Apple 🍏 healing and western lore. Apple tree rules the light half of the year in the Druid ogham calendar. The sacred tree most associated with the ancient tradition of wassailing. A ceremony in which blessings and prayers are said to trees and liberations are poured onto the roots and toasts said to the tree spirits to encourage fruition and a good crop. This tradition goes back into ancient Celtic times and apple trees were especially honoured and blessed for their potential for abundance and plenty. In Druidic lore Cerridwen Welsh goddess of transformation and rebirth made a potion in her cauldron to grant her son wisdom. Three drops of the potion escaped the cauldron and these three drops were made of the essence of apples descended originally from heaven to land in the cauldron. These three drops symbolically correspond to the three pillars of the Druidic tree of life. Which represent the male and female and their united expression. Thus apples are regarded as symbols of sacred unity, love, partnership and fertility. The three drops of apple essence also represent the druids most sacred and holiest of symbols the Three rays of light. The first ray pertains to vision, the second to letters/symbols and the third represents the ability to understand the first two. From these rays called Awen was born all art. These rays can be expressed by sounding IAO as a mantra to invoke or express the creator. The three sacred drops of apple essence also represent the juices of inspiration from which all beings receive their life giving force thus connecting to apple tree invokes this energy of creation, flow, life force, greening and blossoming. The symbolism and healing of apple trees were thus held in reverence and high regard to our ancestors especially also as they are the preferred host of the most holy mistletoe 💚💚💚

Today's Spirit Guide is Parrot! 😄 The Parrot spirit guide is connected to communication, color healing, and sunshine. This guide is often attached to those who are influenced by the sun. The parrot's feathers are often coveted as materials for prayer sticks with the ability to call upon powers of the sun at any time or season. Because of the parrot's ability to mimic, it is seen as a connection between animals and humans. A guide meant to grow a sense of compromise, diplomacy, and the ability to understand others better. In Pueblo tradition, the parrot is also connected with salt as well as the sun due to the lore that places where salt was found were gifts from the sun. Parrot, Psittaciformes, is a group of over 350 birds including, but not limited to, Macaws, Lorikeets, and Cockatiels. All of these birds possess common attributes that place them under the Psittaciformes order such as a curved beak and four toed feet arranged with two toes pointing backward and two toes pointing forward called Zygodactyl. They can be found all over the world in mostly warm environments such as Australia, South America, and Central America. Although, some parrots such as thick-billed parrots, keas, and maroon-fronted parrots prefer to live in colder environments. Parrots can be found in a range of sizes with weights between 2 to 56 ounces and just over 3" in length to 40". Their diet is omnivorous with many of them preferring vegetation-filled diets of seeds, fruit, nuts, and buds along with insects. The strong, curved beaks of parrots are evolved perfectly to hold and crack open nutshells for their favorite food: seeds. Other species such as the Kakapo will chew on plants to drink the juices while others like the Keas will use their longer beaks to dig out insects and grubs from underground. La ricostruzione di due delle statue dei “guerrieri” di Entremont. Le metto per dare un’idea di cosa si sta parlando. Erano appunto personaggi esposti nei santuari celto-liguri ne sono state ritrovate altre a Roquepertuse e in oppodum vicini. Appartenevano a statue in posizione assisa (oggi diremmo posizione yoga) generalmente chiamate “guerrieri” o “eroi” perché erano legate al culto della testa mozzata. Last night I had a dream about my bardic path. Yesterday I told my boyfriend about the summer solstice and how there is a gathering of Druids that go to Stonehenge for the summer solstice and how badly I’ve always wanted to go or be a part of before I learned of OBOD. It was a really nice conversation that made me realize why I became a Druid in the first place. It was a really nice reminder especially after Beltane. I was in charge along with my friend to write our pagan church group the ritual for Beltane. Little did we both know that we would be in charge of the whole thing and was told the incorrect start time for the gathering. My mentor started things when we weren’t ready and the ritual felt rushed and didn’t feel genuine. The people gathered for the most part looked annoyed of even being there. It rained during the ritual and mostly everyone cleared out in the middle with my mentor leading them away. My friend and I felt really sad and frustrated. But the rain cleared out “bad energy” and helped reset the Brenton of the ritual. Some good people stayed and reassured us to continue. That we don’t need the majority to continue. Frankly it was quite rude to leave in the middle of the ritual to go eat our feast due to a short rain spell. My friend and I continued the ritual and danced the Maypole. And even though the ritual was done we both felt in our hearts that we weren’t satisfied with how it felt. That we felt obligated to finish the ritual because the people came back. Last night similar to my bardic lessons, I was in my inner circle when a Druid approached me and told me to not forget the reason why I’m on my path and not lose the whimsical joy in my heart. Avebury henge and stone circles is a prehistoric marvel. It was built during the Neolithic period (between 2850 BC and 2200 BC). The henge survives as a huge circular bank and ditch, encircling an area that includes part of Avebury village. It is the largest stone circle in Britain originally having 100 stones. Avebury was part of Neolithic and Bronze Age ceremonial sites that seemingly formed a vast sacred landscape. Avebury Stone Circle was one of the places I had wanted to visit for a long time. It was thrilling to finally be able to stand in front of the stones and touch them. I was surprised by its magnitude and energy, which is both very old and very current. It's a place like no other because it has remained in use. Avebury is within the village. It is visited by people like me (who want to get to know it or revisit it), but at the same time, it is an integral part of all the people who live in the town within the stone circle or on its outskirts. It's a place that hasn't remained ‘frozen in time’, it has continued to reinvent itself. It's there for us, to tell us about the times of our ancestors but also about nowadays. Just a Ramshorn snail shell I have discovered. The home of a very common freshwater beastie, a prolific breeder apparently and according to the internet they have their ‘pros and cons’! Human beings also have those! When I found it this afternoon on my riverside walk it seemed to me that I had found the greatest treasure! Just look at that spiral!!! SVATOJÁNSKÝ Blíží se čas letního slunovratu, Alban Hefin, Midsommeru a Svatojánské noci, a s tím přichází i tradice devíti bylin, které se sbírají v tomto čase a mají velkou sílu. S devítkou bylin se setkáme i v této směsi. Ta se skládá z jitrocele, dobromysli, mateřídoušky, heřmánku, růže, třezalky, pelyňku černobýlu, lípy a černého rybízu. Směs je určená primárně k rituálním účelům a k rekreačnímu pití, nikoliv k léčebným účelům. Dodává sílu, projasňuje mysl, dodává naději a pomáhá otevírat naše srdce. Směs by dlouhodobě neměly užívat osoby užívající hormonální antikoncepci, psychofarmaka a léky na srdce, rovněž směs není vhodná pro dlouhodobé užívání těhotnými a kojícími ženami.
