Thanks to @atriabooks #partner for this advanced copy! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I thoroughly enjoyed this wild (train) ride of a book. The concept was unique and the story was heavily character driven. There were so many mysteries to unravel as the story went on and I was left with a sense of closure at the end that I desperately needed after all the unanswered questions that were posed throughout the book! I also really appreciated the Agatha Christie vibes and the travel theme. This book is a perfect summer read! This @jaclyngoldis thriller was released on May 21, 2024 so is available for you to read now! 🚂 🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂 Reclusive, mysterious author Ginevra Ex is famous for her unusual approach to crafting her big bestselling thrillers: she hires real people and conducts intensive interviews, then fictionalizes them. Her latest main character, Rory, is thrilled when Ginevra presents her with an extravagant bonus—a lavish trip along Italy’s Mediterranean coast on the famed, newly renovated Orient Express. But when Rory boards the train, she’s stunned to discover that her brother, her best friend, and even her ex-fiancé are passengers, as well. All invited by Ginevra, all hiding secrets. With each stop, from Cinque Terre to Rome to Positano, it becomes increasingly clear that Ginevra has masterminded the ultimate real life twisty plot with Rory as her main character. And as Ginevra’s deceptions mount, and the lies and machinations of Rory’s travel companions pile up, Rory begins to fear that her trip will culminate like one of Ginevra’s books: with a murder or two. In the opulent compartments of the iconic train, Rory must untangle the shocking reasons why Ginevra wanted them all aboard—and to what deadly end. 🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂 #jaclyngoldis #themaincharacter #summerthriller #thrillerbookreview #newreleasethriller #thrillme #atriabooks #atriainfluencer

Thank you Atria Books, Emily Bestler Books @AtriaBooks @AtriaThrillers and Netgalley @Netgalley for the e-arc. All thoughts are my own. QOTD: How twisty do you like your books? Author Ginevra Ex is famous for her unusual approach to writing thrillers. She hires people to conduct interviews and fictionalizes them. Rory is her latest character, and Ginevra presents her with the opportunity to take a lavish trip along Italy’s Mediterranean coast. As she rides along, at each stop, it becomes increasingly clear that Ginevra has planted some mysterious twists along the way and its up to Rory to untangle things before it gets too deadly. This wasn’t a bad book, but this wasn’t exactly my favorite read either. I really didn’t like any of the characters, and I couldn’t find anything to relate to, or even root for them. They were written in such a way that it just felt that they were bland and lacked depth as well as emotion. I also found that they were very similar, so similar in fact that it was hard to distinguish whose point of view it was supposed to be each chapter. It got confusing and I tend to get annoyed when I spend too much time confused when reading. Once I finally got into the story around the halfway mark, it felt that one of the characters shifted and left me confused and this time angry, yet again. When I finally made it to the end, which honestly I am asking myself why, it just ended. Over. Done. The end. What? Things were left wide open in a very unsatisfying way. So many things about this book just left me unsatisfied, but hey it does have a really pretty cover and I’ve bought books for less. 📖ARC Book Review: The Main Character by Jaclyn Goldis ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Transporting. Multidimensional. Thought-provoking. Each of these phrases touches just a bit on the captivating tale told within the pages of The Main Character. A beguiling mystery mixed heavily with a generational family drama, Goldis outdid herself with her newest novel. What I didn’t realize before diving into the story, however, was how the whodunnit portion of the book was just the beginning. Above all else, this was a character-driven plot if I’ve ever seen one. With believable characters lightly painted with just a bit of fictional eccentricities, I got wrapped up in each and every one. No more, however, than Rory. With a startlingly poignant character arc and a persona that drew me in deep, I would have been happy to follow her to the ends of the earth. At the same time, I loved the rest of her party and was happy to soak in the unfolding puzzle. As for the plot, it was certainly an homage to Agatha Christie, but it was also so much more. Dredging up complicated feelings on decidedly relevant topics, the focus on antisemitism resonated strongly for me. Adding a depth to the storyline while also lending an original spin, pinholing it as just another take on a classic Golden Age whodunnit would be a disservice. Instead, there was wisdom, insight, and sadness to what I would rather classify as a cross-genre tale. All in all, told via multiple POVs and dual timelines, this book not only lived up to The Chateau, but perhaps surpassed it. With an evocatively drawn setting, clever twists, and one jaw-dropping conclusion, I’m already eager to read the next book in Ms. Goldis’ arsenal. Just don’t expect a straightforward mystery of the type personified by Christie. After all, that was just the starting point. Where it went from there, was all down to the author’s own gifted mind. Rating of 4.5 stars. Thank you to @jaclyngoldis and #partner @atriabooks for my free copy. All opinions are my own. 👉 Head to my Amazon storefront to order. I get a small commission and would love your support (link in bio)! ⁉️QOTD: Would you be willing to be a main character muse for an author? Why or why not?

