ʟɪꜱᴛᴇɴɪɴɢ ᴛᴏ ʏᴏᴜʀ ʙᴏᴅʏ 18.05.24 Listening to your body, how hard can it be?! Well 😂😂 really hard, for me atleast. These past few weeks, i felt pretty good. Yes, there was pain, like there always is for the past 2.5yrs, but engery wise, it went well. And boy, oh boy, when I feel like that I just want to do all the things, and I forget I have to take some rest too! So I've been going to the gym 2 times a week, been walking alot with the dogs, doing home workouts too occasionally, and so on... And yes, that's coming back at me now 🤦♀️ I know I have to take it slow, but I'm just not good at it! My body gives me those little signs, but for some reason, I still ignore them. And now my body is screaming, I screwed up! AGAIN! Now I'm feeling so so tired, and my body hurts so much extra on top of the pain that's always there. I can barely move, I'm nauseous the whole time, have a hard time eating and drinking, and a pretty big part is my own fault bcs I decided not to listen to my body, thinking I could handle it all just fine.. Well I couldn't 🤦♀️ I will never be able to live like I did before my car accident ever again, and I still have a hard time accepting that. Sometimes I truly feel like an 80yr old woman based on what I can do in a day... and that hurts.. alot.. So here's my advise of today my lovely friends, pls listen to your body when it whispers! Take some rest, don't keep going on and on, bcs you will be feeling a lot worse when that body begins to scream! Are you good at Listening to your body, and take a rest in time? HOLY-HYDRO‼️ So today..my first #hydrotherapy rehab session since my ankle/hindfoot/reconstructive surgery to my left foot!! And all I can say now is OUUUUUCHHHHHAAAA Cannot walk and feel like my feet are burning like never before! YES-it will do me good and strengthen my joints but NO-I did not expect this this evening I am DONE IN! Todays focus was walking in the water,then stepping, using the float noodle and then the flippers…being in the water is nice, it’s been so long! Yesterday day was difficult.....Opal started having #seizures last night & had to take her to after hour #emergencyvet They did #labwork and eval, her labs were fine and they just said bring her back if she had anymore seizure activity. This was very #scary and it's even more scary when you're watching your #husband not doing so well either. He just seems to be withering away; not eating much, because this time last year his #mom was lying in a #hospitalbed where he is now. Also #sleep escapes him. This is very #overwhelming. I hope that Opal's seizures are not anything serious and that Bobby gets better. He had #labwork yesterday and it wasn't that great. We see our primary dr Monday. Pathology did come back from surgery and some tissue was precancerous. Healing is slow and #tedious with new issues arising. If there were only 10 of me to do all that's needed. Just keep #praying and having #faith. So, after yesterday's ambulance trip to resus (fab paramedic team), i was sent home early hours as there were no beds. The proviso being I would be called in today to see the Endocrinology doctor. Just had a call, I can go into the SDEC department today and be seen, but not by Endo. They don't work weekends apparently 🤯😤 My bloods looked OK- high potassium, high neutrophil, low leukocytes, raised wbc but other than that OK. Probably a virus that triggered the crisis. I should just complete my steroids and antibiotics and if I gp downhill again, go back in. 🤷🏻♀️. I don’t know when guilt first crept into my life on a permanent basis, but I believe it’s when I first found out I was pregnant and recognized that I’d eaten blue cheese washed down with red wine before discovering I was in my first trimester 😱. However, guilt has kind of sat on my shoulder since becoming a parent & being in service 24/7 to my girls. 16 years is a long time to carry that load & I’m beginning to see why mid life crisis is a thang 😂. I honestly think it’s started when they they were in the womb being fed on a 24 hour buffet, I felt so immensely responsible. However, it’s become apparent that just as I am learning to gradually let go for my daughters to thrive, actually, so do I need to relinquish some responsibility for me to refill my middle aged dwindling energy too; especially if I am to hold them with any strength (and tolerance 😂) during the splendor of teenage years & escalating depletion of hormones my end 🤪. ☀️So, I am off tomorrow for some sunshine, great company & no doubt knicker wetting laughter. I am attuning to listening to my inner intuition that’s says, “that’s okay to look after Amanda”, rather that the inner critic trying to sabotage my desperate need to put me first.
