↳ 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗰𝗵𝘁.. Die letzten Tage gingen an die Substanz, sich eine Woche lang quasi ausschließlich alleine um den Minimann zu kümmern, während der Herzmann mit starken Schmerzen nur im Bett lag und dann ins Krankenhaus kam, war nicht ohne.. Und dann wurde ich selbst noch krank. Schmerzhafter Husten, Schnupfen Kopfschmerzen, aber ich dachte: "Hey, morgen ist der Mini in der Krippe, dann kannst du dich etwas ausruhen." Ja.. Pustekuchen, seine Gruppe wurde geschlossen, weil alle Erzieherinnen krank waren. Und dann gab es gestern einen Moment, an dem ich einfach nicht mehr konnte, nicht weiter wusste, den Minimann angeschrien habe, als er nicht schlafen wollte, weil ich einfach mal ein paar Stunden für mich wollte - brauchte! Unter Tränen habe ich dem Herzmann eine Sprachnachricht geschickt.. Er hat sofort angerufen und konnte mich zum Glück etwas runterholen und die Situation hat sich wieder entspannt. Gestern Abend durfte ich ihn dann auch glücklicherweise wieder aus dem Krankenhaus abholen.🙏🏼 Heute konnte der Mini Gott sei Dank wieder in die Krippe und wir versuchen uns auszuruhen, bevor ich dann morgen arbeiten muss. There is always going to be so much that is completely outside of your control in motherhood. You can not control how your child behaves, you can not control when they get ill, you can not control their own unique temperament or sleep needs. You can not control how long your house will stay clean, whether your going to be able to get some time for solitude, the judgement from others or societies expectations from you and what it means to be a good mother. I am sure every mother has experienced a time when they have had plans, and they have had to surrender to something else instead. This loss or lack of sense of control can leave mothers feeling defeated, which is why it is truly important to focus on the areas that are within your control. Such as your: Food choices Water intake Inner talk Social group Movement Time in nature Self expectations Self compassion All of these areas, when you make choices that positively impact you and improve your own mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing, make your motherhood journey feel so much more enjoyable. If your child develops a uniform, red, circular rash, how do you know when to seek medical attention? Take a pen and draw a circle around edge of the redness. Check the rash in 12 hours. If the redness has extended BEYOND the circle, it MAY be infected. The most common skin infection that looks like this is called cellulitis and it is a deep skin infection. It occurs when there is a break in the skin, like a cut or a bug bite, and bacteria enters the skin. Then, it infects the dermis and subcutaneous layers of the skin. Symptoms include redness, warmth of skin, tenderness and sometimes fever. Treatment includes antibiotics. If your child has a rash that looks like this and spreads beyond the circle, and has other symptoms, it may be a different type of skin infection and you should still seek medical attention. So the next time your child gets a bug bite or a cut that has surrounding redness, or develops any circular red rash, draw a circle and check it in 12 hours. If the redness spreads, your child may be developing a bacterial infection and you should seek medical attention. Have you tried this hack? Neuro 6 week check up for baby chunk. 🧠 Her skull is already growing back. What's crazy is that Jer and I figured the skull would just close. Like, it would just seal back together like it does in a normal child. Nope. The skull is staying where it's at, and the skull is completely regenerating inward. 🤯 She said that's perfectly fine and normal. 😅 She said her head circumference is in the 50th percentile, which is perfectly fine for her age, but also probably why she's going on her 4th helmet.. bc she was like the 18th percentile at birth. We ran into her actual surgeon on the way out, and she wants her into a new helmet next week... so helmet #4, here we come. 😅 Good thing I got a multi pack of stickers. 🌿 She goes back in 3 months. Have you given this plant-based wellness a try? If you’ve struggled like I did to get a handle on everything, this helped me. I was stressed, overstimulated, experiencing anxiety, mom brain, anger and was sleeping like garbage. I couldn’t seem to wrap my brain around how I was going to start feeling like myself again. I wanted to workout but I was too tired from poor sleep to wake up early. I was stressed from work and the daily demands of being a mom. Okay okay...hear me out...this may sound silly to some, but I've always had this pull, a nudge if you will to support mamas in building their own business. It's something I'm passionate about and have been supporting Mamas for years. You see... we still have the societal pressure to wear all the hats. This is 43!! What it doesn’t show is all the chaos going on….🤣🤣🤣🤣 Right after I took this pic all heck broke loose! Aj decided he wanted to wash his shoes last minute in the kitchen sink as the bus was pulling up. He literally put his Nikes under the sink and soaked them, ran the faucet inside his shoes 🤣🤣… and then put them on.. 😮😮😮😮 we had to hold the bus today for this.. he’s going on a field trip today with soaking wet sneaks on.. he insisted on wearing the wet shoes! Also I almost killed myself and slipped on an ice cube and I spilled raspberries all over the floor, and don’t you know I spilled coffee on myself. Why do I wear white.. anyways I am just going to breathe for a minute and this is a good reminder to you all that life is crazy and unpredictable and you have to roll with it! Your monthly cycle is an intricate ebb and flow of various hormones that are signaling your body to do what it was naturally meant to do, and the Pill essentially cuts the phone line between your ovaries and your brain. 🤯 The body is supposed to have a natural hormone flow and it looks like this... ⭐️ Menstrual Phase (part of the Follicular Phase): Your period is the shedding of the uterine lining. Levels of estrogen and progesterone are low. ⭐️ Follicular Phase: Occurs between the first day of your period and ovulation. Estrogen will rise as an egg prepares to be released. You should be feeling more energetic. ⭐️ Ovulation: The release of the egg from the ovary (usually mid-cycle). Estrogen peaks just before ovulation, and then drops shortly afterwards. Many women feel their best, have clearer skin, and a higher libido. Once your hormones drop (about three to five days in), you may feel less energetic and possibly a little “down.” ⭐️ Luteal Phase: This is when the body prepares for a possible pregnancy. Progesterone is produced, peaks, and then drops. Some women experience “PMS.” (PS: PMS isn’t something you “have to deal with” as a normal part of your cycle! A doctor can help you balance the hormones naturally to reduce symptoms.) This week marks National Women's Health Week. The way that I get to empower women is by urging them to prioritize their health and fitness during pregnancy and motherhood. Being pregnant or a mother shouldn't mean neglecting health and fitness. Movement has been a part of our nature since the beginning, and I'm here to remind all women that, regardless of their perinatal stage, prioritizing movement is achievable even when time can feel scarce. Hi! I’m Ruby 🤍 I’m a veteran 🇺🇸, first generation 🇲🇽Mexican-American, a wife 👰🏻, a mom 🙇🏻♀️🙇🏻♂️, and a student 📝 (Currently working on my bachelors in Sports and Health Sciences!) After retiring from the military, I’ve been struggling to stay active because let’s face it- it’s challenging with kids 😵💫😂. Impossible? NOPE.