This one’s out now! This was such an atmospheric and claustrophobic murder mystery! I was hooked immediately by the concept and I always find the book within a book plot incredibly intriguing and engaging. We get entertaining unreliable narrators in a locked room scenario that’s tense and extremely dramatic. With secrets, lies, deception, galore, I found myself continually saying just one more chapter until I was suddenly done! I really enjoyed how Goldis sprinkled in some historical fiction elements in this one just like she did in her debut! The ending wasn’t what I was expecting but it was ultimately shocking and satisfying! 💭Do you consider yourself ‘The Main Character’ type of personality? ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Goodreads - 3.57 Genre - Thriller #TheMainCharacter #JaclynGoldis #SimonAndSchusterCanada #SimonSchusterCanada #AtriaBooks #AtriaThrillers #WhoDunIt #MurderMystery #AgathaChristie #MurderOnTheOrientExpress #ThrillingRead #Thriller #MysteryThriller #ThrillerBookAddict #ThrilledByThrillers #ThrillerBookBabe #BookLover #BookedUpBabe #BookishCanadian #ThrillerThursday #LitChick #CanadianBookstagram #PlantsAndBooks #BooksAndPlants

The Main Character – Jaclyn Goldis ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Thank you @atriabooks & @netgalley for sending this book for review. Opinions are my own. I loved Jaclyn Goldis’s last book, The Chateau. Unfortunately, I didn’t connect with this one as much but there were elements I enjoyed. Like The Chateau, The Main Character has five points of view – Rory, her three friends, and famous novelist Ginerva who writes books based around real people that she adapts into her main characters. After her novel about Rory is done, Ginvera sends Rory and Rory’s brother, best friend and ex-fiance on an Italian train trip. Secrets begin to unfold and Ginerva promises to reveal all when they get to their final destination. However, Rory is concerned this trip will play out like one of Ginerva’s murder mysteries and we know from the beginning that someone dies on the train. I found this book pretty slow for the first 75% but picked up as I read to see who dies and what everyone’s secrets were. The author’s note makes it clear that this was a personal novel. A lot of her father’s childhood hiding his Judaism in the Soviet Union is given to Rory’s dad. I enjoyed the Jewish representation, especially about a time and location I don’t think is often captured in novels. However, I think as a result, she tried to do too much to make everything fit the narrative, and some things felt a bit random. Sadly, some of the quotes about Jews being persecuted are again relevant today, as antisemitism is rising. Against this backdrop and reading this book around Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, this quote rings true: “Jews had a moral responility to save one another – because, by and large, no one else in the world could be relied upon to do so.” I will definitely read Jaclyn Goldis’s next novel, The Safari. I love her writing and the exotic settings of her books. Thanks @electric_bookaloo for the book discussion! QOTD: Would you want to be the main character in someone’s novel? Happy Pub Week! Thanks to @atriabooks for allowing me to join in on the pub week fun with Jaclyn Goldis’ newest release, The Main Character Out now! Synopsis: Reclusive, mysterious author Ginevra Ex is famous for her unusual approach to crafting her big bestselling thrillers: she hires real people and conducts intensive interviews, then fictionalizes them. Her latest main character, Rory, is thrilled when Ginevra presents her with an extravagant bonus—a lavish trip along Italy’s Mediterranean coast on the famed, newly renovated Orient Express. In the opulent compartments of the iconic train, Rory must untangle the shocking reasons why Ginevra wanted them all aboard—and to what deadly end. Another stylish and compulsively readable mystery from Jaclyn Goldis, this is the perfect read for