I was recently approached to craft a bespoke cake knife and trowel for Duncan's and Laura's Beltane wedding at the ring of Brodgar, here in Orkney. These are completely one of a kind with my signature brass inlay and heat colour treatment, finished with a rustic antler handle, which I ethnically source from the highlands of Scotland. In collaboration with @craftycovewhitby the Til Parted By Death handfasting cords and engraved coffin box. Made by me for last month’s @thegothicgathering where I had a stand, these handfasting cords with a red and a black glass charm in the middle and finished off with two black ‘Til Death’ coffins, gained a lot of interest. Once the handfasting ceremony is over, these cords will be kept safe in their specially created, black velvet lined coffin box, made by the talented Crafty Cove Crew. Like Dracula, they didn’t stay around long as this coffin and its contents also left Whitby to go to their new home. I will be reunited with them when they are removed from their coffin next year for their owners handfasting ceremony. Einige von euch sagen wahrscheinlich: "waaaas, erst am 18. Mai Beltane feiern?". Viele haben es am 01. Mai gefeiert. Das ist auch OK. Wir feiern es dann wann es unsere Vorfahren auch gefeiert hätten. Beltane ist ein Mondfest, so wird es normalerweise bei Vollmond gefeiert. Da unsere Feste fast immer Samstags stattfinden, ist der 18.05. am nächsten zum Vollmond. Im Dezember war der Vollmond kurz nach der Sonnenwende, so kommt im Folgejahr alles früher. Der 5. Vollmond nach der Sonnenwende war Mitte April. Das ist deutlich zu früh um Beltane zu feiern, so wird das Fest zum nächsten Vollmond verschoben. Es wird Fülle und Fruchtbarkeit gefeiert und das wäre Mitte April etwas schwierig gewesen. Um diese Zeit haben sich unsere Vorfahren an den sommerlichen Sammelplätzen versammelt, ausgetauscht und die Liebespaare haben den Knoten gebunden. So wird es auch diesmal auf dem Keltenmond Hof. Es wird ein Liebesknoten feierlich gebunden und da freue ich mich tierisch darauf. Ein paar Plätze sind noch frei. Sabato 22 giugno alle ore 17:00, concerto di Arpa irlandese a cura di Katia Ambra Zunino, Fin da piccola ha mostrato un vivo interesse per la musica, la danza, l’arte e per questo “strano” strumento decidendo, dopo lo studio del pianoforte e dell’arpa classica al Conservatorio di Torino, di dedicarsi completamente allo studio dell’arpa ‘celtica’. In Irlanda ha suonato con Grainne Hambley e Janet Harbisson e in Scozia con musicisti di fama internazionale come con Wendy Stewart (Edimburgh Harp Festival), Anne Marie O’Farrell, Cormac De Barra, Cyril O'Donoghue, Graham Dunne, Martin Hayes e Dennis Cahill. Vincitrice di numerosi concorsi internazionali da anni si dedica alla didattica e all’insegnamento della tecnica sull’arpa irlandese e scozzese tenendo workshop in tutta Europa. La sua attività concertistica la vede protagonista nei più prestigiosi teatri italiani, in molte rassegne e in altrettanti Festival come Celtica, Triskell, Celtival, Montelago Celtic Festival, Ennis Trad Festival in Irlanda, Irish Music Festival di Tesserete (Ch) e molti altri. Nach dem ersten Kaffee des Tages hat sich eine kleine Gruppe von 8 mutigen Wassernixen auf dem Weg zum hiesigen Waldsee gemacht um darin noch einmal abzutauchen. Danach aufwärmen mit super leckeren Fladen von Simon und so kann man sich dann langsam auf die Heimreise begeben.
