Druhé diely sérii sú pre nás často menším sklamaním. Rovnaký pocit som mala aj pri Hlade bohů. Áno, stále mal autor rovnaký štýl ako v 1. časti, avšak sa bojovalo oveľa menej, veľa sme cestovali, pridal kvantum nových postáv (vďaka bohu za slovník na začiatku, inak by to bol jeden veľký chaos), neustále sme niečo hľadali a všetko veľmi opisoval, často také veci, osoby a udalosti, ktoré mi nedali význam ani na konci knihy. Mne osobne chýbala tá akčnosť, to množstvo krvi a rezkejšie tempo z predošlej časti. Stále som mala pocit, že toto je len nejaký predskokan k tej blížiacej sa vojne medzi bohmi, “polobohmi” a ľudmi. Dokonca sa pridalo ešte aj viac pohľadov, a to bol asi posledný klinec do rakvy v tomto prípade 😅. No stále sa mi páči ten príbeh, aj tá tematika. Orka je stále mojou veľkou obľúbenkyňou, preto bol koniec v tejto časti pre mňa smutný a som zvedavá na ďalšiu časť. Rovnako sa mi ľúbil priebojný príbeh Elvy. Vargov príbeh tu opäť pokulhával ako v prvej časti, tu tiež nedostal svoj veľkolepý koniec. Osobne si myslím, že keď ho toľko autor cvičí, pripravil si pre neho niečo grandiózne. Pridal sa tam aj Gudvar a Biór, ktorí nám síce ukázali aj iné skupiny, čo je z jednej strany super, ale z druhej zase veľký zmätok. Autor má veľký talent na rozvíjanie príbehu, vie mu dať veľkú podrobnosť a živo si viete všetko predstaviť. Ale miestami som sa tu nudila a mala som pocit, že sa nútim do čítania. Koniec (cca posledných 100 strán) ma však zase veľmi chytil, rovnako ako prvých 100 strán. No tých zvyšných 450 som bojovala a aj preto čítala popritom inu knihu. Plusom je, že nám autor na začiatku zhrnie celú prvú časť a tak si spomeniete na všetko. Páči sa mi aj ta severská mytologia a bohovia, nadchádzajúca vojna, aj Orka hľadajúca syna, autor tiež skvele spája jednotlivé linky a prepletá všetky postavy. Mágie máme tentoraz menej, ale keď už je, tak stojí zato. Bojov sa dočkáme asi v ďalšej časti, ktorá bude minimálne tak krvavá ako 1. ✨️ Spoilerfreie Buchrezension ✨️ I am Aelin Ashryver Galathynius and I will not be afraid. 💔 Ich weiß, ich bin damit nicht alleine. Aber vor dem letzten Teil der Throne of Glass Reihe hatte ich wirklich Respekt. Durch das Worldbuilding der vorangegangenen Bücher war klar, dass es episch werden würde. Und @sarahjmaas hat mich da nicht enttäuscht. 🥹 Ich habe das Buch mit @readingkaroline zusammen im Buddy Read gelesen und konnte es ab einem gewissen Zeitpunkt einfach nicht mehr aus der Hand legen. Danke, dass wir das zusammen gemacht haben, es hat so viel Spaß gemacht. 😍 Zusätzlich hatte ich wieder @midnightreaderslibrary an meiner Seite, die sich wieder alle meine Theorien und Schockmomente anhören durfte - auch danke dafür. 💜 Der letzte Teil ist mit wenigen Ausnahmen durchgängig das reinste Chaos - im emotionalen Sinn. Es passiert non stop irgendetwas und man rast von einem Angstzustand in den nächsten, weil man sich sicher ist, dass gleich etwas passiert. Das habe ich in dem Ausmaß glaube ich bei noch keinem Buch so erlebt. Und das bei über 1.000 Seiten geballter Buchpower. 🤭 Die Charaktere opfern sich auf für das Ziel einer besseren Welt und es war unglaublich, diese Reise zu begleiten. Zu meinen Lieblingen haben sich Manon, Rowan, Lorcan (ich will immer noch wissen, was er getan hat 🥲) und Gavriel (bin ich alleine damit, dass mich das nicht los lässt?) entwickelt. Aber was sag ich - ich liebe sie alle und kann nicht glauben, dass es vorbei ist. Den Klappentext findet ihr auf Bild 2. 