Got some new faces here, so allow me to re-introduce myself! I’m Bryan, and this is my vegan before/after...and I was vegan in both photos! So what changed? Although I had been vegan for years in the first photo, I wasn’t truly eating healthy. I was drinking a lot of coffee and caffeine, which made me always feel rushed and anxious, and often skipped lunch. The times I did eat lunch, I’d grab something quick and random like chips and hummus or an Amy’s pizza to get some food in. My dinners used to be ok, and focused on tempeh, sweet potatoes, and broccoli, but as I look back now I wasn’t getting hardly the amount of calories, protein and nutrients I needed to perform (and look and feel my best). This all changed when I decided enough was enough and focused entirely onto eating whole foods. I started making cooking and eating more nutrient dense meals a priority. Soon after that I discovered the need for higher protein, and made these higher protein foods a priority in my meals. So I started really focusing on foods like edamame, tofu, tempeh, lentils, black beans, and nutritional yeast to name a few. By staying focused and by cooking and meal prepping, I got at least two-three high protein meals in a day along with some healthier snacks of either fruit or protein shakes. I also started resistance training, and just focused on my own bodyweight by doing exercises such as push-ups, pull-ups, dips, and squats. Due to the consistency with my workouts (and not needing a gym) and with eating more nutritious foods, I saw my body and energy completely transform in front of my vegan eyes! This path eventually led to me becoming a coach and trainer and helping other vegans get the body of their dreams, all while maximizing their long-term health. Haven't posted in so long. I'm more of a social media stalker than poster/content creator. But I am able to eat more now - this is an appetizer size plate. 💫Things I am still working on: letting the scale dictate my emotions, eating more whole foods than relying on protein supplements and listening to my body when it is truly needs calories versus emotional eating. 💫Things I have mastered: not eating past being full, drinking plenty of water and physical activity every day - walking, running, weights, and/or yoga. Veganism is a psyop. Many vegetables are full of oxalates or other anti nutrients that prevent nutrient absorption. Not to mention the affects mono crop farming has on wildlife. Thousands of insects, snakes, rodents, rabbits, etc being killed by tractors apposed to one cow feeding an entire family for a year. Took a lil break from the gym this Friday... Incredibly blessed to have tested @mildredsrestaurants new venue in Victoria before its grand opening on the 7th of May with my client @cascardiff. Everything feels premium and beautiful from the decor, to the food and service. As a vegan, it's amazing not having to settle "for the vegan option" on the menu and to be able to have what we really fancy without questioning it. I had the masala brunch and Cass had the Mediterranean. Together with coffees and a very indulgent chocolate and hazelnut pancake to finish. I had Dalston as my favourite branch but Victoria has just stolen that spot. I love having the opportunity to debunk comments such as this, shall we begin ☺️🌱💪 1. Wrong, complete #vegan protein sources are just as viable as animal based protein sources. For example, tofu, tempeh, seitan, TVP & so forth are all plant proteins that contain complete and abundant amino acid profiles. Meaning everything you need to build muscle / tissue, there's no secret ingredient found in meat / dairy. 2. Incorrect, a plant-based diet is significantly better for your health in a multitude of ways. It's a diet rich in vitamins, minerals & phytonutrients. I know as a vegan I must supplement with B12 but I think that's a fair exchange for removing the cholesterol, carcinogens and cruelty to animals that eating meat and dairy entails. 3. False, soy is completely safe and healthy for everybody. It has even been found to be beneficial for both male & female hormonal health. The only reason one would need to avoid soy is if they have a specific allergy / aversion to it. Confession time 😱 I have no idea how much protein I'm getting every day (but I know I have enough). As a vegan coach who lifts weights 3 times a week, I need a good amount.  However, I do not track and I eat totally intuitively. I actually refuse to become paranoid about protein 🙅🏼‍♀️ I know for a fact I'm not deficient given that I build and maintain muscle easily and that I've hit all my lifetime PBs on a vegan diet 🏆 There's a number that's floating around : ideally someone who strength train should get 1.6 g of protein/kg of body weight. But this number changes all the time depending on the source and new research.  