What is Litha? Litha, derived from the Anglo-Saxon word for Midsummer, is the Summer Solstice and takes place on or around June 21st in the northern hemisphere. The summer solstice is the longest day of the year and the shortest night. After the summer solstice we begin our descent into the dark half of the year. For centuries all around the world, the solstice has been a time to celebrate the sun at its peak. As your might expect, celebrations were centered around fire and the sun. It was and is a time to connect with the earth while it’s in full bloom and enjoy the warmth of the sun. How might you celebrate? Well, pretty much any activity that includes representations of the sun - make flower mandalas - Make flower crowns - Have a bonfire, which served as the focal point for the community and its rituals - Make that bonfire a BBQ! - Visit a body of water and leave an offering to the guardians of the water - Leave and offering for fairies and ask for blessings from them - Keep Vigil through the night, as is also tradition on the winter solstice - Handfastings - Decorate your altar with flowers to symbolize abundance - Have a picnic! - Practice divination - Create a spiral labyrinth with stones and walk the spiral path, a sort of walking meditation - And, of course, dance and feast!

Finding what notes feel like the witch, her background or her essence is very interesting. Some of the scents are made with essential oils and with those the properties of the oils are chosen to match the witch’s powers. Sabbats Festivities; For this collection the fragrances are designed to embody the celebrations and traditions. This collection is 100% essential oils for a perfect connection with nature and it’s changing magic. Folkore; This collection is mainly developed for the monthly candles and is designed in a similar way as Coven. I pick a folklore story or cryptid, make a lot of research and watch videos on the subject to construct a fragrance that will emote this story. I usually learn a lot during this process and I really love it! If you have any folklore favourites let me know below! Grief; This collection was my favourite to create. Grief is separated in 5 stages and so is the collection. For each stage I’ve brainstormed what they feel like and what scent I could see make me feel the same. The Autumn Equinox is almost here. I can feel the cool temperatures rolling in and the crispness in the air. My garden is retreating for the year with maybe one or two small harvests left before our first frost makes it’s appearance. We are descending into the darker half of the year retreating inward. ‘Tis the season for Apples! 🍎 Apple picking is one of my favorite Autumn activities. There is something so comforting and nostalgic about frolicking the orchards in the crisp air while snacking on a warm apple cider donut. Known as a food of the dead, apples have been recognized as a correspondence of not only the Autumn season, but of the sabbat we know as Samhain, also known as the Feast of Apples or the Witch’s New Year. It is believed on this day the Spirits roam the Earth with us. One tradition on this day was to bury an apple to help guide and nourish the roaming Spirits as they wander. When #wheeloftheyear was published, I really wanted to do an event at @shrewbooksfowey . It’s an amazing little shop, in a stunning location, just a stones throw from the estuary of the river Fowey. It’s a town close to my heart - Daphne du Maurier rented a house called Readymoney there during the Second World War, my grandparents (who also loved du Maurier’s books) used to holiday there, and my mum often sailed to there. Then you have Shrew Books to top it off, owned and curated with impeccable taste by Kate, and somewhere we should all set our compasses for when in Cornwall. Last night I got to fulfil that ambition by chatting with Kate and a lovely audience about #thewaythroughthewoods , the pagan world view, how living closely with nature feeds creativity, and a little bit of witchiness thrown in. In terms of cyclical living, the shift from spring to summer is the time to concentrate on making the most of this outward-focusing time of year before the energy starts to wane again once we get to the summer solstice. This is the time for us to push for our goals. 🤍 Much like the time after the new moon, this is an opportunity to utilise the waxing cosmic energy to make things happen. Seeds have been put into place and now we need to do whatever we can to bring those things into fruition. Don’t hold back - we are in the time of ‘doing’ not ‘being’. The time is upon us where the thin veil of Autumn has arrived and the energy is strong. This is a time where we may feel more inclined to celebrate and embrace Spirit. Especially those of our ancestors and loved ones. Communing with them, calling them forth and feeling their closeness. I thought I would share a peek into my personal work with my ancestors and loved ones and how I honor their lives and lineage as we prepare for the arrival of Samhain. Some of the ways I like to honor them is by holding a sacred space for them. I place their photos within the space, write prayers and sing their favorite songs. I always make sure to have fresh water and often share my personal bakes with them. I will practice divination with them in the form of tarot as well so that I may journal and reflect on lessons and reoccurring themes within our lineage that may be present in my own life currently. Your ancestral practice is personal and does not necessarily need to be those whom you have genetic ties to either but anyone who took part in shaping your life and story today. Між інших, минулого травня, здається, на початку місяця був Ретроградний Меркурій і заготівлю Перстів я відклав аж на 28 число – День Других Покосів. І це були Персти із гарнючими величезними півниками теракотового кольору для фінансових здобутків. Нині ще встигає повторити цей досвід, але, можливо вже з квітами інших кольорів на інакші магічні результати.💜🧡💙 Тим часом вже післязавтра є нагода для того, щоб палити Персти, які добре просушені і готові до знайомства з вогнем. Адже 11 травня – День Повітря (початок, Квадри, коли від останнього місяця весни до останнього місяця літа включно кожне 11 число присвячене окремій стихії). А одне зі звичних способів спілкування з Повітрям у цей день – передання йому послань закладених у дим.🌬 Треба подивитися у своїх запасах, що зберіглося для такої нагоди. 🎃 S A M H A I N 🎃 1/5/24 ~ Halloween Samhain is the witches new years, it is the end of a cycle and the beginning of a new one. Not only the seasons of the earth but also life and death. Samhain is a date when the spirit realm and the world of the living are almost completely connected as the veil between them thins. This bridge between worlds allows the spirits of the loved ones who have passed away to come to visit their families and friends. Pagans set up altars and offerings to make them feel welcome and remembered. It is als the third and last harvest. The Earth gives us her last fruits, and this is the last opportunity to preserve food to survive the winter. Some animals are slaughtered during this time of the year to preserve their meat for the cold months. The dark half of the year is starting. The name Samhain originates from the Gaelic word for “summer’s end.” With the growth of Christianity in Europe, Samhain was incorporated into Christian celebrations as All Hallows’ Eve, which later became Halloween.