fans of Ruth Ware, Lucy Foley, and Paula Hawkins. Excited to read this one soon! Thank you @NetGalley @JaclynGoldis @AtriaBooks @AtriaThrillers @Simon.Audio for the advance copies of The Main Character for review! I loved The Chateau & dare I say I love The Main Character even more!?! Ginevra Ex is an author with an out-of-the-box method for writing her stories. She chooses a real-life person, investigates into their background, interviews friends, family, employers, etc. – learns all she can & then writes a fictional story based on that information, but is it really all fiction? Rory is her latest character who Ginevra has surprised with a trip along Italy’s Mediterranean coast on the famed Orient Express (yep, THAT Orient Express). However, Rory is surprised when her BFF, brother & ex are also on the trip after being invited by Ginevra. Just what exactly is Ginevra up to? Her book is already written after all. There are lots of secrets amongst the guests as well as Ginevra herself. Will Rory figure it all out before they come to the same demise as one of Ginevra’s novels? It took me just a little bit to get into this story. It had a bit of a slow start for me, but once it got going, I was wholly invested & couldn’t put it down. Obviously, I loved the premise of the mystery & shadiness going on aboard the Orient Express, but this book was more than that. I loved the chapters that flashed back to Ginevra’s history, which 100% ties into the story, you just have to wait to find out how. Of course, there are lies & deception & such unbearable heartache. I did not expect to feel such a deep sadness for certain characters. I thought this book was very well done & cannot wait to see what Goldis comes out with next! #TheMainCharacter #JaclynGoldis #May #2024 #Bookstagram #Read #Reading #TBR #MustRead #NewRelease #Bibliophile #Books #ARC #Review #Audio #Audiobook #Mystery #Thriller #Suspense #Fiction #Adult #MurderMystery #Drama #Italy #Travel #Rome #Positano #Death #Secrets #OrientExpress

First off, thank you so much to @atriabooks and @netgalley for providing me with an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review! I was so excited to dive into ‘The Main Character’ because I love reading books about books, and I’m a sucker for mysteries. Mastering the many twists and turns that mysteries entail is a true skill, and I was ready to put on my detective hat once I started this one. The story follows a woman named Rory, who has just boarded the Orient Express. Her 3-day vacay is courtesy of a famous writer named Ginevra Ex who has interviewed Rory to become the main character in her newest fictional thriller. However, when Rory boards the train, she is surprised to be met by a few people from her past, all plotted by mastermind Ginevra. Throughout the three day excursion, their secrets are all revealed —thanks to Ginevra’s book — and these secrets are eventually big enough to lead to an off-the-page murder. While the first chapter of ‘The Main Character’ teases the big murder that takes place, the pacing mimics more of a complicated family drama as we wait for the actual murder to unfold in the last quarter of the book. The relationships between the characters and the secrets they are keeping from one another take center stage instead. While murder does eventually take place, this story felt like it falls into a family drama genre more so than a murder mystery (as implied by its Agatha Christie comparison and Orient Express setting) — so if you enjoy stories about dark family dynamics over suspenseful murder mysteries, this could be the book for you. ‘The Main Character’ hits bookstores today! 📖 #themaincharacter #orientexpress #drama #jaclyngoldis #bookstagrammer #bookheart #iheartbooks #bookclub #booktalk #bookstagram #bibliophile #bookish #bookworm #booklover #reading #booksofinstagram #igreads #idratherbereading #iheartbooks #theorientexpress #publicationday #netgalley #atriabooks #murderontheorientexpress #mystery #agathachristie

