From @myrobalanclinic This is Pellitory-of-the-Wall (Parietaria diffusa), a fabulous kidney tonic and herb to support the urinary system in general. It’s so much more than just a ‘diuretic’. I often prescribe it in personalised blends for chronic UTI conditions as well as to support those experiencing difficulties associated with prostate enlargement. I see Pellitory-of-the-Wall as a herb which helps to overcome obstacles to the flow of water within our body, and, over the years, I’ve learnt that, energetically, it works in the same way, removing obstacles to flow in our lives. This makes so much sense when you understand the link between our emotions and the element of water. I write about Pellitory-of-The-Wall and 107 other herbs in my book: ‘A Working Herbal Dispensary’ which is published by @aeonbooks_publishing. In it, I write about each herb as an individual that I know and respect, rather than just a list of conditions that it treats or the constituents that it contains. I include physiological actions, emotional resonances and energetic qualities according to Tibetan medicine. I also add historical viewpoints, magical associations and plenty of suggested recipes for the home apothecary. I also share my way of working with herbs and my emphasis on treating patients with dietary and lifestyle factors alongside herbal prescriptions. I illustrate this with many informal anonymised case studies throughout the book. I believe that there’s a very special alchemy that happens when herbs are matched to the individual patient and prescribed truly holistically. If you’re interested in working with herbs holistically and learning about them as individual healing beings rather than lists of what they ‘do’, I wrote this book for you! Scroll along to see the entry on Pellitory-of-the-Wall. There’s a link in my bio if you want to find out more or to order the book. #author #lucyjones #authorlife #authorsofinstagram #herbalapothecary #herbaldispensary #medicalherbalist #herbalstudent #herbalenergetics #tibetanmedicine #herbalrecipes #homeapothecary #familywellness #herbal #herbbook #labouroflove #pellitoryofthewall #herbalbook #wellnesswednesday

Plants adapt to spaces and find homes in places that we don't often expect, but sometimes we have given them names to reflect this, like Pellitory of the Wall. #parietariadiffusa a member of the #urticaceae family which the red admiral #butterfly loves. The pink flowering plant isn't it, that's a form of Valerian, but not the one used as medicine. Pellitory, loves hanging out on walls such as ruins + doesn't mind if they are stone or brick. It's often ignored, as even when in flower it's not brash or showy but just quietly getting on with life enjoying the view. It's wonderful #herbalmedicine as it not only moves things, but breaks into them, helping eradicate obstacles. This is very helpful with kidney stones, + calculus, as it will dissolve and move out of the body. It helps when the prostate is large and inflamed too and if there is oedema, as this demulcent #herb cools, soothes and eases the passage of urine. It opens passages even in ears and bronchi, both Parkinson + Culpeper prescribed it frequently for tinnitus and shortness of breath, wheezing etc. As Culpeper and many others understood the planetary influence of plants, this one comes under #mercury like Wednesday 😉 #cleavers moves water but #pellitoryofthewall removes obstacles. #standupforherbs #herbalallies #herbalism #herbalists #seasonality #natureprovides #wildherbs #castles #ruins

Medicinal plants in the heart of London @coaldropsyard I spotted some beautiful teasel which looked like it was about to flower, (about six months ahead of schedule.🤔), and another favorite of mine, pellitory of the wall. These native plants are welcome friends in any apothecary. The teasel is great for joints, bones and arthritis, and the pellitory of the wall is a diuretic, and useful for kidney stones, high blood pressure and urinary tract infections. Next to King’s Cross, this area has a rich history originally built as a resource for coal distribution in 1850. It later became a hub for City night life and raves in the 1980’s; falling into dereliction by 2008. Now it’s a bustling hub for businesses, restaurants, artists and a little bit of plant life. Worth a visit if you come to London. 🇬🇧 #coaldropsyard #teasel #pellitoryofthewall #wildmedicine #kingscross #london #plantwalk #medicine #plantmedicine

