Portrait of Cranes in Mist I was sitting on the porch of my family’s house, overlooking the lake. It was a misty autumn day, and I was grieving the end of a relationship. I had lost my temper and broken things off, specifically because I was hurt and wanted them to hurt too. Now, we were over, and I had come home to lick my wounds and grieve. I had a cup of tea in my hands, and the mist from the tea was mixing with the mist coming off the water. I took a sip. Suddenly, the mist parted and two cranes appeared in front of me. So beautiful, so elegant. They’d been so quiet, I hadn’t even realized they were there. The peace of their presence touched something in me. As I sat and watched the cranes moving slowly through the water and the mist, I felt that outer peace open a place of peace inside myself, and I realized they had things to teach me. For the rest of my visit, I spent as much time as I could on the porch, watching the cranes. I tried to learn as much as I could from them, so I could take it home with me. It changed my life, that moment in the mist. The cranes taught me to truly appreciate stillness. I used to be so impulsive. But as I learned to emulate the cranes, I slowed down, chose to live with more deliberation, more thoughtfulness and more purpose. To live like the cranes isn’t to give up emotion, but to pause and assess that emotion, to make sure you don’t respond to the world from that place, to always step back into yourself and reconnect to what surrounds you before taking action. Healing is not only for those who are still alive. Often times, we grieve and hold on to our loved ones who passed. In some cases, people who died of sudden death gets stuck in limbo. The space of LIMBO is where the lost souls are unaware that they have died. Trust me, you don’t wanna find your loved one there. It is grey, emotionless and sad. This is where I come in as a medium to invoke the soul and call them into consciousness. Bring the soul/spirit to light. At times, the spirits have unfinished business. In some case, they feel sorry for what they have done and to seek for forgiveness. For this, I will help to mediate the situation for the deceased and the living one. I always source for divine guides to help me with negotiation and to give the deceased a purpose to move into light for healing and/or enlightenment. For some cases, I help someone in their death bed to cross over. Sometimes, they are already unconscious and I help to pass messages or last wish to the family members. It is a BIG work. Working with deceased loved ones through love and compassion can help to transcend pain to love for the dead and living. When your love is big, they are not scary at all. They need help to move into light. 🙏🏾💓 This is a big part of my healing work and I hold it close to my heart. I never quite share it because people are scared or skeptical. It’s been a calling. Continuation to my previous post regarding cemetery / graveyard work and etiquette: As mentioned previously I am a firm believer that one must build a proper relationship with the place and it's spirits before even considering to begin any sort of work or transaction. There are many superstitions related to such places that in my experience are really just "good manners." Ex: Apologizing and acknowledging if you have to step over a grave. Or thanking / acknowledging if you would like to approach any grave of a party that is unknown to you. ~There is also another superstition regarding taking photographs in such places. ~In today's society such maybe commonplace as cameras are everywhere. Some really don't mind. However, a general practice I try to follow is not taking or sharing any "giveaway" indicators or if I do take capture such an image? I will leave some sort of offering to show gratitude. Regarding Cemetery/ Graveyard work: After my recent relocating I discovered that I was particularly drawn to the graveyards in this region. With this I would like to share my personal general pointers on working with such places. First and foremost: Always enter with the utmost respect. This includes being mindful of the customs and rules of place. Honoring even the mundane rules such as times the space is open / having otherwise permission to enter. Introductions and greeting The Guardian: All such places have a Guardian. Much like how this is taught to us through many tales of folklore and mythology. Entryways to The Underworld or "Other Worlds" have a guardian at the gate. This system applies to entering graveyards or places of the dead. As such are liminal spaces. It's always a general good idea to leave some sort of offering to The Guardian (like maybe a few coins) also introduce yourself. Take time to get to know the forces and spirits I know it's popular nowadays to "collect graveyard dirt" or "do work in the cemetery" However, I firmly believe that one should build a relationship with such a place before doing that. After all; it's not very respectful to just "barge in" and demand things. If collecting ANYTHING from such a place ALWAYS leave an offering or payment in exchange. *I would also advice to not even