🏷️ lil tag time PHYSICAL tbr tag time!! Thanks @linas_bookish_nonsense for tagging me, I always love a little tag [ 1 ] shortest book: Dawn by Octavia E. Butler — the first book in the last Butler series I have yet to read! [ 2 ] next book: Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson — I read way of kings last year and finally will pick up the sequel! So many people love this series sm, and I liked the first book but wasn’t wooed by it fully so we shall see how the sequel goes [ 3 ] most intrigued by: Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir — this series has such good reputation and I’m very interested in reading it. The only reason why I haven’t picked it up yet is because for some reason these books are really expensive. I cannot find the sequels for less than like €18 paperback ANYWHERE [ 4 ] most hyped: Fire and Blood by George R.R. Martin — sort of? I would say this book counts as hyped feeding off of all of the ASOIAF hype. I have yet to read it but I’m looking forward to it! [ 5 ] newest release: Cytonic by Brandon Sanderson — this is the third book in the Skyward series which I haven’t started yet but I got the three books quite some time ago, cytonic was released in 2021 [ 6 ] most intimidated by: Dracula by Bram Stoker — I really want to like this story which is I guess why I’m intimidated by it [ 7 ] most love genre: Illborn by Daniel T. Jackson — fantasy babyyyy [ 8 ] most recent addition: the obelisk gate by NK Jemisin — I got it secondhand recently because I need to continue this series! I want to reread the fifth season and then immediately jump into the rest of the series. I actually have packed away a lot of my books so I had limited number to work with for this tag haha but still, it reminds me I certainly need to read more from books I own physically but so much of those are fantasy books, which is why whenever I read non-fantasy (which I do a lot too), it’s on my kindle.

If you are struggling to get on board with Lisa Jewell definitely give this book a go. I started this book when I was extremely tired and it took me a few chapters to realise there was a Libby and a Lucy! I loved how the story developed and how truths came to light. The only reason it’s not a 5 star for me is because it took me a bit of time to follow what was going on. But once you’ve navigated the time differences, characters and countries you’re good to go. The Other Woman ✨ARC Review ✨ Author Holly Down Release Date 7th June 2024 3.75/5 ⭐️ I would like to thank @netgalley and @bookouture for this advance reader copy. Kitty suspects her husband David is having an affair. Her suspicions heighten when she sees her husband cozying up to a young woman he works with called Nina. David doesn’t come home, Kitty hasn’t slept in her bed and someone ends up dead. The only two people that can shine some light on this situation, both have hangovers and can’t remember a single thing. Thoughts: This is a full circle story. How it begins is exactly how it ends. It was like watching a movie. If you’re familiar with the show set up of ‘How to get away with murder’ this is it. The book is split into two parts, and there’s a switch of narrators. It’s a ‘who done it’ type of story, where we’re taken on a journey to find out what has happened and who is responsible for this horrendous crime. After reading, I looked at the cover and then digested the actual story and I thought the whole idea was quite good. It’s not at all predictable. The supporting characters were supporting, we had an insight into these close friendships and most importantly the marriage dynamics. I did feel that the exclusive interview was much too long and it could’ve been cut down. I just didn’t care for Dick being interviewed after a while, so this part really dragged the story for me.Too much time was wasted on this area of the book. I also started to root for a character towards the end. It would be a spoiler to reveal who I was rooting for, but their epilogue really had me laughing. is one year old today 🎂 & 5k book besties!! 💌 I can’t believe I started my bookstagram account a year ago 🥹 time has gone so fast and I have loved every second of it. I remember sitting on my couch a year ago, my toddler had just had a nap and I thought wow. I’m sick of scrolling tiktok when she naps, I want something to DO. So I went and bought a book that afternoon. I finished it in a day, and went back to buy more… and I’ve been reading ever since 😍 Starting my account is easily one of the best things I’ve ever done. It has allowed me to connect with so many incredible and kind people, share my opinions and of course… find so many more book recs 🤭 I’ve fallen into a slump a few times in my year on booksta, which in turn has caused me to spend some of that time being inactive, but I feel so blessed that you have all continued to show me love & support. May Hopefuls 🍒🪿🎀 I currently finished Book lovers and am now reading Ready or Not, and my hopefuls are on the right! For me it’s always a bit surreal to meet the person that created amazing stories and characters that I’ve read and loved. It was incredible to get to meet so many fantastic authors in just two days! Haven't started the Twisted series yet but I will probably soon. I finished king of pride I think 2 or 3 days ago and started another book (not in the series) right after. I had a tattoo appointment today so I wanted a book without smut for the appointment, well it actually went really