Let's talk about witches today. In 1800s, a woman could be persecuted for witchcraft for immortality, hysteria, jealousy, mast*urbation, egotism, bad company and even reading novels! Most of which are now regarded as normal. Women, throughout history have always been a symbol. Pretty and not of much use. Any woman who defied, was confident and stood up for herself was labelled as a witch. ~The Girl Who Drank The Moon by Kelly Barnhill~ In this beautiful fantasy novel, in a fantasy town, people sacrifice their youngest born to the forest witch annually. Why? Because that is how it has always been! Xan, the forest witch is a gentle soul who found those abandoned babies and relocated them to other villages. While on a journey with a newborn, she accidentally fed the child moonlight instead of starlight, imbibing her with magic beyond limits. Xan adopts the girl and calls her Luna. The novel covers Luna's journey with magic, accepting it and confronting the town which abandoned her. It is a hauntingly beautiful book. The characters have so much depth, the narration flows naturally and the storyline never fails to impress. Though considered a children's book, it raises issues such as following blatantly wrong customs, patronizing women, witch hunting, abandoned children, emotional abuse etc! The prose might drag at times which I attribute to the writing style, focussed on giving the characters an ageless quality. However the book shall leave you with heartfelt emotions and probably a couple tears. Rating: 4.1🌙/5 QOTD: What is your opinion on the feminist movement? #theshelfnottaken #thegirlwhodrankthemoon #kellybarnhill #kellybarnhillthegirlwhodrankthemoon #fantasybooks #witchvibes #witchcraft #feminismquotes #booksaboutmagic #booksaboutwomen #booksaboutwitches #bookstagramfavorites #booksthatmakeyoucry #womenempoweringwomen

I’ve been thinking about female rage a lot. The way it’s presented in a true crime atmosphere and its pop culture manifestations. I quite love the way female revenge and violence has been represented in Yellowjackets and the last season of True Detective. As I was reading this novel, two authors clearly stood out as inspiration: Alice Hoffman and Margaret Atwood. These are two authors I’ve been reading since my late teens, and I realized as I sat and thought about the ending of this book that their works also have very clear but less violent iterations of female rage and violence as, say, teenage girl cannibalism. Would definitely recommend this book to any fans of Hoffman and Atwood. And,as always, thanks to @topekalibrary for having so many great books available to borrow. #books #ilovebooks #reader #readersofinstagram #femalerage #booksarefriends #witches #booksaboutwitches #booksaboutwomen #booksarefriends #readwhatyoulike #supportyoulocallibrary #supportlibraries

{REVIEW} The Nature of Witches, Rachel Griffin⎪Irene ✨ The Nature of Witches is undeniably my biggest surprise of 2023 and one of my favorite books from now on! 🌱✨ My kind of fantasy is usually urban/light fantasy. I also love it when witches are involved, so I felt excellent about this one! What I wasn’t expecting was the incredible writing style and the perfect way to describe nature, season, weather, climate, etc! Rachel Griffin did wonderful work on that! It was so immersive, I could feel and picture what she was describing so vividly 🤩🍂 I also loved the slow-burn romance going on in this story, it was very sweet to read about, and once again it made me think: we love a good soft-boy-love-interest moment haha! 🥰✨ The true power and impact of this book live in how Rachel Griffin succeded in writing about climate change, global warming, and natural disaster in a YA fantasy novel. It’s a wonderful novel to make us think about the beauty of nature around us but also its fragility. We as Humanity must take care of it because nature can’t do it all alone. In The Nature of Witches, the witches are the help nature needs in front of humans, but when it’s too much even for them, it’s too late... In the real world where there are no witches to help nature heal itself, WE, as Humanity must do and act better. I gave it a huge 5/5 ⭐️, one of my top reads of 2023! ✨😍 #bookcommunity #Bookblogger #YAFantasy #bookaesthetic #Booklover #Bookstagram #readingtime #aesthetic #readersofinstagram #RachelGriffin #TheNatureofWitches #BooksaboutWitches #LightFantasy #MustRead