start doing such transactions UNTIL you have formed some level of relationship/ agreement. I would not advise taking anything from a grave (yes even dust or dirt) unless you have some sort bond or understanding with the spirit there. *Safest place to start is with ancestors or a spirit you have connection to already* Otherwise it's best to first build an agreement or relationship with the spirit there. Also following general respectful gestures. Cleaning up the place and mindful that this is also a place for loved ones to honor their ancestors. Scapulas; of the Bovidae and the Sciuridae families. Cow and Squirrel. Their skeletons were found within inches of each other, one obviously had been there for a while, weathered by the elements, while the other was a few weeks fresh. Discovered in a death pit off a logging road. It is always striking when coming across these pits; heavy, yet exhilarating... always loud with pain. These dumping grounds are where hunters, homesteaders who wish not to deal with byproduct, and roadkill clean-up crews toss corpses. Generally every community out in the sticks knows where they’re located, but are quick to keep their lips shut when an outsider inquires. I’ve never stumbled across one on good terms, it’s either by a dog sniffing it out and stepping in late stage decomp, or a fierce pull of negative energy begging for some light. Although not all of these friends are/were uneasy in their death, the circle of life is the circle of life and Mother Nature need no explanation, but being thrown away like last weeks rotten groceries is something I can never settle with. Most are given back to the earth with a proper burial, but some come home with me.. some come home with the dog, unbeknownst to me until I find a random chewed up rib under the car seat.

I want to talk about what happened with today’s spread. I do not condone spreads like this and I acted irresponsibly by not looking more closely at the questions before pulling the cards. When using divination to contact the dead you should always have a particular person in mind rather than opening the door for anyone and everyone. I also neglected to put up boundaries to prevent negative entities from coming through. I am leaving the post up as a lesson of what not to do. I will also be sage cleansing my deck and space.
Ironic how science and spirit are *seemingly* always at war with each other. A few weeks ago, while enjoying a sunset drink at my rooftop bar (I love prosecco if you are wondering), I got into a deep convo with my neuroscience medical doctor/consultant neighbor (no really, she is!) about the overlap of science and spirituality. Admittedly, I initially thought I was going into battle to explain and provide the PROOF for my reasoning and knowing...that at the end of the day, everything is energy and so the 'woo woo' can be scientifically proven, especially in the arena in which I play: energy (channeling), consciousness, trauma healing, how beliefs drive our behavior, epigenetics and all. Seems we KNOW all this, but we FORGET it in our day to day living and struggling to survive. It got me thinking about how much I know, how much I've learned, how much I've studied, how much I've trained, how many hours I've practiced (alone on self, and with others) to be able to do what I do... ...and how much I'm still learning, deepening and evolving everyday in this work. Did you know there are COUNTLESS STUDIES that link ancestral trauma and intergenerational transmissions to behavioral issues in children, DNA changes and deficiencies, and psychological coping mechanisms!? Although death brings an immediate change to the person in the absence of physical form, there is no similar such dramatic change to personality, knowledge, awareness, or morality. We are not suddenly wiser but very much still as we were in life. This means that if we were generally unkind and paranoid in life, these traits would follow us into death; we would not, by virtue of being dead, suddenly be able to see our cruelty and paranoia in an objective way and certainly not in anyway that implies we would necessarily feel regret for our actions in life. Our interactions with the dead can feel very much as if we are speaking to someone sitting right across from us, talking to us calmly and with humor. But it can also mean that our interactions with the dead are much more guarded, such as when we encounter a spirit still caught in the anger or fear that consumed them in life. Personality exists after death, yet the lack of physicality means that the energies that clung to us in life affect us more strongly without the physical body to act as a buffer. We are responsible for every spirit we bring into our homes -whether through deliberate acts, such as calling in spirits as part of a ritual, or unintentionally, such as when we leave ourselves and our homes unwarded and bring something in with us. Sometimes, that responsibility will look like making sure that spirit is comfortable, that they have something to drink and a nice place to sit. And sometimes that responsibility will look like ensuring our guest understands