We all need a little tough love from time to time. . I am not saying tracking is the only way to lose weight. But, it is a really helpful tool and works well if you actually do it! . Losing weight it definitely not easy. And it is going to take some sacrifices and hard work. . You can’t complain about your lack of results if you are going into your day unprepared! . Meet Mr Jacked 😮‍💨 AKA Phil 💪🏻 7 months ago he came to me looking to build some muscle and get stronger in the gym So we built mr Jacked who looks like he could eat old Phil 👀 Before he started he’d been training for a few years but wasn’t seeing the progress he wanted He was going through the motions with his training, just jumping on any machine He was eating a lot of calories already (but not enough protein) He’s a gardener so burns A LOT of calories daily He didn’t have a structured programme and wasn’t pushing himself in the gym as much as he needed to to build muscle Fast forward 3 months 61kg ➡️ 68kg He’s added 7kg of muscle ✅ But still looking very lean! 🔥 He’s also added 6cm to his chest & 4cm to each arm 💪🏻 He’s hit PB after PB in the gym 🏋🏻‍♂️ But how did we do it? We added a lot more protein to his diet & educated on the importance of it using the ‘more protein, more life’ training in the lab 🍗 We also got him to watch the muscle maximiser training in the lab ™️ As well as working to failure and guaranteed this by recording himself in the gym 📲 Calorie surplus + Protein + progressive overload = muscle 💪🏻 It’s important to remember though, your body can only build a certain amount of muscle So eating all the calories won’t mean you add all the muscle You need to monitor how much weight you are adding weekly (Looking for 1-2% per month with Phil as he is very lean) As well as consistent progress photos to monitor how you look and Phil still has a great physique! I totally understand why you might prefer to avoid them, as it was what was recommended for many decades, and it’s scary knowing that your precious little one may have a reaction….⁠ ⁠ But, avoiding allergens is like avoiding taking a medication you need, your risk of severe illness continues to increase, the more you delay taking it. ⁠ ⁠ When introducing allergens, ensure you are prepared. Do it on a day that you don’t have a lot on, that you could drop everything to go to the doctors if you need to. Start with a small amount, and then build up as tolerated. ⁠ ⁠ The longer you delay introducing allergens, the bigger the risk of your little one being exposed to dangerous amounts and your precious child having an anaphylactic reaction. ⁠ ⁠ Of course, if you’d like assistance introducing allergens to your child, please reach out⁠

Every now and then I like to take myself out of my comfort zone Doing something I really don’t want to do Ice baths, longer runs, cold dips in the sea This was another one of those times I had 30 minutes of cardio to get done but instead of my usual run I decided to go for a swim It was humbling to say the least I swallowed enough water to fill Barry docks half an hour felt like 3 hours and I was lapped a few times by a man I can only describe as bigger than mr blobby Good Means I have something to improve on Means I can only get better I also felt incredible after and the funny thing is? Some weeks, it’s homemade comfort food. Some weeks, it’s a turkey wrap (with extra pickles 🥒) and a salad. DON’T OVERCOMPLICATE THINGS! I was away this weekend and didn’t have time to prep. So should I just throw the whole week in the trash? Heck no! One of the most important things I teach my clients is how to stay on track, even if it means they’re not eating our EXACT meal plan. In fact, I encourage them to try some substitutes to 1- TEACH them and 2- keep things interesting. My plan had chicken breast and rice and veggies on it. I had no time to cook any of that. So I consult my list of substitutes and know that I can swap my chicken breast for deli turkey, my rice for a wrap, and my veggies for a salad. See how easy that was??? Meet Harrison.. AKA Shreddie Krueger 😮‍💨 4 weeks ago he came to me wanting to get in shape He had experience training before but had never really pushed himself in the gym He wanted to drop the body fat he had & build some muscle After just 4 weeks we’re nearly at the end of his dieting phase 🔥 He’s 3kg down and taken 3cm off his waist But how did we do it? Breakfast Banana Split Ingredients 1 medium banana 1/2 cup low-fat cottage cheese 1/4 cup berries fresh or frozen 1 tbsp nut or seed butter 1 tbsp low-sugar granola Instructions 1. The heart wants what it can’t have 💔 Are you someone who tells yourself you “aren’t allowed” to eat a certain food or foods? Then after hours of battling your internal monologue, you give up, only to find yourself staring at the remnants of said ‘forbidden food’? And this only further validates why you cannot be trusted and should never allow this food back into your vicinity? The problem is not the food, it’s not your willpower, it’s the fact that you are telling yourself that something is off limits. This will only make you want it more. Giving yourself unconditional permission to eat anything, at any time of the day is incredibly powerful but also can be pretty scary. What if I give myself permission and eat the entire tub of ice cream? My answer - but what if you don’t give yourself permission? You’re probably going to eat the entire tub of ice cream anyway and then feel guilty. What usually happens when you give yourself permission is because it’s no longer taboo, you stop at a portion that leaves you satisfied and without guilt. If this sounds like you then it’s time we chat because if you can’t give yourself permission, you can guarantee I will give it for you ❤️