🪻I am so excited to share the cover for A CIRCLE OF UNCOMMON WITCHES! This book being in the world feels so real now. I can’t say enough about how much I love this story and these characters. They haunted me in the best way for quite some time, and I am so excited for you to meet them! ✨Book Details✨ A witch generationally cursed to never find true love sets out to break the spell cast on her family, and must team up with the last person who wants to help her – the witch who set the curse in the first place. Doreen MacKinnon is doomed to die of a broken heart - if she can’t break the centuries old curse placed on her family. Three hundred years ago, Ambrose MacDonald, a powerful male witch, fell in love with a MacKinnon. And when the MacKinnon witches forbade him from seeing his love, by secretly hiding her away, he retaliated by cursing the family and its future generations to never find love. But it wasn’t without a cost. Now, Ambrose is imprisoned by those same witches, trapped in a tempest and doomed to outlive everyone he has ever loved. But Doreen isn’t like the other MacKinnon witches. As the 13th generation of the MacKinnon line, Doreen is one of the most powerful witches in centuries… and one of the loneliest. So when she discovers where Ambrose has been trapped, she releases him to help her break the curse, once and for all. Ambrose agrees to help, but with his own motive: vengeance. He plans to use her as bait to enact his revenge on her family. Together, they enter a series of trials, which take them to a castle in Scotland, off a cliff, and into a world beyond their wildest dreams. As they work together, sparks start to fly, but soon Doreen must choose how far she is willing to go to break the curse, and what she’s willing to sacrifice. Paige Crutcher’s A Circle of Uncommon Witches is a story of adventure, romance, and destiny, that asks: is true love worth the cost? 💞If it sounds like your kind of book, please consider pre-ordering it from your favorite bookstore! (pre-orders helps authors so much)

Book review of The Sicilian Inheritance by @jopiazzaauthor ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This book is a beautiful ode to Sicily. The fabulous plot - switching between the lives of Sara and her great grandmother Serafina alone make for a fabulous read, but in addition you have layers of history from a female perspective, medicine, mythology, a travelogue and a mouthwatering food journal to enjoy. Think tiramisu in book form. And it certainly did pick me up, I want to book a trip to Italy right now! Thanks to Netgalley, the publishers Bolinda Audio, and the author Jo Piazza, for this advanced reader copy in exchange for my personal, honest review. Weyward by Emilia Hart 4.5 ⭐️ This was the April book club pick with @bookclubwithsammi. First of all, this cover is absolutely beautiful. 😍 This was such a great read and an excellent debut novel! I loved the writing style and multiple POVs. Each main character had a powerful story to tell but I think I enjoyed Altha’s POV the most. This was a slow paced yet impactful story and I really liked how the characters were written. I would have liked a content warning because there are lots of dark moments but it didn’t take away from the story for me. Overall this was a great story and I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys historical fiction, witches and magical realism.

❓Are there any books you were made to read in school that you remember fondly? Slewfoot, ‘a tale of magic and mystery, of triumph and tragedy’, takes you right to Colonial New England and really makes you feel for everything Abitha endures. I mean, I was halfway through a paragraph about a bee, when I stepped outside and a bee flew right into my face! Coincidence? I think not. 😂 But really, for the longest time I dreamed about finding another book that would take me to this time of witch trials the way one book did when I was still in school. Finally achieved that reading Slewfoot. Finally, the character’s decision near the end just feels so right given everything we have been shown throughout. There is nothing I think could have been done better, so it’s 5🌟 from me. 📖 📖 📖 📖 📖 #slewfootataleofbewitchery #slewfootbybrom #brom #slewfoot #bromauthor #witchtrials #witchtrialbooks #horrorfictionbooks #horrorfiction #darkfantasybooks #darkfantasy #historicalfictionbooks #witchybooks #paranormalfictionbooks #paranormalfiction #booksaboutwitches #witchybook #beautifulbooks

🍂 What are some of your favourite cozy spring reads? 🍂 I’m a seasonal mood reader, & Spring has always been my least favourite season to read in. For once, I’m actually in the moon to read Spring-esque books??? Comment any recommendations cause I need them!! 🍂 I recently finished When the Crow’s Away, the sequel to In the Company of Witches & it was a cute follow up! Where the first is a perfect cozy fall read, the second is filled with plant magic, warm spring mornings, & of course a murder mystery surrounding a recently deceased chocolatier! Why did I write this book? Nicki’s story is one about forgiveness and how freeing it is to forgive those who’ve wronged us. Harboring anger affects us more than it does them. Sometimes they don’t even know that they’re hurt us. We can ask for an apology, but at the end of the day it’s better to let the hurt go so we can move on and live happy healthy lives. Nicki’s exes broke her heart to the point that she never wanted to love again. Her father abandoned her to travel the world, leaving Nicki to feel as if she’s impossible to love. It takes getting arrested and a certain annoying cook to help her see that love is worth the risk. Witches Without Magic Book 2 is available for Pre-Order now! Hey Readers 👋🏽 A few years ago I picked up Serpent & Dove after seeing it so much on Bookstagram. At the time, the second book in the series {Blood & Honey} had just come out and it was all the rage. This is a YA fantasy series about witches- I remember thinking for a young adult novel it checks off all the boxes but I wasn’t super blown away or anything…at least not then …. I never got around to reading books 2&3, but last fall I entered a pre-order incentive with @harpercollinsca for the authors new book {The Scarlet Veil} and won the entire Serpent & Dove series! So I’ve decided to dive back into that world again. Currently rereading/listening to book 1 and so far so good! Qu: Have you read these or anything else by this author ?

