Rock the Ridge 2024 50 mile ultra. Yep, I didn't finish. But I did run 26.3 miles in 6.5 hours. I could tell you a lot of excuses why I didn't finish, but the truth is the course mentally beat me. I have suffered through major injuries before. The difference between my current injury and previous ones is stark. Any injury I got in the past was something I choose to do voluntarily. Whether was practicing Martial Arts or working a tough security gig. When I tore my rotator cuff three weeks ago today it was one hundred precent not my fault. Something like a bench collapsing on me mid set is completely beyond my control. There are Somethings going on in my head now. Will I ever have the same quality of life again? Will I take the stage and win more bodybuilding shows? Most importantly will this affect my ability to make a living? All questions I cannot answer. At forty six years old I know I have a tough Road of him. I will be making smart decisions. My diet will be on point. I will listen to the doctors and not go off the reservation. Spring has sprung and with it a pesky Achilles tendon injury I have been trying to heel (Pun intended) for the past two months. The progress is snail pace which is a pace I do not typically like to go. Though I’d rather not have the title of the “one who is always injured” I guess it also makes me the “one who always comes back” even so I’d rather be the “one who has a full season.” A girl can set a goal. Physical therapy has been getting more aggressive and intense the last couple weeks. I’ve been cleared to do most tricep exercises. I can do my scapular pushups in the normal push-up position. Been upgraded to a whopping 5lb dumbbell for curls. The most important thing is I have full range of motion in my arm and wrist extension with no pain or discomfort. Been working on my Mk4, solidifying a daily driver. So far I’ve completed a full upgraded shift bushings by diesel geek, new coolant reservoir (post coming soon), new dip stick as seen, new plugs and wires (post coming soon), new cabin and engine k&n filters as well as new gas cap. All that is really left to be done is a new alternator, new fuel line hoses to fuel rail. As for ray, she is sitting right now as I figure out the exact route I plan on taking for this engine rebuild/swap. As well as my pockets get ready for it. Trying to figure out if I want to junkyard swap it, reman swap it, or pull it and see if I can just do the work myself. Terrible ass photos because I didn’t really document as I went. But replaced the rear left window motor and assembly. Did this same job/door on my 2007 and shattered the window but not this time lol. Pretty easy. About a 1 1/2 hour job. Two bolts at the top. 3 rivets for the motor, two rivets at the bottom, and 2 rivets on the window itself. Drill those out. Raise the window all the way up and use something (I used a non slip mat that you put under cutting boards etc, just something to hold it in place) and pull the assembly out of the slot. Yes you are able to pull it out without removing that metal riveted cross bar, and the door handle bar. You can simply pull it out on top of them both. I had to flex the handle bar slightly but it springs back into place. Slip the new one in. And if your doesn’t like my 07 assembly, I suggest getting some hardware from the store. Mine luckily came with screws and bolts for everything. Everything lined up and screwed down fine. I think the hardest/most annoying part of it all is moving the window around while it is off the rail. So, I lost my Audi A6 but on the bright side I got Nationally Qualified the following weekend November 11th, at the Lee Haney games. I was lucky to walk away from an accident and still be able to compete in a bodybuilding show, let alone win my class.
