Game Review Number 10: Assassin’s Creed: Mirage (2023) Where you play it: Xbox, Playstation and PC. • ——————————————————— • Plot: A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers embark on an epic quest to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people. • ——————————————————— • Review: It was so nice to see the franchise go back to their old roots however it’s not without it’s flaws. Basim is an enjoyable character to play and i was throughly intrigued about his back story. The end was very good however it did leave me wanting more. When it ended there was nothing really left more me to do, i’d already got most of the collectibles and since it’s a small map there’s not much exploring left to be done. I did come a cross a few glitches which sucks. I did teleport across the map while in a stealthy mission and had to work my way back, i also got glitched between a wall underwater and had to restart back to my last save (thankfully only a couple mins prior). They’re not game breaking glitches but they’re preventable. Overall it’s a decent Assassins Creed game and it was refreshing to go back to the old AC that heavily relies on stealth rather than a bow and arrow. I think Ubisoft fans will complain regardless but i did enjoy this and would like to see more of it. Looking forward to see what Ubisoft has in store for us for the future. • • Overall Score: 7.5/10 • • Tell me what you thought about this game in the comments👇🏼👇🏼 • • Enjoyment Rating: 3.5/5 • • #films #movie #movies #moviegoers #filmgoers #film #filmreview #filmreviews #filmreviewer #moviereview #moviereviews #moviereviewer #moviereviewers #filmreviewers #assassinscreed #assassinscreedmirage #gaming #gamingreviews #gamer

⭐️The Strangers: Chapter 1 ⭐️ What a waste of my time. The movie was nothing but nonsense. The leads didn’t have any chemistry. There was basically no action, except for the last 15 minutes. The only good thing I guess was that the intruders were creepy. However, they weren’t really scary. Everything just felt pointless. That’s all I have to say. My rating : 7/10 💥 Is it too late to review this films? Kind of. But is it really that urgent to talk about it? Not really. The Fall Guy doesn’t bring anything new to the table and its main actors aren’t delivering their best performances here… but I gotta say this film felt so good to watch! Especially for 2024 which is rather mixed in terms of good cinema. To me, The Fall Guy is the definition of effective entertainment. This action-comedy film relies on hilarious codes that are working today. And the fact that it never takes itself at face value doesn’t make it cringe at all, and will definitely make you forget your problems for 2 hours. The gamble paid off on the comedy level, as well as on the action level. The film’s intense stunt and fight choreographies make it even more credible. And I’m not even talking about Ryan Gosling in this role. Even if I got sad after hearing him say he wouldn’t play dark and sad roles anymore, this type of smart-ass character perfectly fits him. And just by watching him perform, you can definitely tell how much fun he and the rest of the cast must have had. This film’s got a lot of merit. I’m really willing to see more of Leitch directing action films. The energy of his previous films leave no one indifferent, and offer a good deal of surprise where some other directors would just make them « fine but forgettable ». Definitely a great time here! • • • #thefallguy #fallguy #ryangosling #emilyblunt #davidleitch #actionfilm #comedyfilm #filmreview #filmrecommendation #moviereview #movierecommendation #movielover #filmlover #filmstagram #cinemalover #cinematographer #filmreviewer #cinephile #cinephileclub #cinematography #letterboxd

