Thank you all for the kindness, love, n support recently (and basically always, you guys are amazing) <3 I had a great first appointment with my new psychiatrist! And a little celebration brunch + matcha afterwards 🍵 I’ll be increasing my lithium in order to try to get to therapeutic levels. I’ve been on this dosage of lithium for 8 months and have felt better with it for the most part until now, but never reached the therapeutic level. And I’m also trying a new anxiety med to take as needed. I’m really hoping this helps with my overall mood, with less mood cycling, a more baseline of emotions + thoughts, and better sleep. I really just want to take care of myself, feel the best that I can, not go through so much mental emotional torture that mental illness can be, and be the best person, friend, and family member that I can be. 🌼 I’m feeling hopeful and optimistic! And very thankful that there is help and resources out there. Please remember, feeling ashamed and embarrassed of needing help is often really natural, but please release and let the shame and embarrassment go, and try your best to grab onto those resources around you. Advocate for yourself. Tell loved ones how you feel. Hold onto the hope of tomorrow. Hold onto life, yourself, and the love that’s in store for you in this world 🌎💛 Much love! He has been with me since the time I recognized myself. He would advise me, tell me what to do, and guide me. But his advice was useless. He only tried to do good things. What I wanted was more. I wanted to have more. I knew what I could do. He just needed to listen to me. Before he gave me advice, I would advise him. I would tell him what to do. And when he didn't, I would sometimes get angry. He knew I was right. Sometimes I would rub it in his face. He's foolish, weak, and timid. But I'm not. I'm not like him. I knew well what to do. I knew what was best for us. I didn't like the way he looked at me. I never did. I was tired of this life here, and he was tired of that life there. The only way was to "switch." I talked to him about switching. He quickly agreed because he was naive. We turned in front of the mirror three times. We had switched. I was no longer the one outside the mirror. I did everything as I wanted. I switched many things in our lives. We would talk sometimes, and I would talk to him about the changes. But he wanted to go back. He didn't like the world in the mirror. I accepted, and again, "we switched." He ruined everything again. So we switched multiple times. We experimented in turns. We learned and taught each other. Until the switch became too much. The last switch had a heavy impact on both of us. We no longer knew. Who was the one originally in the mirror? Which one of us? We didn't know. We fought on the surface of the body multiple times. Now we could talk in every reflection outside the mirror. We were both tired. The struggle continued for a year. Finally, we decided on "integration." We would both become one. Always together, always deciding together. It seemed like the best choice. Even without reflections, we could still talk. This continued for years. We were together. Over time, we began to ignore each other. Again, we needed reflections. We were forgotten. Nee niet echt, ik zie het allemaal wel. Het enige wat ik hoop is dat ik er niet vreselijk misselijk van wordt, want dat vind ik echt een ramp. Of ik denk/hoop dat dit werkt?!