Ninth day of Christmas: Urban Pembrokeshire, Part 1 1. Yellow flag iris (Iris pseudacorus) growing next to a stream. 2. Maidenhair spleenwort (Asplenium trichomanes) 3. There was so much Scarlet pimpernel (Anagallis arvensis)! I rarely see it in London so this was a treat! 4. Pellitory of the wall (Parietaria judaica). This was the first time I consciously noticed pellitory of the wall, which is odd considering it's quite a common plant? 5. Hart's tongue fern (Asplenium scolopendrium) 6. I find Roses quite hard to get to species, but I think this was Dog rose (Rosa canina). 7. Black bryony (Dioscorea communis), not sure I had ever seen thr flowers before! 8. Alexanders (Smyrnium olusatrum) 9-10. There was so much Red valerian (Centranthus ruber) everywhere, often growing in old stonework 📆 June 2023 #botany #wildflowers #urbanbotany #urbanflora #wildflowersuk #ukwildflowers #citynature #urbanwildlife #citywildlife #ukwildlife #nature #wildlife #flowers  #naturephotography #wildflowersofinstagram   #botanylovers #yellowflagiris #maidenhairfern #scarletpimpernel #hartstonguefern #pellitoryofthewall #rose #blackbryony #alexanders #redvalerian #wales #pembroke

Parietaria judaica L. : brattee brevemente connate (=saldate)

Everywhere I go I see #herbs At Ludlow castle on Friday the plants attracted my attention as much as the Food Festival, probably more in truth. Red Valerian and #pellitoryofthewall Parietaria judaicia on the steps were particularly lovely. Pellitory is a wonderful #medicinalherbs that supports the urinary tract, going to breakdown the obstacles that can accumulate, even stones in the kidney and of course emotional obstacles too. It also supports the respiratory system. People have been working with #nature for centuries, it's nothing new, the ways have been forgotten by some, which is precisely why this charity exists, to educate and remember our connections with our heritage. Want to learn history, folklore, crafts, art, cooking gardening and medicinal ways, join our community we share 97years of archive with members, offer discounts at our events etc

This is a harvest of Pellitory-of-the-Wall (Parietaria diffusa). It grows in dry places by, and in, walls. It’s mostly taught as a kidney herb, helpful for cystitis, nephritis, pyelitis, kidney stones and renal colic. It encourages more efficient kidney function and an increased flow of urine. Its action in the body helps to dissolve stones and remove calculus. It’s also an excellent herb to consider in cases of (BPH) benign prostatic hyperplasia. Since prostate inflammation and enlargement is linked closely with difficulties in passing urine and in urinary retention, Pellitory-of-the-Wall can be very helpful in the relief of prostate related discomfort. I see this herb as a specialist at overcoming the obstacles to the movement of water. Pellitory-of-the-Wall has an anti-inflammatory and slightly demulcent action which soothes the passages and helps in the process of resolving these obstacles. If you’re curious to know more about Pellitory-of-the-Wall, you’ll be happy to hear that it’s one of the 108 herbs that I write about in my book: ‘A Working Herbal Dispensary’. There’s a link to learn more about, and to purchase, the book in my bio. #selfsufficientherbalism #aworkingherbaldispensary #herbalism #herbalist #allotment #growyourownherbs #pellitoryofthewall #gatherandgrow #seasonalliving #plantbasedhealing #wellnesswednesday #inmygarden #herbgarden #allotmentlife #womenwhogarden #somerset #author #lucyjones #authorlife #authorsofinstagram @aeonbooks_publishing

Pellitory of the Wall is seen growing around Stamford against stone walls, in residential streets, lanes and close to old buildings. It is widely regarded as a weed, I prefer the term ruderal. Of the family Urticaceae it is highly allergenic. Look out for its red stems and tiny pale flowers #pellitoryofthewall #ruderal #edgelands #stonewalls #stamfordlanes

As promised, here’s a bit about the physiological virtues of Pellitory-of-the-Wall. These days, it is mostly taught as a kidney herb for cystitis, nephritis, pyelitis, kidney stones and renal colic. It removes oedema, encouraging more efficient kidney function and an increased flow of urine. Its action in the body helps to dissolve stones and remove calculus. Despite being categorised as a kidney herb, we shouldn’t forget it when considering cases of (BPH) benign prostatic hyperplasia. You can contrast this to the ability of Cleavers (Galium aparine) to move water through long distances, Cleavers has an ability to get water from A to B and to encourage invigoration and movement in tissues but Pellitory-of-the-Wall is a remover of obstacles to the flow of water. I have the deepest respect for Pellitory-of-the-Wall. Again and again I’ve seen how its gentle impact can be life changing for those who need it. #herbalism #selfsufficientherbalism #aworkingherbaldispensary #herbalist #pellitoryofthewall #herbnerd #growyourownmedicine #womenwhogarden #rurallife #plantnerd #plantlove #gatheryourownmedicine #myherbalstudies #authorsofinstagram #somerset #author #lucyjones #authorlife #diyherbalism #herbalmedicinemaking