💜 ARC REVIEW 💜 The Main Character by Jaclyn Goldis Publication date: May 21, 2024 - Today! Thank you @atriabooks and @jaclyngoldis for the advanced copy! Reclusive bestselling author Ginevra Ex has planned an exclusive trip aboard the Orient Express in Italy to celebrate the completion of her newest novel, for which Rory’s life is the inspiration. She has invited Rory’s closest companions and supplied them all with a copy of the book which holds all their darkest secrets. Tension between the characters mount as the claustrophobic atmosphere of the train presses in. Why was Rory chosen as the main character? Whose secret is worth killing for? I really enjoyed this mystery and its nods to Agatha Christie. It really delves deep into the relationships of all the characters, but what was most intriguing to me was the story of Ginevra herself and her relationship with her twin sister. The ornate train and picturesque Italian locales are the perfect background for this murder mystery to unfold. And as Ginevra’s deceptions mount, and the lies and machinations of Rory’s travel companions pile up, Rory begins to fear that her trip will culminate like one of Ginevra’s with a murder or two. 🎟 Thank you @atriabooks for the gifted copy! I can’t wait to read this one. I’ll be adding it to my TBR for this month. QOTD: Have you ever been on a long train ride? 📚Book Review⁣📚 ⁣ The Main Character, by Jaclyn Goldis, is a new book out today. It has a great premise where a reclusive bestselling author hires one person to be her new main character. She interviews them and the people around them to bring detail and authenticity to her new novel. At the beginning of the book, Rory is getting ready to board the famed Orient Express, a dream trip paid for by our author to thank her for being her new main character. Her contract is up and now she can relax and get back to her life. When she boards the train, her brother, ex, and best friend are also on the train, a surprise from our mysterious author. All of these relationships are complicated, but they look to make the most of this trip. As the first day begins, secrets start to unravel the calm vacation mode, and Rory starts to wonder if there are sinister motives behind this dream trip. Being the main character in a murder mystery novel may not be the adventure you were wishing for. ⁣ ⁣ I liked this novel. It starts with this great premise but then dives into the lives of our main characters with a slow-burn intensity. There are multiple POVs, allowing us to see motivations and insights from many characters, including the mysterious author. Agendas and connections start to reveal themselves just when you need things to move along. The end brings twists and revelations, connecting the dots on this trip of a lifetime along the Italian coast. I do think the multiple POVs don’t always work in the books favor, but I still enjoyed my reading experience. I am a mystery/train lover, so this was fun for me. ⁣ ⁣ Thank you to @atriabooks for this gifted copy. I will definitely read this author again.⁣ ⁣ ❓Have you ever been on a train trip?⁣ ⁣ I have been on local scenic ones, and there is a train transportation museum near me that is fun to visit. I hope to one take the one through Canada. I envy my European friends for their access to train travel. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #booksbooksbooks #bookworm #booklover #bookish #book #booknerd #readers #readersofinstagram #reading #themaincharacter #newrelease #mysterybooks #thrillingreads #orientexpress #trains #italiancoast