#wiedźmy #wayward #emiliahart #magic #booksaboutwitches #sisterhood #generations #misteryandmagic #forceofnature #bookstagram

How she can make us go from hating a character, to empathising with them, to actually starting to root for them! Amazing. Yet again, this story runs so much deeper than being a “book about witches”. It showcases how men view women, especially powerful women. And it shows how deeply flawed our government is (see quote in carousel), whilst also dealing with identity, racism, and inclusivity. Happy Witch Wednesday! Today I am sharing this wonderful nonfiction book that I have slowly been working my way through over the last few weeks. Per the publisher- 🖤 This “inventive and compelling” (Times Literary Supplement) work of social history travels through thirteen witch trials across history, some famous—like the Salem witch trials—and some lesser-known: on Vardø island, Norway, in the 1620s, where an indigenous Sami woman was accused of murder; in France in 1731, during the country’s last witch trial, where a young woman was pitted against her confessor and cult leader; in Lesotho in 1948, where British colonial authorities executed local leaders. Exploring how witchcraft was feared, then decriminalized, and then reimagined as gendered persecution, Witchcraft takes on the intersections between gender and power, indigenous spirituality and colonial rule, political conspiracy and individual resistance.🖤 I really enjoyed this one. Several of the cases I had never heard of before and I found it interesting how the idea of witchcraft has pervaded so many vastly different cultures and women have been tortured and executed for simply an idea. I recommend this one if you haven’t read an history in witchcraft and the persecution perpetrated its name. Thank you to @netgalley and @scribnerbooks for an e-arc of this book. #bookstagram #horrorbookstagram #witchwednesday #booksaboutwitches #witchyvibes #witchesofinstagram #witches #witchtrials #nonfictionbooks #bookliver #bibliophile

Thank you @netgalley for this eARC of: Root and Bone by Jessica Raney The small town of Ames, a little Appalachian town, is normally a quiet uneventful place. That is until one day a girl is found brutally murdered. The police force of Ames struggle to piece together the mystery and help is needed from the magical Spencer sisters to find out what is going on and confront the darkness that has descended upon their little town. I loved the premise of this book and really enjoyed the spooky dark parts of this book. It was an easy, fast-paced read that had me eagerly turning the page to find out what happens next. If you like stories with ghosts, vampires, witches and werewolves then this is for you! I do think that the book was missing some world-building and could have done with less time on certain characters (ahem Bob needed to go) and more on others (Granny Kay!! i want a book about her) but I enjoyed this cosy fantasy story and would look forward to reading more. If you plan to read this book just be aware of trigger warnings such as domestic violence. #bookreview #RootandBone #NetGalley #bookworm #reader #bibliophile #currentlyreading #witchvibes #witchbooks #fantasybooks #indieauthors #booksaboutwitches #horrorbooks #arcreview #arcreviewer #arcbooks #bookishthings #bookishlove #bookishpost #bookrecommendations #bookrec #fantasybooks #fantasyreads

𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔉𝔞𝔪𝔦𝔩𝔞𝔯 by Leigh Bardugo “𝒯𝒽𝑒𝓇𝑒 𝒶𝓇𝑒 𝓌𝑜𝓇𝓈𝑒 𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓃𝑔𝓈 𝒻𝑜𝓇 𝒶 𝓌𝑜𝓂𝒶𝓃 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓃 𝒷𝑒𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒶𝓁𝑜𝓃𝑒.” 𝚁𝚎𝚟𝚒𝚎𝚠: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌙 This had a slow start for me - I didn’t really lock in until like 60 pages in, but once Santángel sauntered in and Luiza’s personality really turned on, I was hooked. It reminds me of a mix of ‘Shadow & Bone’ in that a girl is plucked from obscurity (or claws her way out of obscurity) and is mentored by a powerful shadowy figure and forced to demonstrate her power and ‘The Marriage Portrait’ by Maggie O’Farrell with its keenly researched historical elements and featuring the indomitable will of a young girl (who is smarter and wilder than anyone suspects) hunting for agency in a world desperate to bury her. Since I adore both of those books, 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔉𝔞𝔪𝔦𝔩𝔞𝔯 obviously hit the spot for me. It is beautiful and sad and life affirming and tragic and hopeful all at once. Leigh Bardugo has written another deeply unique masterpiece. If you like historical fiction, strong women, and stories of power, this book is for you. “𝐿𝑒𝓉 𝒾𝓉 𝒷𝑒 𝓂𝓎 𝒶𝓂𝒷𝒾𝓉𝒾𝑜𝓃 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝓃𝑜𝓉 𝒻𝑒𝒶𝓇 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝓈𝑒𝒶𝓁𝓈 𝓂𝓎 𝒻𝒶𝓉𝑒.” 📿🦂📿 𝙿𝚕𝚘𝚝 𝚂𝚞𝚖𝚖𝚊𝚛𝚢: Set in the Spanish Golden Age, full of high‑stakes political intrigue and glittering wealth, 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔉𝔞𝔪𝔦𝔩𝔞𝔯 follows Luzia, a servant in the household of an impoverished Spanish nobleman who reveals a talent for little miracles. Her social‑climbing mistress demands Luzia use her gifts to win over Madrid’s most powerful players but what begins as simple amusement takes a dangerous turn. Luzia will need to use every bit of her wit and will to survive—even the help of Guillén Santángel, an immortal familiar whose own secrets could prove deadly for them both. ________ #thefamilar #leighbardugo @lbardugo #flatironbooks @flatiron_books #historicalfiction #historicalfantasy #bookrecommendations #bookreviews #bookphotography #witchybooks #witchyreads #booksaboutwitches

Heartless Hunter ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 This is a story of a witch and a notorious witch Hunter. I was all in for the fantasy world and these characters. It’s a cat a mouse game, where they both think they are the cat. 🌿Book Review🩸This book was so much better than I had expected it to be. This book is a true enemies to lovers romance with a sad ending that sets up for the next book so well. I spent a good majority of this book STRESSED and the last few chapters did nothing to ease that stress. I just am in shock with how things ended, I’m sad, angry, and thirsty for more. PASSENGERS | RYAN DECKARD Genre: Dark Fantasy, Fantasy Fiction, Adventure, Mystery, Thriller. Content Warning: Murder, Blood, Gore, Worms, Dead. Review { Synopsis + Thoughts} This book begins with the story of Atreus, a bullied child who, as an adult, likes to have a life free of problems and confrontations. One night he receives a visit from his father who, without explanation, entrusts him with the responsibility of protecting a relic necklace. On Sunday, Atreus goes to visit his parents’ house and finds them both dead. This leads Atreus to travel to the capital to try to solve the mystery of his parents’ death, only to find himself imprisoned as a passenger in a mysterious carriage that takes him on a confrontation with evil and a journey of self-discovery to fight against this malevolent witch and the curse, which little Jacob released by making an innocent wish. As a horror reader it wouldn’t be fair if I simply labeled this book as dark fantasy, it clearly has some horror overtones, there is murder, torture, mystery and dark atmospheric elements as the plot unfolds cause for me, this is certainly a darker sequel. I was very surprised at how well the two stories are connected and how we see this world develop with more characters intertwining in a very captivating story. If this sequel goes on and on, I want to keep reading it! #bookreview #bookstagram #booksaboutwitches #bookrecommendations #horrorbookstagram #horrorbookstagrammer #darkfantasy #indieauthor #supportindieauthors #fantasyfiction #horrorfiction #bookrecs #bookreviewer #darkstories #fantasybooks #darkfantasybooks #mysterybooks #shortnovel #shortstories #fantasyseries #darkreads #darkbooks #darkbookstagram #newauthors #indiebook #mustread