The best part of my garden at the moment is the #rainbowsilverbeet it is a constant battle to rid the garden of #pellitoryofthewall or what I have now called the ‘curse’ weed, it spread to my garden from the neighbours’ yard, and you’re in a great deal of trouble once you have it - a rhizome root system, and thousands of seeds once it flowers, so pulling it out, even if all the root is removed, just spreads the seeds 😩however, weeding the garden is great exercise 🌿💚

I’ve been harvesting Pellitory-of-the-Wall (Parietaria diffusa). Pellitory-of-the-Wall is a wild medicine which grows in walls or where the soil is very dry and compacted. Since the places it grows are often by roads round here, I grow it in a dry corner of my garden by a wall. This means I have access to plentiful clean, dust free supplies. Pellitory-of-the-Wall doesn’t mind semi shade. I will share a bit about its wonderful medicinal virtues in another post. I definitely recommend establishing some in your herb garden if you haven’t already. #herbalism #selfsufficientherbalism #aworkingherbaldispensary #herbalist #pellitoryofthewall #herbnerd #growyourownmedicine #womenwhogarden #rurallife #plantnerd #plantlove #gatheryourownmedicine #myherbalstudies #authorsofinstagram #somerset #author #lucyjones #authorlife #diyherbalism #herbalmedicinemaking

If I was pellitory of the wall this is where I would want to grow, right by my favourite derelict building. I call on this resilient plant for it’s soothing power with hot inflamed conditions that arise in the urinary tract. Most recently as part of a prescription for someone who had oedema with bladder irritation and urine retention . It made me smile yesterday when I saw it growing so beautifully on a not so beautiful corner, calling for the wee of every passing dog, cat and rat😊. I also saw it growing absolutely everywhere in Barcelona last year -which also smelt of cat wee -and wondered if it had become a problem for allergy sufferers? sometimes the problem is hidden in plain sight and this plant may be best avoided by hayfever sufferers. It is a herb that was used a lot in past times for the treatment of coughs , burns , skin problems but doesn’t seem as popular these days. I associate it with old castle walls because that’s where I first found it growing and am sure many a serf, queen and king would have great fully taken in its healing virtues. And best of all it is in the nettle family a very elite clan.

What's one of the most straightforward ways glyphosate is bad for nature? It destroys a place for creatures to live and a place to feed, not to mention destroying plants' own intrinsic beauty. This titchy shiner is a Beautiful Cosmopterix Moth (no offence to the other Cosmopterices) - its caterpillar younger self feeds *in* Pellitory-of-the-wall, a demur cliff, wall and pavement dweller - the tiny caterpillar lives most of its life in 2D, residing within the leaf itself, quietly munching away, leaving a translucent window pane, spun with silk (and a little poop, although they eject a fair bit of their detrius) within the green. Tucked away in this unlikely crack on Avenue road, there was a flurry of colour and life, and delightfully named flowers - feverfew, scarlet pimpernel, Love-lies-bleeding. Anyway, the poison sprays have been out again, and our street flora are turning a grotty unnecessary shade of jaudice, but do keep your eyes out in the next lull, when our streets gain botanical surprises and small-scale life once more. #PellitoryoftheWall # ParietariaJudaica #BeautifulCosmopterix #CosmopterixPulchrimella #ScarletPimpernel #LysimachiaArvensis #LoveLiesBleeding #Feverfew #TanacetumParthenium #glyphosate #herbicide #herbicidefree

I grow this #herb as its often in polluted areas like roadsides and especially in walls. If you want clean herbs and to learn about them by observation #growingyourownherbs is best. Part of the pleasure of being a #herbalist is deeply connecting with #nature to emerse yourself and learn. For me that has been essential as we are life long learners, and never know it all. Choosing the right Herbal course, is important as they are very different, but please don't ask which I recommend, do your own research. #pellitoryofthewall or #parietariadiffusa is great for removing obstructions especially in the water zones of the body. Lymph and urinary system may benefit from #cleavers #galiumaparine, but if there are other obstacles causing oedema, stones and deposits etc then this #herb can be a good choice. Ideal for prostate problems as it's anti-inflammatory and opens passages. A member of the #urticaceae family and food for the #redadmiral #butterfly comes under the influence of Mercury. Always consult a Registered Medical Herbalist for full information and treatment as they have trained, spent years building knowledge and skill and alot of money to qualify and they can save you both time and money. #herbalists #herbalmedicine #medicinalherbs #plantmedicine #standupforherbs #selfsufficientherbalism #astrology

