Mr McFarlane, who starred in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, as well as being the voice of ITV hit show, The Cube, was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2022. Last Month Joe Kelly and 3 friends headed up North to drive the North Coast 500, covering an incredible 640 miles in 2 days! Joe set off in a £400 car bought for the occasion, which he roller-painted pink the night before 🚗 Locals and other tourists loved it, so Joe decided to turn the trip into a fundraiser for Sepsis Research FEAT! As always, Missing Witches will be contributing our profits for the month of May to support the Native Women’s Shelter of Montreal. In addition, once again we’re asking our community to join us and make a donation/reparation. We know that most of you are coming to us from outside Canada, so, wherever you are, we encourage you to seek out a local Native Women’s Shelter to support. This year, as violence rages across the world, we’re opening the fundraiser to support all displaced people. According to the latest UN figures, nearly 300 million people in 72 countries will require humanitarian assistance and protection in 2024. So if you have a connection to Palestine, Sudan, Myanmar, Congo, Ukraine... we’ll count donations to organizations that help affected women and children around the world. We are following the leadership of indigenous communities in weaving and widening these circles of protection. SO here’s what you’re gonna do... Make your donation of ten dollars or more. Take a screenshot of your receipt and email it to [email protected] with the subject line REPARATION, tell us what country you’re in, plus the amount of your donation. The amount is important because for every $10, you’ll get one entry into the raffle for these prizes. So if you donate $50, you’ll get five entries, and so on. Volunteer Liz has so far completed over 100 miles as part of the #RaceforReading, and raised over £200! She has been counting up miles whilst running, walking, and even whilst competing at the Northern Orienteering Championships at Kilnsey. Liz said; "I’ve been a Schoolreaders volunteer for just over 18 months now and have been welcomed into a lovely school. I always do a lot of walking as well as competing regularly in Orienteering, so when I saw that I could take part in the Race for Reading by doing my usual activities, I decided to get involved." She has battled the wind, rain and cold throughout, so here's hoping we all get to enjoy some sunny weather for the rest of the Race for Reading.
