Im still here 🙋🏼‍♀️🙈 Okayyy.... So I went off the radar a bit last week as to be honest I was just getting a bit fed up of constantly thinking about what I've eaten, how much I've eaten, stepping on the scales logging my weight, getting a workout done etc. This last week I just haven't done any of it, apart from working out, still not as much as I would have liked but 4/6 isn't bad. I'm going to carry on this way at least for another week or so, as I'm away for bank holiday weekend ☀️ Yes I have eaten more than I should have been, no it hasn't been great, but it hasn't been horrendous either. Although I do feel rather bloated, so will be reigning it in. Today is my last Sunday morning in Medellin. And it’s been an experience I didn’t expect. I’m sure I’m lost a bit of muscle. Gained fat at times. Not a clue how much I weight or what the measurement of my chest is. Only tracked calories over a 2 week period when I dieted. Trained consistently 3 times a week. Around 50% of those workouts I couldn’t be bothered, but showed up anyway and ended up enjoying them. Tracking my lifts to make small improvements. I’m fully aware that I’ve been In better shape in the past, but that’s ok. Life was different then compared to now, so I’m looking at what consistency and improvement need to look like just now. Especially moving away from what the fitness industry tells me what I should eat, how I should train, or how I should look with my top off. Being shown what coaches and nutritionists are handing out to people at the moment has made me see even clearer why so many people are struggling. Locked into a way of thinking that they’re failing. Which has made me more determined than ever so show up more to help. To show you what it looks like to put yourself first. Not being chained to more plans that make you feel stupid and misunderstood. So while I’m sat here being bit by mosquitos, my inbox is always open for when you’ve decided it’s time to back yourself once last time. Everything is in the slides but these are my FAVORITE texts I get from my clients. ⬇️⬇️⬇️ When they take what they have learned about macronutrient-based nutrition and apply it to suit their food preferences AND be in line with their goals. This is when you start to OWN your nutrition. These clients had *very little* knowledge about nutrition - they came from the internet-overwhelm of knowledge. After just 11 weeks in 1:1 coaching, they understand the importance of protein intake (which MOST people are under eating, so I usually start there), fiber and enjoying a balance of carbs and fat. They had a desire to learn and make changes to their nutrition and they have dutifully and masterfully applied the knowledge. ⭐️ CHICKEN TIKKA NAAN PIZZAS ⭐️ These were absolutely incredible!! & I’ll take 806 calories for 3 pizzas as they were so filling & delicious 😍 Ingredients (makes 9 pizzas) - ⭐️ 9 mini naans ⭐️ 3 medium chicken breasts ⭐️ Tikka paste ⭐️ 3 tbsps reduced fat crème fraiche ⭐️ 3 tbsps tomato purée ⭐️ Salt & pepper ⭐️ Red onion ⭐️ 1 red bell pepper ⭐️ 120g reduced fat grated mozzarella ⭐️ Riata ⭐️ Fresh Corriander Method - ⭐️ Start by seasoning each chicken breast with a tsp of tikka paste then pop in the air fryer to cook on 190 for 10 minutes. ⭐️ Chop the onions into thin slices and the same with the bell pepper. ⭐️ Mix your crème fraiche with the tomato purée, salt, pepper and 3 tsps tikka paste to make the pizza sauce. ⭐️ Spread the tikka paste onto the naans then remove the chicken from the air fryer and cut into small chunks. ⭐️ Add your onions and peppers to the pizza bases then top with the chicken and 40g mozzarella across 3 pizzas. ⭐️ Bake in the oven on 180 for 10 minutes until the cheese has melted. Serve with riata on the top and some fresh Corriander. These were the perfect Friday night dinner! Happy Friday loves! CUT UPDATE ⬇️ I haven’t done a true cut that I was actually serious about in over a year. & this is the first one that I am doing where I am coaching myself!  I started this cut around the beginning / middle of April - entering week 6. Keeping track of all my progress and doing a little check-in with myself every Friday morning to reflect on my past week and look at my consistency with nutrition, lifts, steps, cardio, etc. :)) I started out super consistent - pretty much nailing all of my protocols on a daily basis for the first 3 weeks with no untracked meals. I will say these past 2 weeks have been a little bit more inconsistent, but have made me more excited to get back to being more consistent! From the start, I have dropped about 3 lbs on average and am overall just feeling better. (It’s important to weigh yourself multiple times a week and take a weekly average because weight fluctuations are so normal and can occur for a variety of different reasons!) I am still eating over 2,000 calories.  Lifting 4-5x a week, still getting stronger & listening to my body if I need to rest. I just bumped my step goal up from 10k daily to 11k.  For cardio, I am now doing 60 minutes a week of either incline walk or stair stepper - nothing crazy.  & it’s honestly been pretty easy so far… The message here is you do not need to be miserable to achieve your goals.  You do not need to be dieting on 1500 calories or less, doing a bunch of cardio, etc. If you are doing this, you are going to have a tough time reaching your goals, actually staying consistent and maintaining any type of result. • Here to help 🫶🏼 - 1:1 coaching application in bio!

