🦒S-A-F-A-R-I🦒 We had a lovely day at @westmidsafari yesterday seeing all the animals. It was the perfect weather for it too! ☀️ most the animals were out in full show and it made for a gorgeous day! We used our clubcard points for money towards our tickets aswell which was such a bonus! TIPS FOR THE DAY:- - We didn’t go immediately round the safari, we went into the walk round part first and the rides. These were quieter and we got on more. - Check what rides your little ones will go on first to get the most out your wristbands - We did the safari after lunch, it meant it was much quieter and you could take as much time looking at the animals without feeling like you were holding people up

One of my greatest spiritual teachers is Louise Hay. Her book, You Can Heal Your Life, changed my life. I used to carry copies of it in my trunk to give away. When I bartended at a bar in West Hollywood, I heard stories from my regulars about the “Hay Ride” healing groups she ran during the AIDS epidemic in the 1980’s. Even now, some of my therapy clients have told me how instrumental her work was for them when they first acquired HIV more than 30 years ago. In 2013, a friend told me about a training where you could become a Heal Your Life workshop facilitator based off of Louise Hay’s teachings. I immediately signed up. I thought, “If I could bring Louise Hay’s philosophy to LGBTQ youth, I could help prevent so much of what I experienced in my childhood that led to substance use, low self-esteem, and shame about my identity.” Who knew around the same time a woman named Tilly was thinking something similar in wanting to bring Louise Hay’s message to young people. Tilly and another incredible woman, Christine, got Louise Hay’s blessing and created a social-emotional learning program based off of her philosophy called, @tillyslifecenter (TLC). Not long after I completed my Heal Your Life training, I received a call inviting me to become a TLC facilitator. For six years, I had the incredible opportunity of helping bring TLC to young people throughout LA County. It was the privilege of a lifetime. I taught alongside some of my best friends while carrying Louise Hay’s message of self-love to youth in places like Central Juvenile Hall and at the LA LGBT Center’s Highland Youth Shelter. This past weekend I was able to attend the 12th anniversary of TLC. It was like no time had passed and yet so much has changed. The world we live in today is not the same as it was when TLC was first born 12 years ago—its message is needed now more than ever. Happiest of anniversaries to you, TLC. Recently, I’ve been posting a lot about leveling up as dads.