fast and I only got to read 2 chapters while getting tattooed. Fun fact my tattoo artist told me in her 10 years of working I was the first client to bring a book and actually read camly while she worked. Surprisingly it didn't hurt a lot, the shading and filling out stings a bit but it was actually like a lil bug bite. (I got my first tattoo on my neck) Anyway king of sin the series is alright I expected more because of the hype online but it's still good tho. It's only a little depressing that the next book in the series will be released March next year. If I try to create a story with “🌼♥️💪🕊️🎉”, it’d be something like this: A flower shop owner and a really buff man (possibly a wrestler) fall in love. So, we already have opposites, maybe even sunshine/grumpy trope — which is great. Anyways, the flower owner and the wrestler have a shared pet bird. When they breakup middle of the book (BECAUSE APPARENTLY THAT’S A THING), they still have to share the bird. I’m guessing they get back together. Maybe the bird played a part in doing so, taking olive branches to the other person. I mean the emoji is holding a plant of sort so it’s not entirely impossible. Currently reading "I am, I am, I am" 🫀 by Maggie O'Farrell I saw this book in a second-hand shop, and of course, I first grabbed it because of the title and cover.. Especially the cover, I love it... ✨️♥️ However, I quickly got intrigued when I read the back of it.. It's a memoir about near-death experiences and the idea of life's fragility. I've read only the first 50 pages, but it's definitely a very personal and vulnerable read. It includes little stories that literally keep me on my toes as if it's a thriller. I'll leave a review here as soon as I finish with this one.. ..but in the meantime, I'd love to know if you have a favourite memoir and which one is it. You." → Was ist euer Lieblings-Trope? ich muss glaube ich gar nicht mehr sagen, dass ich Enemies-to-Lovers über alles liebe. Somit war mir auch klar, dass ich die Geschichte von Wes & Liz auch vermutlich lieben werde. Und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Eine süße Liebesgeschichte, die ich jedem empfehlen kann. Wes und Liz sind zwei wundervolle Charaktere, die man alleine aber auch gemeinsam liebt, besonders gemeinsam. Der ständige Schlagabtausch, besonders um die problematische Parkplatzsituation, hat mich immer wieder zum Lachen gebracht. Wes wirkt zunächst wie der beliebte Schuljunge aber mit der Zeit merkt man, was für ein süßer Charakter er doch ist. Liz hat mich auch begeistert. Eine junge Frau, die das macht, was sie will und auch wenn sie sich im Buch versucht zu verstellen, um einen Jungen zu gefallen, kommen doch immer wieder ihre tollen Charakterzüge zum Vorschein. Besonders die ständigen Parallelen zu bekannten RomCom Movies haben mich begeistert. Die Geschichte war einfach lustig und süß und die Charaktere haben mich einfach in ihren Bann gezogen. Book 📖 11 of 50 for #2024 : Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo Genre: Fantasy Age Group: 13+ Page Count: 358 Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ (3/5) Do I Recommend it: No I was super excited going into this book because I heard so many good things about it. Unfortunately, it was a let down. The writing felt extremely vague. It felt like the narrator was too lazy to actually say things and skimmed over the story missing out the little details. I know that we don’t want to know every single thing but personally I felt she was telling what happened rather than showing. Because of this, I didn’t the feeling of “being” in the book. The plot was alright. It did have good aspects but because of the chunky writing, it felt really rushed or skipped over. There were some great twists, which I enjoyed and definitely gasped about. And I think the author did a wonderful job at world building. The characters were written nicely as well. They all had their own personalities and traits which made them feel real. Sometimes, I felt they lacked chemistry (not just romantic — any) but other than that, they were decently written. I know people love this book but sadly I don’t have the same feelings. 🦌
In my Dragon Era once again 🐉 As mentioned in a previous post, this is high up on my TBR and once I finish my 3 (😱) current reads, this will be my next one! ✨ Dragon Rider by @taranmatharuauthor sounds like the PERFECT book for a fantasy lover like me, full of adventure, epic world building and, of course, Dragons 🐉 I have already read the first chapter (I couldn’t help myself) and I already love the style of writing and the world building! I think this is going to be a new favourite! ✨ Also, I just wanted to mention, I have recently realised that I had been focusing a lot on posting what I thought the algorithm would like, or what others would want to see, but I stopped thinking about what I wanted to post! I read it when @hellosunshine announced @daisyedgarjones would be playing the ‘Marsh Girl’ because I was basically OBSESSED with her after Normal People 🌞 An outcast from the town, a young girl is left to fend for herself in the marsh where she lives. Just confirmed my preorder for book two Apprentice to the villian. It has purple edges and red cover which is the opposite of book one. Looks fantastic. This is a hilarious book about a villian that hires an assistant and will basically do anything for her. Also there is a frog that holds up signs as his imput. I am a sucker for animal sidekicks.
