In Chinese Medicine, the Heart is considered to be the most important internal organ of the body. There are two ways our Shen is nourished, one is through our dreams, the other is through our thoughts. There is a coorelation between how we speak with ourselves, the amount of space we give to nourishing, listening to and feeding our hearts dream, and the amount we give ourselves to our Life’s purpose on this planet. This is me preparing a recent Cleavers harvest for drying. Cleavers (Galium aparine), is also known as ‘Sticky Willy’, ‘Goose Grass’, ‘Catch Weed’, ‘Beggar Lice’ and many more country names which allude to its sticky stems and seeds. It’s a wonderful lymphatic tonic. If you’re suffering from swollen glands, lymphoedema, skin break outs or repeated bouts of tonsillitis then you probably have an overloaded lymphatic system (often accompanied by weak digestion). You’ll need to look to your diet and lifestyle to get to the root cause, for example, cutting out rich fatty foods and improving your water intake, but Cleavers is an excellent support to the lymphatic system whilst you’re making the necessary changes. Since, according to Tibetan medicine, the inner working of our bodies directly affects our experience of the world around us, a clogged and over loaded lymphatic system is very often accompanied by a sense of ‘being stuck’ and feeling stagnant. ✈️ Had to head to NC 🏡 • • Listen, I can be transparent because I take accountability & I’m true to self. I love that for me 🫶🏾✨ The NC location needed in-person training. The phone ☎️ calls just weren’t cutting it. Nearly 1.5 weeks behind on orders & I had to figure out why. 💭 • The visit wasn’t that I didn’t trust team members. It wasn’t to micromanage. It wasn’t to say no one was doing a GREAT job! There were approximately 50 orders left to do out of hundreds this round so I APPLAUD their effort! Effort is attractive so team members attract GRACE & GENTLENESS from me! ✅✅✨ • • I REFUSE to be the Proprietor who treat their team less than they deserve. It seemed that once team members seen me in-person, it gave EVERYONE a calm reset. They were filled with anxiety due to high orders numbers during TRAINING WEEK! Please forgive me, SOAP Friends, for choosing the PRE-ORDER week to provide training. I thought it would be a GREAT opportunity to learn. It was but here is where I failed them: 1️⃣ Providing virtual training. 2️⃣ Team members are NEW to formulation. 3️⃣ Underestimating the love & support of SOAP Friends. Meaning, I picked the PRE-ORDER week for training. Thinking that oh, they won’t order much this time since it’s the 7-15 days PRE-ORDER week. I was VERY wrong. 🥴 God blew my mind yet again 👏🏾✨ • • With that being said, I made myself available. I opened up the floor to have healthy & safe conversations. I ate learning of their frustrations, stress, constructive criticism because it wasn’t about ME! I listened to them. I wanted to know the root cause & what I could do to help them & make their work environment better! I believe in providing opportunities. I’ve had students go to PA school, college, become teachers, serve the country, & more. Now, I’m birthing Manufacturing Chemists just like me 🥹 After that, I sent everyone off for the rest of the day off. I flew in that same day, got to the lab at about 10:30pm & stayed up until 5:34am to finish up orders so that team members wouldn’t have too. 🙂 I love them & they deserve to have freedom of expression. I feel this trip set us up to have an even better week this week! 🥳🥳
