Hi! It’s me. My feed has been quiet for a loooong time, I’m sorry about that! I’m sure many you have seen how busy I’ve been volunteering with Beltane Fire Festival in my story, doing all kinds of creative projects! I thought it was about time to share some of the process behind that work on my feed! Back when we did the digital festivals I had so much content to share, but its been really exciting to be doing different kinds of crafts for this festival, and although there’s been big moments of stress getting things finished in time it’s also been soooo rewarding! I’m extremely grateful to @aprybs for giving me the opportunity to design and make her May Queen banner this year! Her concept for the festival and the specific flowers she chose all fed into the design for the banner, as a way to help tell her story. These are all flowering layer in recent years, and the seeds beings poured into the earth by Her hands symbolise the ritual of righting the cycles that have been out of alignment. Thankyou to @tamsynlilly for her help sewing, and @tysen.arts for their input and help figuring out banner pole logistics! They made the beautiful banner pole last year which we used again. Beltane Blessings ✨ Yesterday I attended an intimate Beltane celebration, with friends, old and new. The Beltane festival is a pagan celebration of fire, fertility, and rebirth, one of the rituals is ‘The Wicker Man’ which is built (from wicker), filled with symbolic offerings and burnt. The sacred fire ritual honours the returning powers of the sun where the fires in the heart are reborn. It is a time for giving thanks, setting intentions, making wishes, manifesting and letting go. It was so wonderful to spend the day connecting to nature. I played my medicine drum on the procession to the Wicker man and I transcended into a deep meditative state, playing as he burnt.
