What happens when you look for little miracles and signs all around you? You find them in little moments, such as the time I laid my necklace down to realize later it was in a heart shape. Or the time I opened a jar of honey and saw a heart. Accident? Coincidence? I no longer believe in that. The universe is always conspiring to show us what we need to see. To give us little nods to keep going. Sometimes the signs remind me that I do matter. That I am important enough to receive signs. And I know now that each one of us is important enough and capable of receiving signs on the regular simply because we were born! We didn’t come to be so sad, depressed…stuck. We came to experience all of the emotions, which yes, do include sadness, anger, and frustration. But we were never meant to get stuck in those emotions. There are so many ways to get unstuck, and the universe has brought me so many throughout these last 5 years. I haven’t always said yes, but when I did, my life would shift for the better each time. Did that mean life was always easy? Nope. But we are meant to experience ALL of the emotions, in order to work through them and heal. Friends, our God works in wondrous ways! Long story short, one child has had some major anxiety this AM. The bus was late today so we had extra time to read a devotion before school. Today I got the meeting place wrong to meet some friends for coffee which led me to a wonderful moment of pause with a tree and a creek. So the real question is, did I get it wrong or did the universe redirect me to what I really needed? I’ve been learning to loosen the grip around how my life flows, around redirections and schedule changes and learning how to let myself surrender and be led. This would’ve been Jan 1st, 2018. The state picked up a felony DV charge on him since I wasn’t able to convince the taxi driver to leave regardless of what the police had said. I would’ve been gone ALOT sooner had my ex not even thrown my new phone on the I 44, or if he’d just gimme a burner phone of his. How sick is that? Ppl in these crazy relationships trying to keep ur ex from getting into trouble. Unless you’ve ever experienced it. Words can not explain the trauma bond and abandonment issues I had since I was young kid. Yesterday started off as a really crappy day. With flights to Costa Rica cancelled last-minute, the stress of determining alternative plans when the airline wasn't interested in helping, to finding ourselves on a red eye flight, 2 stops and an overnight layover in Toronto before leaving for our destination (days after we should have already arrived). We missed out on an exciting part of our trip, including 2 night stays in a cloud forest, an amazing volcano with bubbling mud pits and a top-notch waterfall. We'll have to miss those altogether now 😭. I wasn't planning for the frigid Toronto weather so I bundled up in 4 different tops and placed a headband over my ears to keep warm, wearing glasses and not a lick of makeup. I was sporting thick hiking socks, which looked ridiculous with my hiking boots and skinny jeans, but I thought, "I'm in Toronto. Who's going to see me?!" And that's when it happened. That's when she walked right by me. It was completely surreal. Who would have known I'd get to meet one of my idols at a chance encounter on the streets of Toronto? If you haven't heard of Jamie, let me introduce you. She is an inspiring woman that has penetrated through online barriers to touch my (and tens of thousands of others') heart over Instagram. On her feed, she candidly and bravely bears her heart and soul about the struggles she faces every day as a transgender woman. She is so raw, so vulnerable, so REAL and I get emotional watching her stories and following along her journey. She's profoundly inspiring, discussing topics "outside of the lines" and teaching us the true meaning of love, overcoming intense challenges and honouring thy neighbour. Jamie confessed to me, too, that she wasn't having a great day until meeting me turned it around. Another example of how dogs are helping us heal, grow and learn about HONEST self-healing. Five days ago, Darcy developed a swollen inner eyelid. I know cornflower hydrosol can be soothing to the eyes in particular so I cleaned her eye and any bogeys with that. But it stayed the same so we booked a vet appointment. I could feel I was having a reaction to the situation, so, with all my awareness around blame versus self-learning, I did the mirror list on ‘vets’ to see if I had anything come up around my feelings on vets, while noticing what my honesty was about what her eye was bringing up for me. Today, Darcy’s eye is back to normal. Yesterday walking the beach, I had just mentioned to Ry that I needed to get a