Sting stars Ryan Corr, Alyla Browne, Penelope Mitchel and Noni Hazelhurst. It is written and directed by Kiah Roache-Turner. Charlotte (Browne) finds and keeps a small spider as a pet. This is unnoticed by her mother (Mitchel) and Stepfather Ethan (Corr) who are busy with their new baby and running several jobs. Charlotte realises that the spider is different as it can mimic any sound it ‘hears’ and grows at an alarming rate. The spider, which she calls Sting after Bilbo Baggins’ sword in the Hobbit, uses the ventilation system to move around the apartment block, initially killing people's pets but as it grows in size it needs larger prey. I am scared of Spiders so by default found this ultra creepy but I think it would have worked well regardless. Browne gives a strong performance, Charlotte is a little emotionally disturbed and she plays this well. There is a side story about the Ethan and Charlotte bonding over a comic Ethan is creating based upon Charlotte's ideas. This gives the viewer a good insight into the family dynamic.  The spider is created almost entirely out of practical effects and as a result looks authentic and reasonably scary. What I really liked is the simplicity of the film, you are shown the spider's weakness early on and Charlotte recognises it and uses it. There are several other callbacks like this. Sometimes that can make the film predictable but, in this case it is actually quite satisfying when they happen. This is unashamedly a B movie style creature feature and does not disappoint in meeting that description. An enjoyable film that is well worth watching. I also don’t know how I haven’t watched beau is afraid yet but that’s a different story. The year is 1998, and Guy Ritchie has come out with his writing and directorial debut: Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. The premise of the film is a group of friends trying to recoup £500,000 lost in a card game, which incidentally is close to what the budget for filming this movie was. Because of Guy Ritchie’s strong vision and style, this film has gone on to make $28 million. It’s frankly easy to see why. The characters and script for the film are standouts with several memorable personalities and lines. The dialogue is quick paced and matches the camera work. There are several twists and turns that keep the audience engaged and guessing what will happen to the friend group as they search for resolution. If you’re familiar with Guy Ritchie’s work, I would still recommend seeing his first feature film which feels less refined and full of grift. -CDH Cody - “Winston Churchill never said that.” 7.2 Cindy - “Is The Gentleman on Netflix worth watching?” 8.2 Kasin - “I hope my bachelor party is like this.” Marcus - No comment. 6.0 Matt - “I’m about Guy Ritchied out at this stage in my life.” 6.1 Average: 6.88

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Arriving 9 years after the action masterclass that is Fury Road. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga sees the young Furiosa (Anya Taylor-Joy/Alyla Browne) fall into the hands of a great biker horde led by the warlord Dementus (Chris Hemsworth). Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel, presided over by the Immortan Joe (Lachy Hulme). As the two tyrants fight for dominance, Furiosa soon finds herself in a nonstop battle to make her way home. Firstly, I just want to say it’s a real cinematic gut punch to see how poorly the opening weekend of this has been from a box office perspective and once again will most likely lead to the inevitable swift digital arrival as the studio panic’s and decides to cash in on audiences seemingly growing attachment to watching on their phone or TV *sigh*. Anyway, to move on from that depressing note , I cannot stress enough that you should see Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga on the biggest screen possible.  The Mad Max franchise manages to tread the line of being simultaneously consistent in its weirdness and vehicular action being at the forefront, but also tonally, character-wise and timeline-wise it can be quite jarring for some viewers. Director George Miller could have delivered another Fury Road (which admittedly was probably what most were expecting). Here however we are presented with an epic, multi-year spanning quest for revenge that across five chapters, adds to the mythology of the Wasteland and further bolsters Furiosa’s character in Fury Road. The slower pacing allows for a truly immersive experience. For the first 45 minutes or so the film is somewhat ‘action-lite’ with the establishment of Dementus, the geography of the Wasteland and Furiosa’s introduction to Immortan Joe being the priority instead of relentless action. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Continued in comments

I thought this was gonna be good. It starts out slow but builds at decent pace, and there were some solid twists, and then there were like 5 other twists and the story go convoluted and boring. The acting was surprisingly alright and ended up being one of the better aspects of ABIGAIL. The cast played their roles well and kept you engaged. At the end of the day, ABIGAIL ended up being a another PG-13 horror movie with enough language and blood to get the R rating 🤷🏻‍♂️

