I have a day off today……. Currently sitting in GP surgery awaiting another blood test appointment. Yesterday, we headed over the border to Bonnie Scotland. The weather stayed dry for us, but it was a bit muddy. Lots of fun adventuring in the woods, in the stream, watching the waterfall. Miss W enjoyed taking her @gandys mini rucksack birthday present with her. Thank goodness we took our @hellomuddaddy for Maisie spaniel! It was definitely worth taking with us. Just because I live down a country lane on a farm estate, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t clean up after your dog. I was really annoyed to find someone dog poo on my lawn. I know it’s a trivial thing to most. But the hedge has been cut back, to give people room to walk safely round the blind bend. The dog poo was right in the path of anyone walking on the bend. Fantastic little Mummy - Daughter adventure to the big smoke! We went in numerous different shops & spent hard earned money. Of course we came home a book! I’ve order these waterproof label pouches for our @aquaplanet paddle boards. The other day, I saw a post of a SUP which had been found but there were concerns about the person. I was mentioned on the post that people should attach their details to their boards in case of an emergency. I don’t ever SUP by myself, I’ve always gone with @outdoorbikerveteran or our friends. Well, I’ve taken note of the request from the Mountain Rescue team & purchased these. I will be adding our details & then they can be attached to our boards ready for the next SUP adventure. However, I am really annoyed at the @amazonprime @amazonuk delivery driver. He didn’t knock at my door. He decided to open my front door to drop my parcels on the door mat! I’m fuming! The rain has been relentless recently! But, the hawthorn hedge is starting to sprout green. It’s cold, wet & rainy here………. Wood burner is on. Washing is done. I recently found out my Uncle Michael has passed away suddenly. He was not only my Uncle, but also my godfather. He was an amazing man, very interesting & intelligent character. He ran away to the USA, hitch hiked route 66………. So many stories! My Mum always said I got my rebellious streak from my Uncle Michael, as I walked out the front door to join my first protest as a young 16 year old, followed by “don’t you dare get arrested!” As I said he was real character! And in my eyes an awesome role model for being an individual & fiercely independent (just like his sister, my Mum). He was loved so much, more than I ever think he realised ❤️ Today, I framed the last photo he sent of himself to me. It’s framed next to a photo of my Mum (his sister) & my Nanna (his Mum). He told me that he had this same photo of me, my Mum & my Nanna on his desk. Thank you to those who have been supporting me over the last week. It’s been a lot to get my head around. I’ve still got a long way to go. But I’m so very thankful to those closest to me right now. So the weather is awful! But about a month or so ago, before I became sick, I planted up some shop bought, left over potatoes. They were sprouting a little bit. So, instead of chucking them into the compost bin, I thought I would do a little experiment with Miss E. We used a mix of our own compost & a bit of the shop bought stuff. We have five buckets of them. So far, three out of the five have started to sprout. As I’ve said it’s an experiment. We normally grow potatoes in the ground, but due to all the rain last year they failed. We have had so much rain this winter, I thought this might be a better way.
