He used to let me play football w the boys and even not follow dress code where I was the only girl in class to wear a muscle tee lmao. Here is your reminder that your insecurities can be transformed into your confidence ๐ซ For a long time I would shy away from my white hair- cover it, dye it, hate itโฆ Until one day I decided to start embracing it for a change because I gain absolutely nothing by hating it. โ๏ธ I never truly gave myself the chance to see what works for me because I was too busy worrying about looking โoldโ or โcarelessโ and worrying everything else other than myself ๐ฆ I transformed that negative thought process into thoughts of confidence. It was definitely challenging at times. However I decided that I would embrace the โflawโ no matter how challenging. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made for ME. ๐ The truth is that it doesnโt matter what anyone else may think. It matters only what I see, think and feel. I now love this part of myself for so many reasons- it connects me to my ancestors, it makes me feel unique & even beautiful. CLIMATE CHANGE AFFECTS...as a very long time gardener...Romaine lettuce Galore!! Being a farmer/gardener for many decades raised with horses and chickens young. I've seen a lot change especially the environment. And its not good. Started gardening heavily in early 2007 everything was good or at least my neighbor Ed and I thought so... at the time. Crops were good, harvesting was great. Then little by little we started noticing changes. Certain plants weren't performing as well. Weather little by little was changing just enough for a farmer to take notice. By 2010 things had really changed how everything we grew was struggling. Drier summers or too much rain. It began to be unpredictable. So much so we cut back the size of our gardens...bees were even becoming scarce. Each year got worse, by 2013 I knew we were in serious trouble. So much so I stopped planting from 2014 to 2017 when I began again. Noticing then just how bad it was getting especially with the bees. I had bee balm planted everywhere for years. Ed had all the flowers that supplied bees and they barely came. Then I had to move tried a garden on Ted's property last year... some did well some didn't. Bugs were horrible. That's when I said no more and turned to indoor gardening with great success and a few failures. Yet, I keep going and it's been remarkable. To know I'm in an apartment achieving so much is so rewarding both products and spiritual. I think it's about time I properly introduce myself! I'm Poppy, a creative gal based in Bath, England. After 3 years living in Berlin and touring all over Europe as a singer-songwriter (see @poppyrosemusic), I decided I wanted a slower pace of life and moved to Bath to follow my passion of crystals. I currently make mindful crystal jewellery, and host music, gratitude and meditation workshops online. โจ๐ง ๐๏ธ I also co-host the @art.workconversation podcast! I've always been entrepreneurial and wanted to just work for myself: I used to grow tomato plants from seeds and sell them at the end of the garden to passers by for ยฃ1. And when I was focussing on my music in Berlin, I went busking, sold handmade CDs, and booked myself over 100 concerts: playing in tiny living rooms in Swiss and German towns, to supporting James Gillespie and Fieh at huge venues. I gave it my all and worked so hard finding new ways to make my own money - I just didn't want to have to get a "normal job". I've always been crafting, making cards, jewellery, knitting, baking, painting, collaging, stamping my own CDs - you name it, I'll make it. โญ Are you a crafty person? Do you like making things yourself? โญ As well as my handmade mindful crystal jewellery, I am also very passionate about meditation, and have been following the teachings of the Kadampa tradition of Buddhism for a while now. Through a combination of the Kadampa teachings and techniques, and my own intuition and crystals, I'm here to guide you through meditations in group workshops, and in 1:1 sessions, tailoring the meditation to fit your intentions.