THE WITCH AND THE WISH | RYAN DECKARD Genre: Dark fantasy, Fairytale, Fantasy Fiction, Adventure Fantasy Content Warning: A little bit of torture, Gore, worms. Review {Synopsis + Thoughts} A child, the forest, an evil witch and a wish... This is a short story about a boy named Jacob who lives in a small village called Ilrun in the realm known as the kingdom of Xaentis. The people who live there believe that deep in the forbidden forest lives a witch, a beautiful but malevolent creature and it is recommended that no man or child ever go there, because those who have done so have faced the worst of endings. One day everything goes wrong for Jacob after being sent by his father to pick the most beautiful flower to apologize to his mother for a prank he played the night before, and when a crow, the forest, the witch and this wish enter on stage, a curse ends up changing Jacob’s life forever. Normally I don’t read dark fantasy, but I must admit that this short story surprised me, it all starts like a fairy tale with the story of this boy Jacob who angers his mother and the dynamics of this family, in addition to what the village and their people life’s is like. The reading has this dark twist that turns into a nightmare where a bit of gore and torture is involved in the story and you get caught up in how heartless this witch is to this boy. For me, this story has a bit of Hanzel and Gretel mixed with Coraline vibes but immerse in this world where this event is just the beginning of a saga with a more darker sequel. In the end and I must say that I was very pleased, it was a short, fast-paced reading, with a poetic type of writing and with this beautiful lullaby in the middle that stays in my mind even days after finishing reading. As I mentioned, this is the introductory book to another reading called Passengers. VenCo had a slow start, but turned out to be such a fun read! When Lucky discovers a spoon linked to a nationwide network of witches, she and her grandma Stella embark on a sprawling road trip—where they find community, hope for the future, and maybe the tools to end the patriarchy (still not sure how this is meant to play out but I’m all for it). When we meet Lucky, she and Stella (who seems to be in the early stages of dementia) are about to be evicted, her job is soul sucking, and the future feels crushing. As the story unfolds, Lucky’s perspective opens up and she builds connections with the other women in the coven, learns about her own magic, and gains a new appreciation for her mother and Stella. The author handled Stella’s memory issues in a way that really hit home for me, as someone with grandparents who have Alzheimer’s and dementia. Lucky teeters in the balance between the memory of being raised by her grandma and her current role Stella’s sole caregiver. Their dynamic is complex, and the humor, frustration, and love read true. The book describes magic as belief, and this means location matters. I loved the incorporation of the land, indigenous practices, and ancestral beliefs into the magic system. Despite the positives, there were areas where I wanted more. I definitely wanted more of the found family in Salem—what are they doing while not on a scavenger hunt? I also felt like the greater context was a bit underdeveloped. There’s not much to tell us why this coven matters so much, what change will happen when they finish their quest, or why the logistics are so arbitrary. I was also looking forward to seeing more of the VenCo corporation. There’s so much opportunity for commentary on capitalism here, but we don’t get it. Honestly, I think the book could’ve done without the corporation and just relied on the witches’ social network for organization. These areas felt a little incomplete to me—either they didn’t belong, or I wanted more. Overall, I loved the connection between Lucky and Stella, the found family, and the locale-based magic. Would recommend as a light read with some interesting concepts woven in!

Weyward by Emilia Hart ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Witches. Ancient magic. Women across the centuries. And a dash of mystery. This was a thoroughly gripping audiobook. We had Alva undergoing a witch trial for interfering with a Doctor who was using leeches. Violet, who is trying to work out where she fits in the world but doesn't want to disappoint her neglectful father. And Kate, desperately escaping her abusive husband and finds refuge in a long forgotten family cottage. The three women are connected and are all Weyward women. A family distrusted by the insular community on the merit of Alva's mother being found guilty of witchcraft. This distrust spreads from the 1600s all the way through to Kate in the modern day. The story is about witches in the oldest sense of the word, of healers, and women who understand the plants and natural world around them. It's a story of women owning their power and striving against those who would limit them. Trigger warning: Domestic abuse. #bookrecommendations #bookreview #audiobook #witchcore #booksaboutwitches #wisewoman #audiblerecommendations