that they have overstayed their welcome. Hospitality goes both ways and a good guest knows when to leave. When they don’t, we are obliged to ourselves to assert our right to our space. When working with the dead, a prepared working space can help to establish boundaries ahead of time, reinforcing to the dead that they are your guests -and that you expect them to leave when the work is done. A prepared working space also helps you to establish protocol, provides additional means of vetting the dead, and ensures that you have the materials on hand to respond to the needs of the situation, be that helping that spirit to break free of the residual energy of trauma that keeps them tangled or be that sending a suddenly hostile spirit out of your working space and your home. One of the beautiful things about witchcraft is what a simple and pragmatic craft it is. The seemingly most innocuous actions -such as respectfully gathering a leaf, carefully drying and storing it, and burning it with deliberateness and care- are able to accomplish such remarkable things -like strengthening our relationship with a powerful Deity or removing the tangled and choking energy surrounding an ancestor that causes us to hold ourselves back. We don’t need to go through complicated rituals, recite copious lines of memorized text, or obsessively collect expensive objects. Instead, we can look to the land, the source of witchcraft, and find the knowledge we seek for whatever task we find ourselves facing. Disquiet in our hearts over our past can be met with answers found at a river’s edge. Pain in our families over patterns that keep repeating no matter what everyday action we take can be met with assistance provided by a biting, thorny plant. We are each empowered, through merit of our being and through our efforts to stand within the liminal power of the witch, to face whatever challenges approach us and know that we stand a fighting chance, to know that there are no inherent limitations that prevent us from achieving what we set out to achieve. Working with the spirits on this Saturn day. I love visiting old cemeteries and collecting graveyard dirt. I find the older the cemetery, the more the tombstones disclose about the spirit while alive making it easier to align with specific spell work. I collect soil from sites with the utmost respect for the deceased. I always ask for permission prior to entering the cemetery and ask to be led to the sites of spirits willing to work with me. I leave rum in place of the soil collected along with coins as offerings and always with gratitude.🙏🏻 Do you collect graveyard soil and if so how do you go about collecting yours?

With Valentine's day around the corner, I know a lot of people are reminded of those special to them, or of wanting to share their time with the person they may have not found just yet. "Spirit/Ally Day 8 of the #autumnwitchphotochallenge 💖 Not all people that call themselves "Witches" have any kind of working relationship with spirits. I mean "working", by acquiring their assistance in magickal workings. Many have ancestor shrines, but have no working relationship with any of their ancestors, and sorry to say, but placing a glass of water on a shrine, burning some incense and lighting a candle does not constitute a working relationship with Spirits. The same goes for " Spirit guides" which is a term that was created in the "New Age" era, and is really only a connection to the unconscious higher self within. And, not an actual Spirit or Spirit working, and not a part of Witchcraft. Witches are called. The spirits call on the Witch to work with them. When it happens, it usually always happens in childhood, but sometimes also after long illnesses or near death experiences. But all Witches that receive the call, get different calls. I like to call them, different jobs. Though none are more important then any other call, or job . There are Witches called to work with Spirits of animals, and we do shapeshift. Some Witches are called to work with Spirits of the land. Some Witches are called to work with elemental spirits and some with Spirits of different kingdoms and dimensions. Some work with Angels and Demons (Yes these are considered spirits too) and some are very skilled at manifesting Servitors, created to come "alive" and do tasks for the Witch. And finally, Some work with the dead. Some cross over and work with many of the forms of Spirit work above. I do. I'm one of those Witches. But my call happened at the age of 7 by a newly deceased Uncle. The story of this encounter is told in "My story" on my Facebook business page. Client's spell work I did for her these past 2 weeks..she past her test this past Friday..a requirement she needed for her job..kept getting butterflies on her candle. I even had a butterfly in my house the night before she took her test.. Butterflies represent a beautiful change you are about to receive soon.. I do a sigil on each candle I work with, followed by its specific oil, then herbs and maybe flowers to their associated workings, and last glitter so that I can be given a symbolic symbol..or message..
