Tomorrowland, a spectacular science fiction mystery adventure from Director Brad Bird. Review Death Machine 1994 Blu-ray Rating: 4/5 Death Machine is an early 90s cyberpunk horror film that has ambitious designs and creative sequences to compensate for its low budget. Filmmaker Stephen Norrington makes his directorial debut as a writer and director of this stylish horror film. Norrington provides this film with fast edited sequences and the creature design is impressive given the budget restraints. The film was mostly abandoned in the direct to video market but Norrington’s visual eye would elevate it into something worthwhile. The film has similar style and premise to Richard Stanley’s Hardware but this cyberpunk genre was still in its infancy and budgets had been unable to match the ambitions. Brad Dourif is channeling something else here and his villainous performance ranks as one of my favourite. The film belongs to Norrington and he has this oddball character development that pushes this into pulpy fun. It’s impossible to dismiss this film and the remarks about its excessive violence is greatly exaggerated. There’s not a lot of directors that had a lot of success with their debut films and Norrington struggled with the final cut much like David Fincher did with the troubled production of Alien 3. This is an incredible debut by Norrington and he grabbed the opportunity to create a wildly insane cyberpunk film with both hands. Der Film ist nicht sonderlich anspruchsvoll und die Handlung ist vorhersehbar, aber das Gezeigte macht Spaß. Der Humor ist voller Zoten, kein Klischee wird ausgelassen. Es gibt Fäkalhumor, Penis- und Rammelwitze... Wer damit leben kann bekommt einen Film über 4 nicht unsymphatische Hunde auf ihrer großen Reise geboten!