new wagon. (We previously used it for our bubba’s when he was having a hard time walking, but I wanted to get one to keep in my car for errands and what not) He said you don’t need it and I said I don’t necessarily need it for the reason he mentioned (details to come soon ☺️) but I wanted to have it for errands and stuff. After walking about 10 more steps trying to avoid stepping on the little jellies that had been washed up on the beach from crazy currents, I look down and see what I thought was a penny. It was quickly getting buried back under the sand so I rushed to grab it and low and behold after rinsing it off in the water, I realize it’s a dime. And these always come to me when I’m in need of a reassurance from bubbies up in heaven. Seriously how often does a dime appear let alone in the white sands of Destin, Florida. I was completely shook and amazed. This was bubbies favorite place just as it is ours. He loved the beach, he loved the golf cart rides, he loved the salty air, and this was the place we had our last trip with him. Sometimes we can want a relationship in our lives to “work” for us to the point we miss the synchronicity ( coincidences, to others) that just tell you the answer straight out with a yes or a no. In this meme we see God has given an entire 11 mathematical coordinates that the guy she wants is not the one for her. This fellow then texts the girl at 11:11 , she immediately interprets it as a YES from the universe. When in actual fact the 11:11 was coming through to back up 11 negative signs in their natal charts & there is that number again 11. I want to share a little something. Yesterday Cynthia and I went on a walk around the park behind our house. It was her idea to list 10 of our favorite smells. I thought it would take too much effort to think of 10 things so we settled for 5. Hers included rain, the ocean, and fresh cut grass. Mine were rain as well, baby’s breath, and my favorite perfume. Little did we know God wanted in on our “walk talks” You see Cynthia has an app that reminds her to read the Bible everyday (not that she reads the Bible everyday 🙈) but still this app reminds her she should. Today’s reminder was to me a sign that He is with us always. It really is amazing how He let’s you know that He’s there in little ways like this. Listen, I’m not saying I am perfect and that’s why I feel He’s with me. I’m saying if you seek Him, He will let you know He’s there and I seek Him everyday, constantly. 💫 DIVINITY 💫 . Here's how it works... . While I was in Thailand last year, I randomly went to a bee farm where they cared for all kinds of bees and made lovely natural products from their honey. I bought the nicest lip balm I've ever had and loved it because it's natural, organic and not made from any nasty chemicals (and because I'd met the bees who made it happen!) . Whenever my lips get a bit dry, I put it on. . I used it yesterday and was SURE I'd put it in my bag. . But then while I was getting all set up for my class at @davidlloydchorley this morning, I'd rolled out my mat, got my singing bowl ready and just wanted to put my lip balm on, it wasn't there! . Goodness knows where it is 🤷🏻‍♀️ . People who'd arrived in the class started asking me what I was looking for and I told them about this lip balm and why it was so special to me (because of the Thai bees) and one lady came over and told us about how she is a beekeeper and makes natural lip balm from their honey! . I can’t really explain why I began this new instagram account, but I felt prompted again and again, and so I’m obeying. I keep feeling like I’ve learned so much in our homeschool journey these past few years, witnessed the faithfulness of God along the way, and the beauty of obeying without understanding what He is asking me to do. And so, here’s my story. I clearly remember the day I heard God. June 2017. I know it was from Him, because it was a thought that didn’t come from me naturally and the idea of it scared me to death. The girls were aged 8 and 5 at the time. I was a parent helper at a farm adventure camp as my youngest was technically too young to attend, but the farm staff had granted permission if I attended with her. In the middle of cuddling baby goats, I heard a whisper so deep in my soul I got goosebumps. “Everyday adventures can be like this if you homeschool. There are so many ways to learn, trust me.” I dismissed the whisper in fear and disbelief. Less than 3 minutes later, I met a different parent helper at camp (there were only two of us, so it was rather obvious). I introduced myself, a rarity for this introvert. The woman explained she was a homeschool mom who helped at the farm, and her kids are active volunteers, nearly the same ages as my own kids.