The Garfield Movie (2024) After Garfield's unexpected reunion with his long-lost father, ragged alley cat Vic, he and his canine friend Odie are forced from their perfectly pampered lives to join Vic on a risky heist. MY RATING + REVIEW 8/10 I gave my little brother the choice to go see The Garfield Movie or IF in the theatre and he chose this, and I'm glad he picked this because this was way funnier than I expected and I laughed a ton. Every character is funny in their own way but I thought Jinx (voiced by Hannah Waddingham) and Otto (voiced by Ving Rhames) we're the funniest, to me at least. And for Chris Pratt he did fine voicing Garfield, not sure why people didn't like the choice. Movie has great animation too. Overall The Garfield Movie is adorable and heartfelt, I had a great time seeing this in 3D. #TheGarfieldMovie #Garfield #Comedy #ChrosPratt #SamuelLJackson #VingRhames #MovieReview #MovieReviews #MovieReviewer #FilmReview #FilmReviews #FilmReviewer #Review #Reviews #Reviewer #Movie #Movies #MovieBuff #MovieLover #Film #Films #FilmBuff #FilmLover #Cinema #CinemaReview #CinemaReviews #CinemaReviewer #Movie #Movies #MovieBuff #MovieLover #Film #Films #FilmBuff #FilmLover

Moviegeek’s Thoughts on Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024) . . Hell hath no fury like a woman out for vengeance!
.
A bleak odyssey packed with complexity and gut-wrenching drama, “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” directed by George Miller, revs up a brutal and sprawling tale steeped in tragedy and mayhem. Bringing forth dazzling set pieces and well-developed, wholly engaging character arcs, this visceral voyage is one hell of an engrossing and breathtaking experience that will undoubtedly blow you away.
.
Emotionally driven and highly focused on character storytelling, the film is essentially an revenge plot with coming-of-age aspects mixed in as we follow someone whose life has been corrupted and is trying to adapt in the midst of chaos. Deliberately paced, Miller takes his time to explore all the cruelty and pure nihilism found within this apocalyptic wasteland, all the while developing a compelling lead in “Furiosa.” Taken at a young age and having her innocence stripped away, we come to understand her motivations and why she’s absolutely hellbent on dishing out punishment on the ones who made her suffer. It’s a thematically rich and cohesively structured film that, while could have benefited from a little bit of trimming in the first hour, still holds one’s attention and successfully builds to some satisfying moments of pure savagery, exciting thrills, and cathartic payoffs. * Review continues in Part 2 in the comments down below! *

A sequel and spin-off to Mad Max: Fury Road, Furiosa (2024) follows the life and journey of Furiosa after she is kidnapped from her home. ✨ Positives ✅ The performances of Chris Hemsworth as Dementus, Lachy Hulme as Immortan Joe, and Charlee Fraser as Furiosa’s mother/Mary. Dementus, in particular, was everything I wanted. Hemsworth did a great job in portraying a terrifying and crazy villain. ✅ Opening act: Right off the bat, the movie hooks you in with the kidnapping of Furiosa and a very intense chase scene as Furiosa’s kidnappers are pursued by her mother. As this happens we see a bit of the violence that has engulfed the Australian wasteland—a preview in what’s to come. ✅ Action sequences ✅ Cinematography and set design ✨ Negatives ❌ Anya shows up pretty late and does not have many lines. Her lack of dialogue was a bit annoying for me. Also, unfortunately, her performance was too stoic and stiff for me. ❌ Runtime—I’m sorry, but the film could have been an hour shorter. The script felt bloated and a bit boring in the middle. ❌ The romance subplot: It felt like it jumped out of nowhere. I didnt care for it nor did i think the film did a great job in illustrating it. Overall, this character driven movie was a bit underwhelming. It didn’t ‘wow’ me, blow me away. In certain parts, it just fell flat and boring. There could have been both more action, as well as dialogue to help me connect with Furiosa. And tbh, I felt like the movie wasn’t really about Furiosa. However, the performances of supporting characters specifically Hemsworth, Hulme, and Fraser were awesome. The Mad Max Franchise Ranked (Mad Max - Furiosa) So… my ranking is probably a controversial one. Most will prefer Fury Road, and even the Road Warrior, to Furiosa. Jennifer Lopez is back on the small screen with a new #netflix movie and... it's not that different from her previous Netflix movie. To be fair, Atlas is a slight improvement over The Mother. Emphasis on "slight". It's a Netflix movie after all, which means that it had its moments, but it's overall bland and unremarkable. The story is basically a copy of a lot of other sci-fi movies. It doesn't offer anything new or sophisticated on the topic of AI. The visuals are good and the action scenes are very enjoyable to watch. #jenniferlopez does the best that she can do in what's a pretty basic role. I always enjoy watching her and I think she was really good here. The same can't be said about the rest of the characters. #simuliu , #sterlingkbrown and #markstrong all do a nice job, but in addition to having extremely little to do, their roles have little to no depth. Ultimately, unless you are bored and have time to kill, I wouldn't recommend Atlas. Here’s a short and brief review, before the full review is released next week… Epic and intense action sequences, especially from the challenging practical and stunt work. Beautiful cinematography, from the insane world building that has so much personality. Anya Taylor-Joy was marvellous as always and Chris Hemsworth delivers a career best performance. One of the better prequels that provides more depth about the character Furiosa. Another great example from the storytelling, about more on visuals and less on dialogue. Number one lesson from film school, show don’t tell. Once again, huge respect and praise to George Miller as a filmmaker. Who has now made five Mad Max films and is still crushing it at the age of 79. Love this chaotic franchise. Highly recommend this on the biggest screen and with loudest sound. . . . . #furiosa #madmax #imax #bfi #bfiimax #prequel #franchise #georgemiller #anataylorjoy #chrishemsworth #cinema #thebigscreen #film #movie #action #postapocalyptic #london #filmcritic #filmcriticism #filmcritique #filmreview #filmreviewer #shortreview #moviereview #moviecritic #moviecriticism #moviereviewer #reviewer #critic

