“I wish I had your confidence” You know what Sharon, me too. I never realized how much my confidence took a beating last year but after snapping my ankle, getting made redundant 3 times, 2 chemical pregnancies and the loss of my grandad in recent weeks, I’ve found myself flat. Very Very Flat. Day three of the challenge done early as I’m working till 9pm. Most workouts are not pretty. They do not look like Instagram posts. It takes grit & determination to stay consistent. Sometimes getting it done means getting up, chucking on whatever & doing it at home in-between kids & chaos. Finished a 45 min ride with 1 min jump rope, 20 squats, 1min jump rope, 20 situps. My core more than anything is feeling the situps. It is such a privilege to be healthy enough to move. Show up for yourself. Your competition isn’t someone else. Your competition is your attitude, habits, discipline and choices that you make daily. An attitude that says I can and will is powerful. One of my favorite quotes is “whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.” Watch your habits not your weight. Small changes done consistently lead to big results. Add one new habit at a time & do it until it becomes a part of you then add a another. The more habits you add that support your goals the more undesirable habits will seem to disappear. Show up & do the work. Motivation won’t last. The key to success is building the discipline to show up for yourself everyday. You and only you are responsible for your choices, but your not free from the consequences or results of those choices. Don’t like the results, choose something different. ✨NXPT GAMES 2024 ✨ Saturday was the third games competition that my awesome gym put on and we had such an amazing turn out! Also the first comp of the new year! My focus was both on competing and cheering/encouraging my Nxpt family @nxptfit and everyone that came out to compete! 🙌🏼 . The elite course was intense but such a good challenge and I’m always grateful to be put to the test both physically and mentally. 💪🏼 I had a goal in mind to get to that top podium spot around 7 minutes but I ended up finishing in 7:29, about 8 seconds behind one of our strong nxpt ladies, Makayla who took first place with such an impressive, quick run! 🔥 I am so proud of all of our women that took on the elite course, showing such grit and strength and making big strides in their time on the course from just a couple weeks prior to the competition. 👏🏼 . I know exactly where I ate up time and where I could have paced myself a little better but regardless I am proud of myself for putting up a solid time! 🎉 No matter what the results are every time I compete, the biggest win is the opportunity to learn and grow as an athlete and how I can do better for the next one! . That last picture of me captured a moment of disappointment and frustration in myself, knowing I didn’t get the time I wanted but I didn’t allow myself to stay stuck there, that’s what matters. Allow yourself to feel and process those emotions, then rise up, and be ready to tackle what comes next! 🤩 . Back at it this morning. Growing up playing softball I wasn’t the strongest hitter, not even close. Coach would tell me you’re not gonna hit it way in the outfield like the other girls you’re just not a strong enough hitter. So, I just want you to the hit the ball and run like hell because they aren’t gonna beat you to the bag. One of my goals when I started strength training was to build upper body strength and have muscle definition in my arms and shoulders. And so I dug in and slowly graduated from jumping up and hanging on the rope for as long as possible to jumping and wrapping my feet and pulling up once and then twice and eventually to the top. Getting to the top of that rope seemed so far away but, I kept chipping away at it for over a year and here we are. #consistency #noquit #youareyouronlycompetition #dontgiveup #YoureWorthIt