Book Review 📖🚂 The Main Character by Jaclyn Goldis Thank you so much @atriabooks #atriapartner for my gifted copy. Blurb: A bestselling thriller author arranges a luxury train trip that is. It what it appears to be. ✨ My thoughts: I’ve written and rewritten this review several times and every time it comes out a review of spoilers so I’ll have to keep it short and sweet. The Main Character is an atmospheric read that you will easily be immersed in as Jaclyn Goldis sets this beautiful backdrop and we get to just sit back and watch this story unfold. To say this story is packed with drama and deceit would be an understatement. With the amount of secrets this story holds, you will find yourself entertained throughout. I would say this is more of a light* mystery and a bit of a slow burn. Many readers will enjoy this one especially if you enjoyed The Chateau! The Main Character is out TODAY 5/21/24! Happy publication day 🎉 ❓Happy Tuesday, Friends!! How has your morning been so far? I’ve been up since 3am (not on purpose) but I was able to get some books finished! Happy Publication Week to THE MAIN CHARACTER!! Big thanks to my publishing partners @atriabooks for my copy. Reclusive, mysterious author Ginevra Ex is famous for her unusual approach to crafting her big bestselling she hires real people and conducts intensive interviews, then fictionalizes them. 💭🄱🄾🄾🄺 🅁🄴🅅🄸🄴🅆💭 🎟️🚂The Main Character🚂🎟️ Author: Jaclyn Goldis Pub Date: 05/21/24 My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I really enjoyed this book! At first I felt like I was reading slow and then hyper speed and also I was completely engrossed with the insight of the events and how life was for some in Russia among other spots in and near Europe in the 1980s. The Author’s note in the end really punched that storyline in and I am so grateful that I have been able to read her book early again! This one was an awesome nod to a Christie-like story mysteries, trains, and murder! What’s not to love!? I had such an excellent time bingeing this one!!! Thank you @netgalley and @atriabooks - Emily Bestler Books for access to this one!

💫 Book Review 💫 The Main Character by Jaclyn Goldis (U.S. Release May 21, 2024) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Main Character had me at inspired by Agatha Christie’s The Orient Express, plus I absolutely loved Goldis’s The Chateau. Her newest novel does not disappoint! Goldis seems to have carved out a niche for herself in a market saturated with thrillers as someone capable of keeping you on the edge of your seat while also infusing a good dose of history into her stories. First with The Chateau, and now with The Main Character, she has a talent for engaging the reader fully within the world of her stories and giving her characters motives that extend beyond the surface. It’s not just their present day personas we get to know, but everything that defines who they were and who they have become. I was engaged in the plot of The Main Character right from the start - everyone has secrets and you’re just dying to know what they are. Who is telling the truth? Plus, it’s clear Genevera has her own agenda and I enjoyed the snippets of her interview with Rory. Although this was in many ways a retelling of The Orient Express, Goldis makes it her own and keeps you guessing until the end. I did not see it coming - it was so devastating and so perfect. If you enjoyed The Chateau, then you’re sure to love The Main Character. Highly recommend! Thank you to @netgalley and @atriabooks for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review. Thanks @atriathrillers for the ARC and @simon.audio 💬What are you up to this weekend? Happy Saturday! We’re at the beach this weekend and even a little risk can’t keep my beach kids from playing in the sand. Standalone Format: 📘 and 🎧 Verdict: good but not blown away This is really a hard one for me to review. This was billed as a thriller, but I would put it in the historical fiction category more accurately, and that’s based on the fact that the author clearly is more invested in the past story than the present drama. I liked some things and not others. I think this will be enjoyable for anyone who goes in for a light thriller knowing it is more historical than an Orient-Express inspired story. I liked: 🚂 the descriptions of the luxury of the orient express and the different travel locations 🔀There were some shocking twists 🌏 The past characters were intriguing What didn’t work for ME: 🫓 PRESENT characters just didn’t feel like they had a lot of depth; more like each had a certain perspective and a few small facts and just kept spinning. 🤷🏼‍♀️There were 0 likable characters in this book. 📖There were still many things that were never explained or never came together, or the explanations seemed weak 🚂I would not compare this to an Agatha Christie novel. Note: I listened to the audiobook and do think it was well done with all the different narrators.

