Finally getting around to this one and man, what an absolute blast it was. Have to admit, I was a little worried they blew their load when I saw the loaded trailer, but luckily, there was still plenty to see come showtime. For starters, Blunt and Goslings chemistry is among the best we have seen since Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell in overboard. They float seemlessly onscreen together and deliver a pair of charismatic and winning performances! While the fall guy has some refurbished storylines, thanks to the crisp cinematography and incredibly well detailed action sequences, this one is a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining blast from beginning to end! Just recently I saw #thenativitystory , one of the most Important Events in Christianity is told. The Birth of Jesus. This Movie while not being massive was great in its simplicity. The Story felt real and the Characters felt real. There was a great spirituality in this Movie. The original story tellers of the Mosley Family. Lucile Florence Mosley passed on February 12, 2024 and was soon followed by the love of her life, Johnny Clarence Mosley Sr. on May 1st, 2024. Although they are no longer here with us physically their story will live on for many years to come. We’re so incredibly grateful and honored to have been able to capture their story on film just last year. We can’t wait to share that story with the public soon so that the world will know what true love looks like. Johnny was a world war 2 veteran who just celebrated his 100th birthday last year and Lucille raised 9 children and was aged 96. Together they celebrated over 77 years of happy marriage. They welcomed everyone into their home with happy hearts and a friendly smile. Many people will always remember them on the front porch with a good cup of coffee while they sit in their rocking chairs and tell anyone who would listen all about their amazing stories. #thestrangerschapter1 The Strangers: Chapter 1 (2024 horror) Director: Renny Harlin Starring: Madelaine Petsch & Froy Gutierrez "The Strangers: Chapter 1" an OK & unmemorable start for the already filmed horror trilogy. It's reasonable to understand the Strangers following familiar characteristics, but the trouble is, the movie itself is all too familiar & often feels lazy to be it's own entity to kick off the trilogy. The horror is uneven as it fails to fully take advantage from a some decent moments of tension that never quite pushes itself & few silent shots of The Strangers watching from the shadows, as it relies a bit too much on the comical attempt to make the local town folk creepy & the over the top dramatic score instead of silence. I'll give "The Strangers: Chapter 1" a bit more credit for being fairly well shot in the way it allows moments to be seen at night & the performance from Madelaine Petsch, who goes through a wide range of emotions wit just facial expressions. STAR WARS THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK This classic sequel to Star Wars was released May 21st 1980. Many people consider this film to be the best installment of the Star Wars franchise, and I'm one of those people. It was the highest grossing film of 1980 and the film has made more than 500 million worldwide over several releases. The film saw George Lucas taking a backseat and having Irvin Kershner direct. We all know the stars of these films Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford. This film introduced us to so many new and iconic characters. Including Jeremy Bulloch as fan favorite bounty hunter Boba Fett, Frank Oz as the Jedi Master Yoda, and Billy Dee Williams as smooth talking Lando Calrissian. The story picks up three years after the events of A New Hope, with the rebels now in hiding on a desolate ice planet Hoth. To me Empire is such a great film from start to finish because of its story and non stop action. From the snow speeder battles to the light saber duel between father and son it never lets up. This is really the film that made me fall in love with the Star Wars franchise. To me none of the other films have come close to matching how good everything in this movie is. I watched this at home on its 25th anniversary. I haven’t done that with all of the great movies released in the year of our lord, 1999, and I can’t guarantee I will do it with any of the other movies from that glorious year (though I might), but my Phantom Menace journey is a complicated one. My anticipation for this film was through the roof. I don’t think there was anything else I looked forward to more nor has there been anything since. I was caught up in the fever. I bought as much merchandise as I possibly could prior to the movie’s release. I ordered tickets for a large group of friends to see an afternoon showing the day it was released. At the last minute, I actually went with one of my best friends to see the midnight screening. I saw it… and I felt this weird tinge of disappointment. But I continued to see the opening day screening and seven more screenings throughout the film’s initial theatrical run. That’s right: I saw The Phantom Menace NINE times. I, ot course, recognized the things that I didn’t like, but I celebrated so much about it that I did like. My favorite memory of the film, though, is that it became something really special between me and my friends that summer. Some of them fell in love with Star Wars because of it. The Strangers: Chapter 1 (2024) After their car breaks down in an eerie small town, a young couple is forced to spend the night in a remote cabin. Panic ensues as they are terrorized by three masked strangers who strike with no mercy and seemingly no motive. MY RATING + REVIEW 8/10 It's not nearly as good as the original or prey at night, but it's simple and effective, and basically a carbon copy of the original too. If your a fan of this franchise, you'll probably like it. Love the setting and atmosphere. The acting and choices made in the film could've been better, but it's a horror movie... People make bad choices! Lol. I can see why people don't like it, but I do. Easily the worst one so far, but I had fun with it! Intruder is a 1989 American slasher film written and directed by Scott Spiegel, and co-written and produced by Lawrence Bender. This claustrophobic thriller is set entirely in a small supermarket, whose owner is preparing to go out of business. This doesn’t sit too well with the film’s resident maniac, who busily butchers the night crew using the tools of the trade (hooks, axes, knives, power tools and so on). Gnarly and bloody hilarious, Scott Spiegel’s low-budget slasher opus Intruder is just what the demented doctor ordered for gore fans and dedicated followers of the Evil Dead troupe of filmmakers. Shot for a measly 100,000 dollars, the film is considered a cult classic in most horror circles due to the infamous uncut print that made its rounds on the bootleg circuits for over a decade. Known mainly for the supporting roles of both Ted and Sam Raimi (along with a tidbit from Bruce Campbell at the end), Intruder explodes with their patented quirky humor but isn’t afraid to get down and dirty with the nasty and inventive kills from future K.N.B. makeup effects head Greg Nicotero. Spiegel’s directorial debut also displays a strong visceral style that’s very much in the same vein as Raimi’s early features and packed with crazy p.o.v. shots that spice up the action throughout the film.
