The Eve Illusion was just as great as the first book, the pace way great and the characters were brilliant. I don’t want to include any spoilers but the scene towards the end with the Freevers (Free-Eve-ers) really bothered me as it was a bit sudden and glossed over pretty quick and I also wasn’t pleased with the the little…erm…surprise at the end as I felt it went against everything she fought for in the first book but it was still logical and made sense so all is forgiven. I’ve really enjoyed these and was glad there wasn’t a lot of teen drama going on as that always irritates me, and so glad for an fmc who has her shit together and isn’t just looking for problems to mope about. Book Review - The Eve Illusion by Tom and Giovanna Fletcher 📚 3 Genre - dystopian, romance, sci-fi, young adult Pages - 400 This was my first random generator pick and what a great pick it was. I absolutely loved the first book in this series - Eve of Man - so I was super excited to jump back into this sci-fi world with Eve and Bram. We were literally left on a cliff edge in the last book! This book alternated between 3 different POV - Bram, Eve and Michael. Parent-child relationships were very much a theme of this one. I guessed one of the twists way back in book 1 but it was revealed so brilliantly. I guessed another twist during this book, because it just had to be true for everything to make sense, but it didn't spoil anything, just added more interest. I was not prepared for the level of torture in this book - it was extreme! Not sure how The Fletchers thought up those ideas, but I wouldn't want to cross them. It was so cleverly juxtaposed with the love that Eve had for Bram and her Dad. I loved that more traditional London buildings were introduced as well, it really helped imagine the scenes. Review time! 🌟🌟🌟 Im a little disappointed 😞 I was hoping for a bit more romance between Bram and Eve, hoping to see more of a relationship in this one, but hardly anything there to say its the second book of the series. Could just be me, but there was too much breaking out of the tower to only keep going back in it? Felt it was very repetitive 🙈 It was nice to read Michael's pov as well as Bram and Eve's in this one though, felt that it got my attention more though towards the end. The Eve Illusion by Giovanni & Tom Fletcher ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The second instalment of the Eve of Man Trilogy and this book takes us on the journey as Eve escapes the tower and learns about the world she didn't think existed trying to ensure her and her friends are not found and captured until she discovers they now have her father and she must get him back. I read this book in such a short space of time that I wonder if this contributes to my feelings about this book which were that I found it slow, it dragged and parts bored me but overall the story still intrigued me and I wanted to know what was going to happen. I did predict the ending but this hasn't stopped me from wanted to read the 3rd book when it comes out to see what happens next. Better late than never.... I finally finished The Eve Illusion by @tomfletcher and @mrsgifletcher last night! I'm not entirely sure what happened with this - I bought it immediately when it was released, and it somehow ended up sitting on my bookshelf since. I'm so glad I found it again though! This one picks up where book one ended, following Eve and Bram as they attempt to escape from the EPO so if you've not read this series yet, make sure to read The Eve of Man first. Some moments in this story genuinely shocked me and I really felt awful for what the characters had to go through. I didn't feel like it was the most fast-paced of stories but there were plenty of surprises, and that ending! 😯 I'm looking forward to reading book 3 when it comes out. From what I can tell, there has been some delays but 🤞 it won't be too long! Have you read this series? What do you think of them? 🦋The Eve Illusion🦋 Wow- this book is fabulous. What am I supposed to read next after such an adrenaline fuelled exciting read? I gasped out loud on the tube at the end. Now, as predicted, I cannot wait until book 3 is out in February! The way these are written draw you in so much you’re in their world, loving some characters, hating others, living the adventure with them. I can’t recommend these highly enough. The first two books are a wild ride & I will read book 3 as soon as it’s available….. although I think I’ll be sad for the trilogy to end. These special books could go on and on as they leave you wanting more. Update 2.2.24: The release date for the third book is now October 10th 2024. I felt nothing really happened in the first half of the book, but the 2nd half was full of action. They also leave us on a cliffhanger so I'm decidedly going to pick up book 3 when it releases (2024). This is a YA/Science Fiction series set in a dystopian world. Book Review 📚 The Eve Illusion by Giovanna and Tom Fletcher- 4 Stars ⭐️ I initially loved the first book but found myself struggling more with it towards the end. In this book I had the opposite problem, I initially struggled but loved the end. The Eve Illusion starts