One year ago today we bought property!!!!! AND now we are in the midst of building!!!!!!!! After years of dreaming, goal-setting and searching, we finally found our dream property to build on! 😭😭😭 Building our future home has been something we have talked about for YEARS! We’ve spent hours searching, driving by properties, walking properties and talking about all of our non-negotiables for said future property. Well, exactly one year ago today (May 10th), we viewed and signed on the property we now call ours!!! Such a DREAM. COME. TRUE. 🦋🩷 After walking it, we quickly realized it checked all of our boxes (even the super specific details we thought we’d maybe have to compromise on). Last August we officially got to call the land ours (after what felt like an eternity of waiting on our deal to close!). Let me just said, it has been SO worth the wait!!! 🙌🏼 We’ve spent countless hours soaking in the goodness, dreaming, celebrating, coordinating contractors & creating our visions all from scratch. 🥹💕 It’s all been so special and so much freaking fun!!! 🍾🍾🍾 We are so incredibly grateful & excited for this dream we’re bringing to a reality! 💫 I cannot wait to bring y’all along over the coming months as we build our home and get reconnected with life in the country! 🌞🤠🦋 Pictures speak a thousand words: 1-4. photoshoot we had to forever cherish this milestone w/ @photographybeitzstudios 5. experiencing our first gorgeous sunset last summer after a day of celebrating w/ our best friends 6. Hello friends! I am feeling called to share some of my favorite books I've read and that I like to revisit. This is one of my favorites that I read again entirely every couple years. Otherwise, I'll just read a chapter here and there when I need it. This book, Everything Happens For a Reason, is about finding meaning to the hardships or events in our lives that have had a great impact on us. This might be a good read if you’ve had a difficult childhood or marriage/relationship, or experienced health issues, or a bad accident. Or perhaps the loss of a loved one that has greatly affected you. The author, Mira Kirshenbaum, gives different meanings you can find to help you move past these experiences, and have a different perspective on them. It can help you move in a more positive direction or unlock blocks to move forward. I will post some of the meanings below for examples. This book has greatly helped my outlook on having chronic health issues, which were debilitating for some time. As well as other difficult life experiences, including difficult relationships. Putting this here because it’s easier to put it on social media so I can always remember this part of my life. When I was diagnosed with cancer and doing radiation I felt like it was the scariest time of my life…until a month ago. I meet with my oncologist every three months following a CT scan of my neck to make sure the cancer isn’t reoccurring. About a month ago after visiting him, he called me on my way to work to let me know on my last scan they found a 5 mm aneurysm in my brain. One week later I was meeting with a neuro surgeon. One week after that I had an angiogram of my brain to get a better picture of where the aneurysm was. Well it is very much in my brain behind my right eye and was measured at 8 mm. One week after that on April 25th I went into the hospital and had a platinum stent placed in my internal carotid artery behind my eye to hopefully shrink the aneurysm. The post procedure headaches were god awful to say the least, but have been mostly at bay since. When I thought cancer was scary, it now feels like a drop in the bucket. Knowing that I could’ve dropped dead at any minute and didn’t know it was much scarier. So today, I’m so extremely thankful for the cancer I had, and my amazing UPENN doctor @dr.rajasekaran for finding the aneurysm that the radiologist who originally read my scan missed. Sometimes when things seem horrible, it’s actually a blessing in disguise. #everythinghappensforareason