Let me simplify it for you. There are great sources of plant protein. My fav are tofu, tempeh, edamame, quinoa, beans, chickpea, lentil, and my trusted @vivolife clean protein powder. Combine them, have a good amount of them, and don't give yourself a headache. Live in the knowledge that you can be strong, built, vegan without obsessing about protein.  If any of that stuff sounds foreign or complicated to you, shoot me a message. I remember feeling “fit” for the first time. This was back in 2014. I lost a ton of weight by eating a high-protein, animal-based diet and avoiding gluten (don’t ask). Little did I know that my cholesterol, uric acid, other health markers, and energy levels weren’t normal. That feeling lasted approximately three months... Why wasn’t I getting abs?! So I hopped on a bulk to “build more muscle,” expecting to find the answer there. Long story short, and not like I was before, but I got fat again. The story changed drastically when I started really tracking and aiming for performance rather than just looks. On top of that dramatic change, I went fully plant-based, experiencing an almost immediate boost in energy, recovery, and my health markers. Now, my physique, energy, confidence, and health are just byproducts of my daily habits, which are part of my structure. A structure that you can have too. Can you imagine making progress this quick? Ash has lost 3 kg since we started working together and he looks much more muscular. He's burning fat whilst gaining strength and musculature. Is this some form of wizard craft? No, he's doing well because he's putting in a lot of effort doing the tasks that matter the most. He tracks his calories (roughly 400kcal deficit) He records his workouts (consistently gaining strength) He messages his coach regularly with updates This program doesn't just look at nutrition and working out, it solves problems before they come up and then when something unexpected happens we overcome them together through WhatsApp messages or a phone call. Making vegan muscle meals doesn't have to be difficult or complicated. It's really not a whole lot different than a traditional bodybuilding meal in terms of food groupings, calories and macros🌱💪 Here's how to construct a vegainz meal: ✅Choose a protein source, some of my favorite options are seitan, tofu, tempeh & TVP. From time to time more processed things foods like boca burgers or gardein. ✅Choose a carbohydrate source. Some good examples are rice (white or brown) quinoa, potatoes, lentils, beans & fruit. I personally prefer fruit in the morning or pre/post workout. ✅Add your veg, any and all you like. Some staples for me or broccoli, cauliflower, onions, brussels sprouts and kale. I'll often alternate and you can use vegetables interchangeably and very liberally. ✅ As far as your portion sizes it's really predicated on the amount of calories you need for your body and goals. This would also predicate the amount of macros in specific, namely protein. You want to make sure to have an abundance so your body always has a steady stream of amino acids to pull from for musculature. It’s always simple to get back on track one of the original keto guru. I really never made a big like the others I guess because I wasn’t posting as much and wasn’t using my platform as something to become famous. I have an actual job. That gives me the ability to travel the world and to try new and experience new things especially when it comes to these diets it’s always nice to find something in another country that you know you can eat because it’s keto friendly at the end of the day just make your choices Understand What works for you and what makes you happy the one thing at least I can say is I went from 340 pounds all the way down to 151 not a lot of people can say that especially doing it in nine months. REALISTIC SUSTAINABLE RESULTS Less than 3 months (11 weeks) and the before/after pictures speak for themselves : stomach and back are leaning out, bum is shaping up.  Sally has been training at home with dumbbells 3 times a week in the run-up to her wedding. She's also been travelling a lot and has kept up with body-weight and band workouts whilst abroad.  Weight-wise, Sally is exactly where she was when we started as this whole experience has never been about dieting. She is a self-confessed snack Queen and doesn't sacrifice social life, celebrations and drinks.  Instead, she's been adding more protein and veggies to every meal. And perhaps eats a little more mindfully.  I'm really excited to see where Sally will be in an other 3 months and most importantly how gorgeous and radiant she will look and feel on her big day.  How about you?