ARC REVIEW 📖THE MAIN CHARACTER📖 Author: Jaclyn Goldis Genre: Thriller/Mystery Pub Date: May 21, 2024 Rating: 3⭐️ First and foremost, HAPPY CATURDAY! This post brought to you by the main character in my life: Korra 🩵 The Main Character started strong in the beginning and seemed very promising. Starting off with a mysterious death and then going back three days to recount the events leading to that death had me excited. Alternating between 5 POVs, it seemed to have the makings of a fun murder mystery thriller. Despite having a strong start, the pacing drastically slowed in the middle a bit too much for my liking. I thought a couple days had gone by in the story, but as I read, I realized all that I had read had taken place in one day. The pacing and action didn’t pick up until closer to the end of the book. Unfortunately, I felt the story ended quite abruptly and didn’t quite hit the mark for me. Another issue I was having while reading was differentiating between the characters when the POV would switch. I’d find myself having to look at the chapter to remember which POV I was reading. What I did enjoy about this book were the descriptions of the Orient Express and of Italy. The setting is painted in such lavish detail, I could really get a sense of the expensive and ornate details of the train. And the images of the Italian towns were done so well, I could easily picture myself standing in these settings. I also had a strong craving for gelato while reading this 🍨😋 Thank you to @bbecca_marie and @atriabooks for the gifted arc! ❓Where would you go on your dream vacation? Money is no object!

📚 🚆 Book review: The Main Character by Jaclyn Goldis 🚆 📚 ⭐⭐⭐✨ 3.5 / 5 stars Publication date: May 21, 2024 🙏 Thank you @NetGalley and @AtriaThrillers / @AtriaBooks for providing me a free advance copy of this book. These opinions are my own. ✒ Synopsis Rory has just spent the last three months being interviewed by eccentric author Ginerva Ex. The bestselling author has a unique approach to crafting her main characters: she finds real people and mines their lives for content before placing them in her blockbuster thrillers. To celebrate the end of their time together, Ginerva has booked Rory on an extravagant trip on the Orient Express. But when Rory finds her brother, best friend, and ex-fiancé all on board the train as well, she begins to wonder whether Ginerva is still crafting a story for her. 💭 My thoughts The story begins with Ginerva coming across a dead body, which is identified as her flesh and blood -- setting the reader up to wonder who has died and how they are related to Ginerva. The narrative then goes back in time three days to follow the events of the train vacation and the POV shifts between the main characters. For a while, not a whole heck of a lot happens, and the book feels more like a character study (no surprise given the title). But as Rory's suspicions mount, the pace and twists pick up. I didn't guess the ending, which is always a plus for mysteries for me. 💬 QOTD: Are you the evil twin, or the good one? 🏷️ #bookreview #bookrecommendations #books #bookish #comingsoon #arc #TheMainCharacter #thriller #mystery #mysterythriller

Bookish quote for thought 💡📚 One of my favorite lines from the book. I know there are times when I DEFINITELY feel like Humpty-Dumpty, sometimes I’m not even sure if I’m trying to put myself back together or still just trying to find the pieces of eggshell that belong to me. But this life is worth living and I’m happily finding pieces of me that I didn’t even know existed 💖 Thanks to @jaclyngoldis for giving the right words to describe this feeling! The dream trip seems to good to be true, and when dark secrets are revealed and someone is murdered on board, Rory must figure out the truths that lie below the fiction. 💬 𝐌𝐘 𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒: 🚂 This gave me such Murder On The Orient Express vibes! A luxury train ride, no where to hide- I was excited about this premise since I saw @jordys.book.club praise for this book 🙌🏻 🚂 This story was told in multiple POV which I really enjoyed and allowed for a fresh take on the chapters. I liked getting into each character's head, and it definitely gave me more to wonder about who was telling the truth. 🚂 The Jewish history lesson Goldis gives in this book is so important! There are so many stories that need to be told! If you know a Jewish grandparent ( it doesn't have to be yours), please ask them for their story- you won't regret it! 🚂 This was more than just a mystery- it had elements of family drama, self-discovery, history, and even a love story. 🚂 Even though I didn't find the first half of the book terribly suspenseful, the last 50 pages or so had me glued to my seat it was such a page turner and I was shocked by the big twist at the end 😶 Thank you @atriabooks and @netgalley for my arc and ecopy in exchange for my honest review. 💭 𝐈𝐅 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐓𝐎𝐎𝐊 𝐀 𝐋𝐔𝐗𝐔𝐑𝐘 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐏, 𝐖𝐇𝐎 𝐖𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐘𝐎𝐔? #bookreview #whattoread #themaincharacter #newbook #bookblog #bookstagram