right where the first book finished. Eve and Bram fight for her freedom from the life she has been forced to live. But, is it possible for her to ever be truly free and is she safe from those who want her for their own gains? I struggled to get into this book initially. I had forgotten who one of the characters was, although that was quickly rectified as they played a large role in this book. I don’t know if it was my mood when I picked this up, but I found the plot was slower and less exciting than the first book. That being said, things started ramping up around half way through and continued to improve for me as the book went on. The last handful of chapters really blew me away and had me feeling all sorts of emotions. Although I had guessed the twist during the first book, I still felt excited when all was revealed. I found some parts to be so incredibly moving that my heart ached. I really love the unique concepts that are used in these books, the use of memories in this one had the psychologist in me absolutely enthralled. Overall, I found the ending so strong that it has made me super excited for the final book to be released. I cannot wait to find out what happens to all the characters and to return to this dystopian world. I recommend these books to fans of YA dystopian/science fiction reads. Hopefully all of you are having a nice day! And the weather wherever you are is not that cold. . . . Eve - after sixteen years of being a prisoner - is finally free! She has escaped with Bram into the unknown. She now goes into hiding as she fears that her captors won't stop looking for her. The Freevers swore an oath to protect her but is she just jumping to another prison? Eve knows that she's meant to do something and it's not to be a prisoner. . . . The sequel has added another POV which is Michael. I kind of don't like him because he's kind of a bland character but it's nice to see the POV of someone finally seeing the evilness of EPO. The story was still beautifully done but not gonna lie this has some kind of dead or filler scenes that were meh. It did not give me the rush like Eve of Man did. Rushless it may be, I still did enjoy it and find myself rooting more for Eve and Bram. Oh and that revalation! I kinda thought about it already since Eve has mentioned that change a couple of time but it still being revealed was amazing. That was such good writing! I almost screamed at the ending and I can't wait for book 3 (if there is! The Eve Illusion, by Giovanna & Tom Fletcher. Another 9/10. I loved this book as much as the first. I like how it explores Bram and Eves relationship, yet it doesn’t base the whole idea of the book on it, proving that Eve is more important than the relationship she’s in. I love Eves friendship with Michael, someone who could have originally been a villain (it shows what sort of person Eve is). I wasn't sure I'd read the follow up to The Eve of Man but when I found it in a charity shop I grabbed it. I can't say I remembered everything g from the first book but enough to understand the story. I did enjoy this one but felt for the first half of the book not much happened in comparison to the first one. ☆The Eve Illusion☆ This is book two in the Eve of Man trilogy and it's definitely different from book one. In book two it's more about Michael and his relationship with the organisation that protected/trapped Eve in the first place. Micheal is forced to do some truly horrific things and begins to see through the lies. Eve and Bram are underground and learning and connecting with the Freevers. But Eve cannot rest until she has one of the most important people in her life with her, so she will fight. The romance is very little in this book and zero spice, but what is there is good. I'm not usually into reading dystopian books, but I do enjoy this one and it made me cry way too much. Looking forward to the third book coming out. The only downside is that I found it rather predictable. #FinishedReading The Eve Illusion by Giovanna and Tom Fletcher ... ... This book picked up immediately where the first left off and added another voice in the form of Michael. With Bram and Eve in the same place together after escaping the tower, we needed a new way to see what was happening on the "villain's" side. Michael's chapters almost became the most interesting and, by the end of the book, he was the character who showed the most growth. Eve was frustratingly annoying - frequently selfish and I struggled with the concept of her taking charge just because of who she is. Bram was angry and overprotective and became a shadow of the character he was in the first instalment. I hope he comes back by the end of the trilogy. The book ending, while it made sense for the direction of the series, was predictable and just outright annoyed me. My reaction was pretty much 'Of course 🙄'. Younger me may have been excited by it and I am aware I'm not the target demographic. Now I'm two thirds through the overall story, I still want to see how it all ends. I love the action-packed plot and the bold, sharp writing style, both of which leave you breathless at times and have you sitting in discomfort, like Eve, at others.