Spring vegetable fried rice 🍛by @zestmylemon It turned out absolutely wonderful! I’m having it for lunch with toaster oven baked salmon 🐟and half an avocado 🥑. . To make the rice heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a pan on the stove top. Add 1/4 cup chopped yellow onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until the onion starts to soften. Add 1/2 cup chopped asparagus and 1/2 cup sliced cremini mushrooms. Season with salt and pepper and continue to cook another 3-4 minutes until tender then mix in 1/2 cup peas until heated through. Once the veggies are cooked add 1 cup cooked white rice. Turn up the heat if needed and sauté the rice into the veggies. Push the rice and veggies to the sides of the pan to form a hole in the middle. Add a splash of olive oil then add a beaten egg. Let the eggs set for a moment then scramble the eggs into the rice. Ever get frustrated when you step on the scale?⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Like no matter what you do, you have absolutely no control over than number staring up at you?⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Well chances are you’re not using the scale correctly⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Because those daily fluctuations have nothing to do with your progress⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ They’re a result of:⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ timing/size of your last meal⁣⁣ saltier/higher carb food the previous day⁣⁣ tough workout the previous day⁣⁣ menstrual cycle⁣⁣ hydration level⁣⁣ stress level⁣⁣ sleep quality⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Tracking progress is a system ⁣⁣ And if you go about it the wrong way, you’ll feel frustrated because of the uncertainty⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Common progress tracking mistakes people make:⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ❌only using one measure of progress ❌not weighing in daily⁣⁣ ❌constantly changing what they’re doing because of daily scale fluctuations⁣⁣ Here’s how to accurately track your progress ⁣⁣ ➡️Weigh yourself daily⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ -first thing in the morning⁣⁣ -after you use the restroom⁣⁣ -before you eat/drink⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ At the end of the week, calculate your weekly average weight⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ At the end of 4 weeks, if your weekly average weight is trending downward, keep going!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ If it’s a flat/upward trend, then there needs to be some adjusting done⁣⁣ Now the scale is just one way to measure progress⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ You should be using multiple tools ➡️Take measurements every 2 weeks ➡️Take progress pictures every 4 weeks These are 3 measures of progress that alone won’t show you what’s really going... ⁣⁣ But if you use the 3 of them together, you’ll have a clear picture of how you’re doing⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Because I’ll go ahead & tell you upfront…⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ There are going to be times when your weight isn’t moving or is up, but you’re losing inches⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ There are going to be times when your weight & measurement aren’t moving, but your progress pictures show progress⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ So do yourself a favor & stop being controlled by the scale⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Use multiple tools to track your progress & use them correctly! You DON’T have to do this to get lean… It’s so easy to get motivated and do something very drastic to change your body… You might one day think…. I have to run a couple miles a day and I’ll lean down really quick! Or I’m just going to skip a bunch of meals and I’ll lose a couple of pounds Great, you might lose 3-8lbs during your dedicated / motivated weight loss period… But as soon as you feel hungry that next week or get tired or hurt your self from all of the drastic running… Your back to square 1 The same weight you started at… This was so common for a lot of clients before they started working with me! 💥Client progress update @rachellouiseberry1980 ▪️Rachel Berry Rachel came to me wanting to lose some body fat and increase her strength in the gym. Being a busy mum of two Rachel does very well to always fit her training into her weekly schedule. Consistently working as hard as she physically can during our sessions where we focus on free weights. Training the full body. The family beach vacation… Everyone looks forward to it every year. A full week of sun, sand and relaxation! Unless you are a parent! I hate quick fixes! It’s not something we set out to achieve. That being said, I actually think Emma’s results were pretty quick (this is a 4-5 month transformation). Most people will read that and think 4-5 months is a long time, but it’s really not. You’ve likely been brainwashed into thinking that in 6-12 weeks you should be shredded like a fitness model. It’s not your fault; you’ve probably seen it a million times on Instagram today. Most of it is probably BS. Coaches telling lies about the time frame, just to sell you into their coaching. Some are genuine though; I’ve done them with clients and myself. You’ll sacrifice a hell of a lot, live like a hermit, have little to no social freedom, and sometimes feel like 💩 throughout. Plus, most people tend to rebound pretty hard and end up back at square one. It’s not all that fun 😔. When Emma and I first spoke, she talked about something she could sustain, something she could keep building upon, and something she could implement for the foreseeable future, not just a 12-week shred. She was starting from a place of discomfort, low body confidence levels, and she didn’t feel good about herself. So we went to work. We designed a plan based on her goals, lifestyle, and accessibility. We tried to keep her nutrition plan as close to the normal foods she would eat as possible and started tracking daily calories to give her accountability to her goals. We did weekly check-ins, took pictures, and measurements every two weeks to give her clarity and direction on her goals. Then we made small changes to her program every 4 weeks and bigger changes after 12 to keep her engaged in the program. I’d say it worked a treat, wouldn’t you!? Maybe like Emma, you’re currently lacking the structure and accountability towards your goals.