“A story you have to believe to see” Let’s talk imaginary friends! Mine was more an imaginary pet, he was a German Shepherd dog called “Wallaby” (he would bounce around on his hind legs just like, well a Wallaby 🥹) I recall one particular day where we had walked to our local CO-OP (although I use the term “local” very loosely as it was not a short walk), I tied Wallaby to a lamp post outside (as any good citizen would), we did some shopping and went home….only to find to my horror we had left Wallaby behind 😭 I then made my mum walk ALL the way back so we could go get him 🥺 thankfully he was still there but more importantly he forgave me. My mum reminds me of this incident pretty much on a daily basis 😩 I do think of Wallaby from time to time 🥰 he was such a good boy! ❤️ Anyway on to the film. I really loved this, it was so relatable and I 100% want a career in helping IFs find their people 🥹. Also Ryan Reynolds with a beard just destroys me! Did/do you have an imaginary friend? Snow White - Walt Disney’s first ever animated film I want to start this review by saying I have given this film 4 stars because although I love the story ! find the voice of snow White annoying. The story of snow White and it's animation is beautiful and the characters are some of Disney's most memorable. I love the seven dwarfs for me they make this movie, along with the songs. untortunately it is just show Whites voice that ruins this classic for me. However! am looking forward to the live action remake Snow White is the first Disney Princess making her debut in 1937 #waltdisney #classic #snowwhite #film #filmreview #disney #filmreviewer #filmblog #disneyclassic

Moviegeek’s Thoughts on Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) . . . A high-octane thrill ride with a heaping dose of action and rage, “Mad Max: Fury Road,” directed by George Miller, is a mesmerizing and relentless display of chaotic filmmaking and stunt work. A kinetic force of nature, Miller marvelously crafts an outstanding blockbuster loaded with breathtaking visuals and thrilling spectacle that never once loses steam amidst all the madness.
.
Constantly in motion and with a palpable sense of danger looming, the film explodes on the screen with such intensity and delirious pacing as Miller masterfully directs a vivid and captivating story of nonstop fury and destruction. Built like a road trip film, each aspect of the story continually evolves, with action sequences becoming increasingly bombastic and larger in scale the more our characters travel through the desolate wastelands, culminating in a final act that features staggering displays of practical effects, car crashes, and stunt work. There’s absolutely no denying that this is a remarkable action blockbuster with a burning heart and tremendous care put into it. Furthermore, underneath the wildly energetic action is a competent and focused story about standing against those who exploit others. There is no lack of lore and narrative, with Miller balancing out all these different elements with clarity, depth, and interesting religious undertones, giving the viewers an exciting and immediately empathetic plot with compelling leads to follow. * Review continues in Part 2 in the comments down below! *

