#The100DayProject Day 41 Every winter for the past 10 years, the city of Toronto has staged an international design competition called Winter Stations. The winning designs result in large-scale temporary sculptures that are built around the lifeguard towers lining the city’s east end beachfront. We lucked out when we decided to head out for the last Saturday of the exhibit. The last snowfall of the season took place the night before & it was a beautiful cloudless day. I didn’t have a chance to sketch any of the sculptures while we were there, but further along our walk I was able to sit down & sketch the vista before me while my husband & son skipped rocks along the water. My son is in full-blown teenager-hood, so those moments of him happily (willingly) spending time with us are growing increasingly rare. So this peaceful view speaks volumes about that day.