Plants - love them! No matter where I am I notice the plants more than anything else.... 💚 And what excited me the most was the 2nd picture - a little unassuming wall with really important plants! Copper fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) on either side of the door, white flowering Comfrey (Symphytum officinale) and Pellitiry-of-the-Wall (Paritaria diffua). It's been wonderful to get away with my mum and visit my lovely cousin @timberwolfuk in Suffolk. This has been her first trip away since the pandemic. Not good. The young and the old have been the hardest hit. Getting her back into gear for a bit of 'normality' has been the perfect reset. And special times with family are hard to top 🥰 The old architecture in Lavenham has been a treat too! #familytime #roadtrip #Suffolk #goodtimes #greatarchitecture #loveplants #comfrey #fennel #pellitoryofthewall #herbalmedicine #herbalisttravels #lovelife

First time tincturing this edible/medicinal plant: Cucumber Weed aka Pellitory aka Parietaria. Once you know what it looks like, you’ll find it’s relatively common in central Texas, both in the wild as well as in more disturbed areas. Like it’s more well-known botanical cousin Stinging Nettle, medicinally it has an affinity for the kidneys. It’s a diuretic, nutritive, and anti-lithic (helps the body prevent/remove gravel and kidney stones). #pellitory #pellitoryofthewall #cucumberweed #urticaceae #kidneyherb #parietaria #texasherbalism #texasherbs #texasherbalist #texasmedicinals #gingerwebbherbalist @texasmedicinals

Chickweed from todays hike is this evenings snack! Chickweed aka #stellariamedia is my all time favorite weed to pick this time of year. She makes a brief appearance in the month of February, and holds so much nourishment! Found in moist places, in ruderal areas. Distinguishable by the tiny white starlike flower, this wild weed is packed with chlorophyl and tons of nutrients including calcium, potassium and iron. Chickweed is cooling and good for ailments where there is too much heat. Best used fresh, not much use once it’s dry. I make a pesto every year and freeze it for later enjoyment! 🍃 Chickweed Pesto Recipe: - Chickeeed (you can also add other herbs like parsley or whatever, get experimental!) - Garlic - Olive oil - Sunflower seeds (Pine nuts are too expensive and they do the job) - Salt and pep Proportions you ask? Idk just add a little here, little there until you arrive at a good consistency. This is how I cook 🤷🏻‍♀️ Probably gonna use on some sandwiches this week, ohhhh yeah! Currently dipping strawberries in it, thinking it would be weird with the garlic but it’s actually bomb. Enjoy!

These #herbs chose to live and thrive here, they know their needs they made decisions. If the world around them changes will they accept it, give up and die, adapt and make decisions, communicate with their surroundings. We humans think we have choices about our health and lives. Those choices are influenced and made by many means. Truth and education are the key to understanding the details, something #herbalists are keen on is observation and details to gain knowledge and experience, compassion and support life. What do we want as humans... Choice is essential, oppression and fear destroys life. #standupforherbs #herbalmedicine #herbalists #pellitoryofthewall #medicinalherbs #walls #plantsonwalls #urhpuk #foraging

The medicine in my street. Pellitory of the Wall Some can nibble her cucumber leaves freely, others get an itch all over which I’ve heard can be quite upsetting, so much so that she has been accused of crimes of inedibility. But edible she is, and quite delicious, filled with vitamins and minerals. Best avoided in highly allergic individuals, however. She’s a close relative of the nettle, like a sister perhaps, but instead of stings she offers itchy gambles in return for her medicine. As the name suggests she is a friend of old walls, nestling her roots into cracks and crevices and reaching up to live at great heights. Her medicine has an affinity with the urinary system and an infusion of her leaves can move stuck fluids freely. She promotes harmony and reconciliation and lives freely right outside my door. A being I am drawn to sit with and get to know, as she is enchanting to me.