This is one I covered for St. Patrick Day’s this year. I’ll be honest, this was a pleasant surprise for a sixth installment. What they did with bringing back the Leprechaun and having a solid balance of comedy with the horror. Not great, but for this franchise it is solid enough. What do you think of this one? Eight Legged Freaks (2002) (Rewatch) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - A gloriously goofy early-00’s horror comedy. Eight Legged Freaks sees the people of Prosperity, a mining town in Arizona, find themselves battling gigantic spiders after a barrel containing toxic waste is accidentally released into a reservoir. Hadn’t seen this since I was probably around 12 or 13 and I remember thinking it was fine, but knowing my pre-teen self, all I was after was the gorier and more brutal of the creature features and slasher flicks. Honestly, on this rewatch I definitely had more fun with Eight Legged Freaks and whilst it is far, far from perfect, it is a host of skin crawling, splattery, slapstick fun. The film does take a little while to find its footing, but once the spiders begin their antics we’re off to the races. The small town setting and very community focused emphasis on the characters that welcomes you into their world helps boost the admittedly dopey screenplay that is packed to the gills with familiar traits and tropes. The second half of the flick frequently had me chuckling as it goes all out with spider-silliness and throws the town’s inhabitants against the arachnids with everything from perfume, shotguns and rakes. The film is a tad hindered by its 12/PG-13 age rating, however it still manages to push the envelope with some genuinely squirm inducing imagery. The practical effect work is genuinely great still (with the multitude of webbed up corpses and puppet spiders scurrying around the place) and whilst a lot of the CGI looks like a PS2 game, there are some standout highlights (most notably the giant tarantula and the elderly barbershop customer’s demise) and the dirtbike chase sequence is an absolute riot.  - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Continued in comments

Moviegeek’s Quick Thoughts on Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome (1985) . . . A bizarre and incredibly exposition-heavy flick devoid of excitement and any sort of compelling element, “Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome,” directed by George Miller & George Ogilvie, strips away the aspects that made the previous films work in favor of strange narrative choices and a much more broader tone to attract younger audiences. While its world-building and overall production design are worthy of praise, this is a messy and sometimes sluggish film that lacks the needed thrills to make it a worthwhile experience.
.
Although it kicks off with a promising start featuring interesting settings and various creative ideas, the film radically shifts into a cartoonishly painful and whimsically plodding adventure that feels like a completely separate story that’s been haphazardly stitched onto the previously established plot. There’s not a whole lot to really care about, as most of the characters are paper-thin, the dialogue is muddled with exposition, and the action is missing that sort of visceral edge that makes a “Mad Max” film so thrilling. To best summarize, it’s obvious that this was done with two directors with completely different mindsets! Furthermore, the film attempts to create a more lighthearted tone that just doesn’t work with its eye-rolling slapstick comedy and unapologetically goofy story beats. At least singer Tina Turner makes the most of her villainous performance and rocks some impressive costumes throughout. But other than that, “Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome” is pig slop! . . . Final verdict: 🍿🍿 Meh #moviegeekreviews

▶️FOLLOW @Els_Reviews for more news & reviews REVIEW🍿What a wonderful day! Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is another triumph for the apes franchise, giving a slow burn this time around that stand alongside the Caesar trilogy. The CGI is next level good, it’s frightening how much these effects are photo realistic now, it really immerses you in this world, along with the fantastic world building and character development. I wasn’t impressed with the 3rd act, especially the flood scene, it wasn’t particularly shot very well and I couldn’t tell what was going on. But that’s my only major criticism, given the first 2 acts are immaculate. The performances too are excellent, in particular Kevin Durand, Peter Macon and Owen Teague. Durand is a scene stealer as Proximus, could have done with more of him spread throughout the film. Overall, it’s a highly enjoyable film, and deeply thought provoking. This franchise continues to go from strength to strength, it’ll be fascinating to see where we go from here. It is dominating the box office at present, make sure you see it on the big screen 🍿 #kingdomoftheplanetoftheapes #planetoftheapes #caesar #riseoftheplanetoftheapes #dawnoftheplanetoftheapes #warfortheplanetoftheapes #freyaallan #kevindurand #owenteague #dichenlachman #ekadarville #petermacon #williamhmacy #cineworld #cineworldunlimited #cineworldunlimitedcard #cinephile #cinephilecommunity #apes #filmreview #filmreviews #filmreviewer #moviereview #moviereviews #moviereviewer

