I am med intolerant and resistant since childhood and have many allergies to medications. I am unable to take any prescribed pain medication for my conditions as well. I have had anaphylaxis response to propranolol for the migraines. Been managing with eating and drinking foods that incorporate the herbs I need to incorporate as well as the supplements. Been on medical Marijuana for years to help manage the pain and nasuea as well. Currently they have caused me to develope bipolar symptoms which I am entering a outpatient therapy program for helping me manage problematic behaviors and changes that they have caused me. I also have to find a new oncologist neurologist as my medical records were hacked and it caused Diagnosed March 22, 2021 with a low grade glioma, 2 tumors total in my front left lobe. Both are non operable or biopsable due to location in left lobe. 2nd tumor was diagnosed on 9/1/21. Thinking about starting a video journal of my journey. Who knows maybe there are others out there like me who feel lost due to the isolation the diagnosis causes you to feel, as no one truly understands what it's like having a diagnosis like this let alone the symptoms it causes. imposter syndrome is actually an indication that you’re doing something right. You’re probably experiencing imposter syndrome if you can see your accomplishments but have a hard time feeling accomplished. Or you think other people are confused and perceive you as being more skilled and awesome than you actually are. But imposter syndrome isn’t caused by an accomplishment you oopsied your way into. It’s caused by a lagging identity bogged down with limiting beliefs you have about yourself. You know who DOESN’T get imposter syndrome? I don’t know who needs to hear this, but you’re allowed to change your mind, you’re allowed to want better for yourself because you deserve better. But in order to do so, you must take inspired action towards whatever it is that you DO want. Your job isn’t going to magically notice all of your hard work and pay you more, you have to tell them. You’re not going to be able to change your partner, your family, or your friends. The desire for change has to come from within. If you don’t like how things are going for you, you are going to be the only one who can change that. I say this with love and encouragement. If you feel the desire for something different, chances are you’re capable and deserving of that otherwise you wouldn’t even have the desire in the first place. Same thing goes for your “future or higher self”, any potential you have wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t possible or if you weren’t capable. Sure, it’ll be challenging or uncomfortable but far more rewarding than looking back on your life with regret, or unfulfilled hopes/dreams of what could’ve been if you chose the road less traveled. A few weeks ago I shared on my story about a difficult case I had. How despite the sad outcome, I was very proud of myself for the way I handled this case and my communication skills with the client. Well today, my patient’s owners stopped by the clinic to give me this card! I literally almost started crying in the middle of my shift 🥹 it’s funny how sometimes you’re feeling in the dumps and like you’re not a very good doctor, or the imposter syndrome starts creeping it’s ugly head, so the universe decides to send you a little reminder that you are right where you are supposed to be. You are helping so many people and their pets every day and making an impact in their lives. This owner doesn’t even know how this small gesture just completely lifted my spirits and reminded me that I am doing the best I can to become the best vet I can be. I still have a long way to go before I feel like I can confidently take on more complicated cases but I will always remember this little patient that pushed me so hard and challenged me to be a better doctor. I learned so much from this case. How to put in an NG tube, how to manage suspected IBD and pancreatitis, and even did my first contrast study and abdominal exploratory surgery to find out what was going on with him. It was frustrating and uncomfortable but it helped me learn and grow as a doctor. Even though I wasn’t able to save his life, I take comfort in knowing I did everything I could given the resources I had available. I also want to give a shout-out to the mentors that helped me with this case, namely Dr. Jacob and the kind internist from Antech who encouraged me and brainstormed with me on different treatments I could try. So for the past few months my littlest baby has been suffering from growing pains. The worse have been in her feet, so we grab the trusty heat pack out, heat it up for 1 minute and no more pain for little miss! ⭐️Hey, is your teenager growing fast and complaining about pain? Keep in mind that the muscles have to keep up with the bones. Here are three stretches to alleviate joint pain during these growth spurts. ⭐️Further Breakdown of What’s Happening: When teenagers are going through growth spurts, you might notice that they shoot up 2, 4, or 6 inches at a time. With this kind of growth, teens can struggle with ankle, knee, and hip pain. It is common for the growth spurts to happen in Spring and Summer. To combat the pain, there are stretches that will help the bone and muscle length be more equal. Because the muscles are pulling at the joints, the result can be pain. A lot of times, we have teens that come into therapy with the diagnosis of Osgood-Schlatters (an overuse condition or injury of the knee) because the bones are typically growing faster than the muscles and tendons. As a result, the muscles and tendons have a tendency to become tight and/or strained. The goal in therapy is to strengthen their hips and core and stretch surrounding muscles of quads, hamstrings, calves, and IT bands to combat the pain as they grow and keep them active. #growthspurts #jointpain #teenhealth #teengrowth #growingpains #growingpain