🆀: Wart ihr schon einmal in Irland? Nachdem mich gleich zu Beginn des Jahres "Iron Empire" restlos begeistern konnte, war klar, ich muss unbedingt mehr von Emily Bähr lesen. "Salt & Sorcery" sprach mich vom Cover und Klappentext her sofort an, da ich über Selkies, der Mythologie nach Robbenmenschen, die sich an Land in Menschen verwandeln, indem sie ihr Fell abstreifen, bislang noch nichts gelesen hatte. Erzählt wird der High Fantasy Roman aus der Ich-Perspektive des Selkie-Mädchens Maebh. Ich mochte ihre liebenswerte und offene, teils auch etwas unbeholfene und naive Art sehr, da sie so unglaublich authentisch wirkte. Maebhs Faszination für den Hexer Ciarán konnte ich sehr gut nachempfinden. Ich mag Charaktere wie ihn unglaublich gerne - einzelgängerisch, undurchschaubar, düster. Nach und nach erfährt man mehr über ihn und seine Magie, welche er größtenteils aus einem Stab zieht. Obwohl die Geschichte auf nur 309 Seiten erzählt wird, ist es der Autorin gelungen, zwei facettenreiche Hauptcharaktere mit sehr viel Tiefe zu erschaffen, welche ich unmittelbar ins Herz schloss. Darüber hinaus trägt Emily Bährs bildhafter Schreibstil dazu bei, sich Maebhs und Ciaráns gefährliche Reise durch Irland, auf der Suche nach ihrem Mantel und seinem Stab, wunderbar vorstellen zu können. Einzig etwas schade fand ich, dass mir die ganze Zeit über bewusst war, es kann eigentlich kein wirkliches Happy End für Maebh und Ciarán geben. Und als schließlich das Ende kam, hat es mir für einen kurzen Moment wirklich das Herz gebrochen, bevor ein letzter Plottwist zum Glück doch für ein kleines Aufatmen mit - für meinem Empfinden nach - offenem Ende sorgte. "Salt & Sorcery" hat mir magische Lesestunden beschert und mich in ein traumhaft schönes Setting entführt. Hier trifft keltische Mythologie auf High Fantasy mit fabelhaften Wesen, wie sie mir bisher in keinem anderen Buch begegnet sind. 🅵🅰🆉🅸🆃: 4,5/5 ❤️ Leseempfehlung
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 2024 📚: 25 A Clash of Kings (A Song of Ice and Fire 2) by George R.R. Martin To be honest, I was a little disappointed by this book, though also, not surprised. I’m not a huge fan of Martin’s writing style. In the last third of A Game of Thrones his style seemed to change, and it continued in this book. We get a ton of scenes with lots of detail, usually it’s times where not much is happening plot wise. And I love that! I love books that write the small details in a compelling way. But then when the plot picks up he sort of drops the ball. Major plot points seem to happen way too fast or off-screen and it’s jarring, but not in a fun, shocking way. Maybe it’s because of the multiple POV style, or maybe just to keep the books from being 2,000 pages each, but I just don’t get it and it detracts from the experience for me. Also, this book was almost 1,000 pages and I feel like there were very few explosive moments. At one point I laughed pretty hard, and once or twice I was kind of shocked, but nothing really happened. Which is fine, I don’t mind a slow book sometimes. I was only bored for a few pages here and there (mostly during the battle scenes honestly, I’m just not a fan and I don’t think they’re written that well here 😬). But I still expected that more would happen in this book. I do think it’s a good book though, despite my issues, and I did enjoy it. I definitely plan to continue the series (after a bit of a break).