THE FALL GUY is definitely fun, for about half of the movie. I felt like this movie could’ve ended 4 or 5 times and still have a solid conclusion, but it just kept going. The length it feels is only hindered by the inconsistencies in the quality of the script. Don’t get me wrong, there were plenty of funny moments, but also some cringe and boredom. Once again, however, Ryan Gosling was great. I think he could be the next real Rom-Com star, as long as they use him correctly. Emily Blunt was solid, but not really perfect for her role. THE FALL GUY was fun and all, but you can honestly wait til streaming to spend 2 hours of your time (that feels like 3).

Only the Lonely A Chicago cop must balance loyalty to his controlling mother and a relationship with a shy funeral home worker. Starring - John Candy, Jim Belushi, Maureen O'Hara, Ally Sheedy, Kevin Dunn, Milo O'Shea, Macaulay Culkin. This was a recommendation from @randigoldberg2 I had never seen this movie before but i am a big fan of John Candy and have seen him in a few other films. So i was excited going into this one. Honestly i really enjoyed it. It was such a heartwarming story, and as the title suggests, is about two lonely people who discover each other and the fact that they need not be lonely anymore. It was honestly so sweet to see the romance unfurl, just because both characters were unexperienced in dating and for the fact that you had the very extroverted Danny (Candy) and the very introverted Theresa (Sheedy). But what gives this movie it's edge and what will definitely make you feel the frustration is Danny's overbearing mother. She always has an opinion and is very forthright, even to the point it's hurtful. But i just loved watching these two lonely souls connect and as you watch you'll feel the same way i did in hoping the two of them make it as it is so clear they are meant for each other!. You don't often see the Extrovert vs Introvert personalities as well portrayed as they were here. It was adorable seeing the introverted Theresa slowly come out of her shell because of the easygoing nature of Danny and his larger than life persona. Standouts - John Candy was so good as Danny. His natural charm came across well in the role and it was such fun seeing Danny and Theresa's romance blossom. Bottom line, a film i really enjoyed, i always think with John Candy he was such a charming and genuine guy and you could feel that in his performance here and really any of his movie performances. He is sorely missed!. Available to Buy/Rent. What did you think of the Movie?

This is an early anthology film from Germany. It is silent so I know that will turn people off. This falls into German Expressionism and I love the framing story. We have a writer who is tasked with giving a story about three historical figures with Harun al Raschid, Ivan the Terrible and Jack the Ripper. We also have strong actors of the era in Emil Jannings, Conrad Veidt and Werner Krauss. Have you heard of this one? The Fall Guy is without a doubt a very entertaining movie. I had a really good time watching it. However, I was surprised that it wasn't as strong as it could've been. The movie is for the most part a delight. It's well-directed, well-shot and it has a good soundtrack. It also features great action scenes, fun twists and lots of humorous moments. I liked the nods and jokes about the film industry in particular. The cast is excellent. #emilyblunt and #ryangosling deliver stellar performances. They're both incredibly likable and work great together on screen. #hannahwaddingham and #aarontaylorjohnson also do a really good job. Unfortunately, The Fall Guy never reaches its full potential. Not only does the movie need a while to truly get going, but it's unevenly paced. A lot of sections, particularly the third act feel convoluted and drawn out. The movie could've definitely benefited from a shorter runtime and a script that didn't have as many things going on at the same time. Ultimately, The Fall Guy isn't as great as could've been, but a strong cast, good action and a fun story make it an enjoyable experience. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #reviews #review #moviereview #moviereviews #moviereviewer #filmreviews #filmreviewer #filmreview #cinephile #reaction #streaming #cinema #davidleitch #thefallguy #stephaniehsu #winstonduke #teresapalmer #stunts #stuntguy #stuntman #movies #films #actionmovies #action #entertainment #jasonmomoa