🇬🇧Parietaria officinalis also known as Pellitory-of-the-wall, upright pellitory and lichwort, is a plant of the nettle family, but the leaves are non-stinging. The plant grows on walls and poor soil. Active components of this plant are: Flavonoids, mucilages, calcium oxalate and tannins. Internet says that this plant is helpful for fluid retention, constipation, and cough and also for a variety of urinary tract disorders. I thought this is a pest plant, because it never stops growing in the garden, but every plant is good for something. #horsefood #plantsforhorses #medicalherb #parietaria #glaskraut #pellitoryofthewall #kräuterfürpferde #pferdegesundheit #healthiness #phytonutrients #hierbasmedicinales #hierbasparacaballos

As above, so below, pic 1 +2 is the same view from Clitheroe's Norman Castle remains. Some herbs have taken up residency in the old walls and grounds, with #parietriadiffusa / #pellitoryofthewall, being very abundant.pic6+7 As we can see this #herb avoids obstructions and successful thrives in places such as cracks in walls as it needs very little water or sun. It isn't bothered by constricted areas as it runs deep, to find where it needs to go. It also does that in the body, removing obstructions in the way, including stones and deposits and releasing constrictions. This soothing, anti-inflammatory is used by some herbalists to treat many conditions including, nephritis, cystitis, BPH/ benign prostate enlargement and kidney stones etc. Herbs are truly amazing and without knowledge of how to work with them, they become under appreciated and lost in time, which must never happen. Herbs are our past, our present and our future. #theherbsocietyuk #standupforherbs #medicinalherbs #plantmedicine #herbgardening #herbalallies #herbalmedicine #castles #normankeep #historicsites #bwherbs

A harvest of Pellitory-of-the-Wall (Parietaria diffusa). You often see it on roadsides and along paths, places where the soil is very dry and compacted. I grow it in a dry corner of my garden as I need access to unpolluted and abundant plant material for my clinic. Pellitory-of-the-Wall is a specialist at overcoming the obstacles to the movement of water. You can contrast this to the ability of Cleavers (Galium aparine) to move water through long distances, Cleavers has an ability to get water from A to B and to encourage invigoration and movement in tissues which have become sluggish but Pellitory-of-the-Wall is a remover of obstacles to the flow of water. Not surprisingly, it removes oedema, encouraging more efficient kidney function and an increased flow of urine. Its action in the body helps to dissolve stones and remove calculus. It has an anti-inflammatory and slightly demulcent action which soothes the passages and helps in the process of resolving these obstacles. Since prostate inflammation and enlargement is linked closely with difficulties in passing urine and in urinary retention, Pellitory-of-the-Wall can be very helpful in the relief of prostate related discomfort. These days, Pellitory-of-the-Wall is mostly taught as a kidney herb to be used for cystitis, nephritis, pyelitis, kidney stones and renal colic but we shouldn’t forget it when considering cases of (BPH) benign prostatic hyperplasia. Historically, (in the seventeenth century) the juice of Pellitory-of-the-Wall was used to treat ‘ringing in the ears’. Perhaps its action was related to its ability to soothe and widen constricted passages. I have the deepest respect for Pellitory-of-the-Wall and its amazing actions in the body. Again and again I have seen how its gentle impact can be life changing for those who need it. #herbalism #selfsufficientherbalism #herbalist #pellitoryofthewall #herbnerd #wildmedicines #foraging #wildcrafting #basket #growyourownmedicine #womenwhogarden #rurallife #plantnerd #plantlove #gatheryourownmedicine #myherbalstudies #authorsofinstagram #somerset #author #lucyjones

Nature is cool 😎💚🌱 "The walls are home to a diverse range of plants, with wonderful names evocative of their habitat, such as the Ivy-leaved Toadflax (Cymbalaria muralis) and Pellitory of the Wall (Parietaria judaica). Many of the wall plants are natives, for example, the Great Mullein (Verbascum thapsus), which grows in the rubble on top of some of the old walls. Several other species are 'naturalized'; introduced to Britain they have become 'new natives', and acclimatised to our environment and ecologies. Naturalised species include the dramatic Red Valerian (Centranthus ruber), which grows in profusion from our walls. The plants themselves offer food and habitat for a wide range of animals, adding significantly to the biodiversity of the site. Even the large dusty, seemingly sterile swags of ivy provide cover for small invertebrates (insects, spiders, etc.) and therefore food for birds such as wrens and titmice."