– buch review ⏳️ – Die Elfen • Bernhard Hennen ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Ich hatte ewig keine High Fantasy gelesen, und hier einzutauchen war n bisschen wie nach Haus zu kommen. 🙏 Vor allem, da ich vor Jahren schon Hennens Elfenritter Trilogie gelesen hab. Das Universum ist das gleiche und puuuh, der struggle war so real während ich versucht hab, mich an all die Namen und Orte zu erinnern, die mir hier vage bekannt vorkamen. 🥲 “Episch” ist so'n Wort, das ich mit 15 inflationär und seitdem verschwindend selten benutzt hab, aber hier scheint es nur gerecht. Ich hatte so viele ???LOL???? Momente beim Lesen und war gleichzeitig so begeistert davon, wie hier ein roter Faden gesponnen wurde. 😏 Bin sehr gespannt auf die anderen Bücher dieser Welt und darauf, wie die meine Meinung von Die Elfen womöglich noch beeinflussen. 🤞

It feels like it was written by an international author and i hope this book will gain traction. 🙏 this book is definitely going to be one of my recommended reads especially for those who are into fantasy and family power struggles! . . Standalone Format: 🎧 Verdict: a PERFECT ending Pub: June 4th What a perfect ending! How many times did I quietly sob in my car listening to this - I lost count! There has been so much planning and scheming and danger leading up to this finale and the tension was at the perfect pitch, the characters at their peak and have developed SO much. I loved every moment listening to this book even when I was shocked or upset, the tone and atmosphere was perfect. I could feel the danger and desperation, but also many loving moments. I LOVE how these different characters have interacted and the different relationships/connections that have formed. Everyone is flawed and morally gray and yet I continue to root for them. This is so hard without spoilers, but this was PERFECTION!! Note: I have listened to this series on audiobook which is FANTASTIC - you get different narrators for each POV and they are equally wonderful.

Wie bestimmt jeder andere auch, versuche ich zu schreiben, was ich selbst gerne lesen möchte und was mir Spaß macht 😉 Fantasy und Science Fiction begleiten ich schon mein ganzes Leben. Angefangen mit Der Herr der Ringe und Stargate und nun fortgesetzt durch die Werke von Autor*innen wie Sanderson und Wells, die mir mit ihren Romanen gewissermaßen zeigen, wo ich hin will. Ich liebe es neue und fantastische Welten zu bauen, mir ihre Geschichte auszudenken und (eher krakelige) Karten dafür zu erstellen. In dieser Hinsicht bietet mir die High-Fantasy (auch manchmal Dark Fantasy) die meisten Freiheiten meiner Kreativität freien Lauf zulassen ohne dass ich mir Sorgen machen muss dabei gleich die Logik unserer Welt zu zerstören. Das Genre hätten wir also schon festgelegt, aber worüber schreibe ich denn jetzt eigentlich? Ich schreibe über die Abenteuer und Reisen von Menschen in fantastischen Welten, in denen Magie und übernatürliche Wesen existieren und in denen Schlachten geschlagen werden, sei es gegen feindliche Armeen, die Natur oder das eigene Selbst. Ich schreibe gerne über Menschen, die sich entwickeln und verändern, die zueinander finden ohne sich verbiegen zu müssen, und gemeinsam für eine Sache kämpfen, für die es sich lohnt. Und was findet man bei mir eher weniger? Zum einen schreibe ich keine Romantasy. Es wird zwar immer irgendwo etwas Romance und Liebe vorkommen, aber das wird nie im Zentrum der Handlung stehen. Und dann gibt es bei mir selten bis nie ein reines Good vs Evil Verhältnis. Jeder hat Beweggründe für sein Handeln, manche nachvollziehbarer als andere, aber niemand wird zu 100% gut oder böse sein. Ich mag es Charaktere zu erschaffen, die irgendwo dazwischen liegen. Und zum Schluss, Credit needs to be given where credit is due. Die Inspiration für diesen Post kommt glasklar von @_arin_wolf_.
