📚👭🏾🌎 Pluies et vent sur Télumée Miracle de Simone Schwarz-Bart @maison_schwarz_bart En ce mois de mai durant lequel je pense qu'il est important de célébrer la culture Caraibes, plus que "l'abolition de l'esclavage", j'ai décidé d'enfin lire une œuvre de la grande autrice guadeloupéenne Simone Schwarz-Bart. Pluie et vent sur Télumée Miracle, c'est l'histoire de Télumée; racontée par Télumée elle-même. De son enfance à sa mort, Télumée nous raconte d'une manière authentique et vraie son quotidien dans la Guadeloupe rurale du début 20ème siècle, sa magnifique relation avec sa grand-mère Reine sans nom (le décés de sa grand-mère est juste bouleversant d'émotions et de dignité), sa difficile relation avec les hommes, ses joies, ses peines ... une vie quoi 🙌🏾. L'immersion dans la #guadeloupe de Fond-Zombie à travers la plume de #simonescharzbart est juste incroyable : j'ai ressenti la chaleur humide des bois, j'ai entendu le bruit de la rivière,.... L'auteur nous plonge aussi dans l'enfer de la #canne : je ne peux pas commémorer l'abolition de l'esclavage, car après 1848 mon peuple continue de souffrir (et ce n'est pas terminé 😔). Et puis il y a toutes les traditions gardées de nos ancêtres africains, qui sont devenues les traditions caribéennes mais qui ont bien une origine commune. Un autre thème évoqué dans ce chef d'oeuvre, c'est bien sûr tout l'univers mystico magique propre à nos îles (là encore, comment ne pas faire un parallèle avec le #vodoun au Benin 🖤). Merci à Simone Schwarz-Bart d'avoir raconté l'histoire de nos grands mères, oubliées de l'histoire #transmission #voixdessansvoix. Merci de rappeler la richesse et la puissance de l'histoire caribéenne. Un livre à lire donc, un #classique de la #litterature ... une fois de plus, je pense que ce livre devrait être dans les programmes scolaires. New Orleans Day 5 - up early to do the @cajunencounters Swamp tour which was excellent. Got to see racoons, snakes, turtles and of course gators. Quite a lot of gators in fact. Back to the city for lunch and some ice tea and then onto the small but perfectly formed @pharmacymuseum which show cased some of the wild treatments humans used to subject themselves to (feeling nervous? African Vodoun - Papa Ade This is usually a Vodoun who shows up when the family business deals with ushering souls. More so funeral/cemetery/psychic business. As an important Vodoun walking with me, I also recognize you can’t Google him. So I’ll give a bit of context. Papa Ade is called the “Hunter”. He is the Vodoun that goes to Zogbe (land of the lost souls), retrieves our ancestors, feeds/nutures them, and brings them back to ancestral lands. He is often connected to cemeteries and funerary rites/rituals. Not to be mistaken with Sakpata or Papa Elegba…who are Vodoun that work in collaboration with Ade.