Ha! The things you can find when you look hard... I found this tiny plant, Pellitory-of-the-Wall, in a crack in the pavement in our village, crevices and walls being its favourite haunts. It's related to stinging nettles but does not sting. Pellitory was grown as a diuretic, cough and woundhealing medicinal herb in the past. It initially has pink female flowers (photo 1) followed by white male flowers (photo 2) - both are really tiny and very allergenic. The plant is called 'glass herb' in several countries as the leaves (which have microscopic hairs) were used to shine glass and copper pots.

Herbalists are teachers that work with nature. A herbal businesses connects us to our environment in many ways. Herb walks and workshops are to some herbalists, a large part of their business and income. Some are just back to work, others have never stopped, as herbalists are as individual as the herbs they work with. Health however, is the order of the day ever day and the service provided is for the benefit of all. Some #herbs grow together, while some alone like this #pellitoryofthewall / #parietariadiffusa which has made its home in a wall, supplying for all its needs to thrive and be healthy. Nature needs our support and respect, but so do herbalists, who have been helping people for generations.

Meet Pellitory-of-the-wall (Parietaria judaica) aka asthma weed or spreading pellitory. The late herbalist Christopher Hedley was very fond of her. It belongs to the Urticaceae (stinging nettle) family and is native to the Mediterranean area, though has been introduced to different parts of the world. This perennial sprawling bushy weed has a sticky reddish stem with clusters of tiny flowers. It is often found inhabiting old stone walls, ruins, castles, damp church walls and pavements. I am fascinated by plants that grow out of unexpected places. The caterpillars of the Red Admiral butterflies love to munch on them. 🏰🌱🦋 In the classical literature it is called by the Greek name “Helxine”. Both Dioscorides and Pliny the Elder agreed that it makes a formidable medicine for inflammations (e.g. cellulitis) and edema. In Arabic medical texts Pellitory-of-the-wall was described as glasswort and used to polish glass. This has been confirmed by 12th century Andalusian physician/herbalist al-Ghafiqi who said that the plant was useful to clean mirrors and glass utensils - apparently this is because of the high concentrations of sodium and potassium. Traditional Palestinian healers recommended drinking 50ml of the decocted leaves before each meal for treating female infertility. Herbalist Mrs. Grieve said it to be the “most efficacious remedy for stone in the bladder, gravel, dropsy, structure and other urinary complaints. It’s action upon the urinary calculus is perhaps more marked than any other simple agent at present employed”. Nowadays Pellitory-of-the-wall is regarded as a diuretic and kidney trophorestorative. It may be used for kidney & bladder stones, cystitis, nephritis and pyelitis. As a vulnerary it is topically used for wounds. 🌿⛑️🌼 Nevertheless, caution is warranted for those who suffer from hay fever and other allergic conditions - it lives up to its nickname asthma weed. A lot of foraging books skip this cucumber flavoured plant as many people end up getting the itches. #herbalmedicine #phytotherapy #herbalist #ethnobotany #materiamedica #eehparietariajudaica #wildflowers #pellitoryofthewall #parietariajudaica #urticaceae

Four plants to look for on walls: Red Valerian, Ivy-leaved Toadflax, Pellitory-of-the-wall, and Maidenhair Spleenwort. As well as some rather fab names these are often taking advantage of a lime mortar in a pointed wall or gaps in a traditional limestone drystone wall. Red Valerian isn't always red, Ivy-leaved Toadflax isn't related to Ivy but to the snapdragons, Pellitory-of-the-wall is in the nettle family (but doesn't sting) and Maidenhair Spleenwort is a fern. This is #lichwort or #pellitoryofthewall which also grows a lot around here. One of the few plants I learned about from my paternal grandma, as she wasn't so keen on sharing that type of knowledge. I used to rip it off because my dad is highly allergic to it, but nowadays I let it grow in some spots because it makes a good medicinal infusion and is also edible. ________________________________________ #parietariaofficinalis #pam #plantasmedicinais #ediblewildplants #plantassilvestrescomestiveis #foraging #eatgreens #freefood #comidagratis #knowyourplants #veggies #growyourownfood #makefoodnotwar #growfoodnotlawns #jardimcomestivel #greenliving #lowimpactliving #vidanocampo #survivalism #autosuficiencia #selfsuficiency #natureprovides #abundance #naturalremedies

Here's another plant you need to know about. It grows along the walls. If you have allergies, this plant is no fun. It is edible and leaves have nice flavor of cucumber, but may cause itchiness. I'm about to go remove a bunch of it from our garden and make some for tea. #pellitoryofthewall #naturejournal