SLEWFOOT: A TALE OF BEWITCHERY | GERALD BROM Genre: Horror fiction, dark fantasy, fantasy fiction, historical fantasy, supernatural fiction and + Content Warnings: violence (mostly against women) animal cruelty, death, gore, puritan lifestyle, torture, religious fanaticism REVIEW {synopsis + thoughts} Connecticut, 1666: An ancient spirit awakens in a dark wood. The wildfolk call him Father, slayer, protector.
The colonists call him Slewfoot, demon, devil.
To Abitha, a recently widowed outcast, alone and vulnerable in her pious village, he is the only one she can turn to for help.
In the book I read this review: “Demon or no, evil or not, the mighty stag Slewfoot deserves our love and devotion. He’s got mine now”… and can’t be more agreed! Words scape from my mouth trying to describe how good this book is! Abitha is by far the toughest female character ever written, and this book the perfect folk, historical dark fantasy horror tale I ever read. The amount of feelings I experience reading this and that extremely satisfying ending were the phrase “good for her” goes beyond accurate. All the descriptions, the atmosphere, the magic, the vengeance, the blood, the sacrifices, the gore, this gothic enchantment and of course the stunning and hunting illustrations that helps you visualize the story… this is by far a work of art and an absolute masterpiece. All I can say is that if you haven’t read it, I don’t know what you’re waiting for 🐐🖤✨ Btw…SAMSON! 📚 book review The Invocations 📚 👹 A supernatural witchy thriller 🧹 I was so excited to read this when it was announced as the evernight book for January and I'm glad to say I was not disappointed. I could not put this book down the story is fast paced without feeling rushed and every time I told myself I was going to stop at the next chapter I had read 5 more. I enjoyed the characters in the book and they both had their own personality throughout the book and it was fun to see how there storyline fed into each other at the start of the book into what was a gripping storyline. I really enjoyed how the magic works in the book and it's certainly a unique take on witches. I like how the author has taken the knowledge of the fact it was said women sell their soul to devil and I enjoyed that take on magic and witches. It's certainly not something i've heard about in other books. This book is a great mix of Buffy the vampire slayer & the newer seasons of Sabrina the teenage witch. ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ #bookstagrammer #booksofinstagram #bookreview #bookreviewer #bookstagram #bookaddict

One of my recent reads was Carbonel: The King of the Cats 🐈‍⬛ The kitties certainly approved of this pick 😸This was written by Barbara Sleigh and published in 1955. It follows a young girl named Rosemary Brown who lives with her seamstress mother in London. When Rosemary buys a broom at a marketplace she doesn’t realize it’s a witch’s broom and she receives the magical cat Carbonel into the bargain. Carbonel is the ‘King of the cats’ but he is under a spell and cannot rule his people. Rosemary sets out along with her new friend John to undo the spell placed on Carbonel. 🐈‍⬛My brother got me this adorable vintage book for Christmas and I’m so glad he did! It was such a delight. It was well written for a children’s book, had delightful characters and a bit of fun magic mixed in. This had a Kiki’s Delivery Service and The Cat Returns vibe ( two Studio Ghibli movies). I think if you like those movies you would like this book. Of course being a cat person this also appealed to me. Carbonel was a wonderful cat character. The magic in this was not very bizarre or out of the ordinary, but it was fun. Rosemary and John help break Carbonel’s spell in a very matter of fact way. I enjoyed both of them and their friendship as well. The way they instantly became friends with an open hearted ease and get along so well. Some other fun characters they come across in the book include some play actors, owners of a tea shop in desperate need of more china and a jolly antique dealer at the marketplace. 📚I enjoyed this a lot and I recommend it if it sounds like something you’d like! 🐈‍⬛🌙 #carbonel #carbonelkingofthecats #barbarasleigh #1950s #1950sliterature #vintagebooks #vintagebookstagram #classicchildrensbooks #childrensbooks #vintagechildrensbooks #booksaboutwitches #booksaboutcats #cats #catbooks #bookreview #bookstagram

Up next is Innherited Magic 🪄(Bedlam & Breakfast Book 1) by Rosalie Hunter. A do over at 51 after being fired means Loral Whitaker has to move across states and crash with her ex husband, his new husband, and their beloved daughter. Loral is out of the city and in the country. After an eight hour drive, she arrives at an enchanting B&B in Hollisbury, Rhode Island. Everything about the town is rustic charm. Her ex is in love, and her daughter is very happy, and working on a farm. Everything is out of a picture book, except for the nosy landlord Maryum. Loral finds Maryum snooping, wearing odd witch like clothes, and black veils. Just when things can’t get wierder, Maryum presents Loral with a deed to a quaint little inn. The catch is that Loral is being asked to watch over Maryum’s home while she goes on an extended vacation. This little inn isn’t a normal house. It comes with magic, a cat, and an even grumpier witch who is used to getting what she wants. Let’s read! #wellnessnbooks #innheritedmagic #bedlamandbreakfast #cozymystery #loralwhitaker #kindleunlimited #witches #booksaboutwitches