{book review} 🚂The Main Character🚂 Author: Jaclyn Goldis Pub Date: May 21, 2024 Thank you @atriabooks @netgalley #partner for the gifted eARC!! All aboard this choo choo train! Geneva is a famous author who has become well known for the unique way she goes about writing her books. She meets real people and asks questions, almost like an interview and then turns them into main characters in her books. The most recent “main character” is offered a free trip on a train in the Mediterranean. What is better than that?! When she arrives she realizes many of these characters look familiar too her and it’s not a coincidence. Her brother, best friend and ex-finance all have joined her. So what does Ginerva have up her sleeve? As time passes these passengers understand there is more at play and Ginerva has created a game similar to chess. Slow and methodical. Soon all the clues are uncovered and a shocking end is revealed! Thoughts: I was excited to grab this one as I really enjoyed The Chateau last year. I was delightfully impressed with this slow burn mystery that is very heavy in the characters development. I am a sucker for locker room mysteries and so being on a twin definitely checked that box. I found parts of this story a little slow but I enjoyed ultimately how this story unfolded and the twist at the end. The ending tugged at my heartstrings a bit as it uncovers a “what if” and “lost time” scenario. Those details in books always make me wonder if one small change happened how could it have ended up? Overall I enjoyed this mystery and will look forward to what Jaclyn writes next. 🚂 Have you traveled by train? If so, where? If not, where do you think the coolest place to travel would be? . . . #bookstagram #booklover #booklove #bookobsession #bookobsessed #bookaddict #bookaddicted #bookaddiction #bookworm #avidreader #avidreaders #booksbooksandmorebooks #bookwormsunite #read #readmore #readmorebooks #readlikebethany #themaincharacter #jaclyngoldis #reader #readersofinstagram #readersofinsta #readabook #bookblogger #booknerd #suspensebook #mysterybooks

. The Main Character - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pub date 5/21/24 (Ft. my helper making sure everything looks good for the pic 😂😺) Thanks to @atriabooks and @goodreads for the arc of this upcoming thriller! Keep an eye out for this one coming out next month. This book pulled me in from the beginning. I don’t know if it was from all the drama or the locked room vibe, but I was hooked on what was happening. All the characters had their quirks and secrets which made the story more interesting. I predicted a couple of the twists, but the rest had me shocked I was wrong. You are informed at the beginning that there is a death, but it is still shocking of who it turns out to be. I enjoyed the flash backs of Ansel & Genevra’s lives. It gave you insight to all their choices later on in life. I’m a sucker for dual timelines in thrillers. I love seeing how they converge in the end. I still had some questions at the end, but I was content with how everything came together. I would’ve loved a little more to the book to see how Rory’s life played out after everything that happened. I was rooting for her the whole time because her life was turned upside down then she was thrown into the train trip where nothing was as it seemed. Appreciate the nod toward Agatha Christie! 👏🏻 ❓Would you let an author make you the main character of their book even if you didn’t know how it would play out? #themaincharacter #jaclyngoldis #upcomingbookrelease #thriller #thrillerbooks #thrillerreads #thrillerera #bookreview #bookrecommendations #bookobsessed #bookpr #bookblog #instaread #mustread #agathachristie #readacrossamerica

Hello, ink drinkers 🤍 It’s been a long week and I am tiiirreeed, so I haven’t much to say. I’ve been reading this book very slowly along with like five others, none of which are entirely enchanting me, though it’s not their fault — I just have a lot going on and pleasure reading has taken a back seat 🤷‍♀️ Here’s to hoping the enchantment returns soon! ✨ #themagicofbookstagram #themaincharacter #currentreads #burnout #currentlyreading #booksbooksbooks
