Garden update! It's currently in a complete state of dissaray ๐คฃ if you watched my stories a few weeks ago I was in the middle of relocating the children's wildlife pond... Which to be fair does look lovely and is in a much better position for the bugsss... Buddha is buzzin' SO...this all started because we have wanted a lazy spa for the summer months for YEARS and we finally decided to treat ourselves this birthday, we bloody well deserve it! (our birthdays are 5 days apart and we usually get ourselves a joint housey present ๐คฃ) Originally, we were going to put it in the corner of the garden, next to the swing set... But we'd have to move it back a tad, hence the pond move, but I really wanted to have it on the decking outside the French doors instead but it's just not big enough. We'd have to extend the deck. We were going to leave that til next year because of funds but the wisteria against this decking is getting a bit out of hand. I've wanted to put that on a pergola for YEARS. After we'd done all the work of shifting this and that I said SURELY it can't be that much more to extend the deck now and pop a pergola on. Pleeeeeeeeeeaaaaaase. Long story short, the hot tub is here and so is all the wood to extend the deck ๐คฃ Very excited! Two posts in one day so much to update you all on ๐ I think this has been our favourite transformation ๐ I mean the last photo is what we had and it didnโt really look like much of a garden did it with all that tarmac ๐ The tarmac came in handy though with making a path leading up to the top patio! We went with getting turf as to be honest we are impatient and didnโt want to wait for it to grow if we did seed ๐ it has taken to the soil really well thank god! Jem has been obsessed making sure it is watered every evening and it has shown with its growth already. THE GRASS IS GREENERโฆ.๐ฑ Before we became the new owners of our house, it had been left empty for five years. During that time the garden was neglected and covered in huge weeds and bushes. Before we started renovation works we cleared the garden ourselves to make room for the extension to commence. It soon became clear that once the extension was done we couldnโt leave the garden in the state that it was. Enter Danny @dts_construction and Billy @bil_cera who gave our garden the mini makeover it so very much needed. Over time we will plant some flowers and watch the garden blossom with colour ๐บ Until then I am loving looking out at the green grass space we are so very lucky to have. May 2024. It's still a mess but we're slowly getting there. I've gradually been filling the beds and the never ending paving is an ongoing process. There are some absolutely beautiful sandstone pavers here, check out the gorgeous fossil imprints on the last few photos. It is forecast for heavy rain all day today. So far we've just got fog and drizzle. If you listen carefully, you can hear the fog horn from the lighthouse. Although you may also just hear Emmie scratching herself ๐ I am having a moments peace to think about my planting. I was awake at half 3 for half an hour, then again at half 5, then admitted defeat. I came downstairs with Amber since she wasn't going back to sleep and of course, Amber went back to sleep now that we're down here ๐ Such is life.
