Who else has Spring bulbs hanging in there? 🤩 Some bulbs are starting to go over, others haven't opened yet while some are simply stealing the show like this gorgeous Sanne variety. Sanne is a lily variety due to its shape and the colours change as the flower matures from pink and cream through to apricot, giving off all the ombre vibes! The flower heads are pretty big and really create some impact whether they're in pots or a border. They make fantastic cut flowers if you want to bring your tulips inside and the TRPG experience this year has been, they really stood up to the wind and stormy weather. Near our outdoor dining table is the potted herb garden which contains Pesto Besto basil (that I started from seed), Phenomenal lavender, sage, thyme and flatleaf parsley. I recently found the large basket at an estate sale. I had the other basket-style pot and painted it white (and the rubbed dirt all over it for "patina") to match. Spring containers often have lots of yellow, purple, pinks and blues. Hydrangeas and daffodils lend themselves well to these classic pastel spring palettes- but we like to try new things and this year we challenged ourselves to incorporate the color red in a palette with the same plants we commonly use. Our inspiration came from the warm tones in sunsets! We used different shades, red pink yellow orange- all warm colors with similar tones and we love how it turned out.
