Al Capone Al Capone, often referred to as “Scarface,” was the epitome of the American gangster during the Prohibition era. Capone’s reign was marked by extravagant displays of wealth and power. Lavish parties, expensive suits, and a fleet of luxurious cars were the norm for the self-styled “King of the Underworld.” He wielded influence over politicians, law enforcement, and even the judicial system, earning him the title of “Public Enemy Number One.” Yet, amidst the glitz and glamor, Capone’s brutality was legendary. He wasn’t afraid to resort to violence to eliminate rivals or maintain control over his empire. Tales of his ruthless enforcement tactics and the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre, where seven members of a rival gang were brutally gunned down, solidified his reputation as a fearsome figure. However, Capone’s downfall came not from his criminal activities, but from a seemingly mundane crime: tax evasion. In 1931, he was convicted on federal charges of tax fraud and sentenced to 11 years in prison. Despite attempts to maintain control of his empire from behind bars, Capone’s health deteriorated rapidly due to syphilis, a disease he contracted in his youth. He was released from prison in 1939 but spent his remaining years suffering from mental and physical decline. He died of a stroke in 1947, a shadow of the once all-powerful crime boss he had been

Having been driven to the edge by the loneliness and the need for connection, he tries to take it upon himself to kill a politician and a pimp abusing a little girl. He sees this as him taking a stand against all that is wrong in the city. He is driving around all night carrying all sorts of people but still he is lonely. Therein lies the allegory of the movie. Although he is around people he can't seem to get along. The girl he finally has the courage to ask out is freaked out by his lack of social skills. The sleeplessness and the inevitable loneliness takes a toll on his psyche. He is driven to such insanity that he resorts to talking to himself in the mirror. This movie has many themes and interpretation but for me the main point that stands out is loneliness. Protagonizada por #jodiefoster y @kali_ko_reis Empezó lenta, tuvo una parte media muy interesante que concluyó con un final que me ha decepcionado un poco. Las 2 actrices principales para mí son de lo mejor de la serie. El resto del elenco es muy muy malo, igual salvo a @fiona_shaw La localización y la ambientación de la serie me encanta, como las condiciones climatológicas de #alaska empeoran y complican todo. Sin embargo una historia de crímenes con tintes sobrenaturales que es interesante, se convierte en un #deusesmachina antológico. Pensaba que las apariciones y llamadas que recibían del más allá #evangelinenavarro servían para algo pero no. Luego todo acaba porque en las cuevas se caen por un agujero, sino, no hubieran descubierto nada. Luego consiguen encontrar a las asesinas de 6 personas, pero no las detienen ni denuncian… perdona??? Buscas al asesino de una chica pero al de 6 no? Claro, es que son señoras… y sería feo. ｜Wag the Dog 事實不會消失，只會被掩蓋。 因為我們總是太忙碌，太忙碌而認為新聞像是新知，每天看點新聞多吸收些知識，然後一層一層包裹住舊的知識。但新聞不是知識，更不可能近乎客觀，因為絕對客觀是太過於理想化的說法，只要是人所創作、製作出來的東西，肯定就是摻雜著主觀的，而不論夾雜多少的主客觀，我們都是該抱著懷疑的態度，睜大雙眼看著的。 說起來很容易，但做起來我想應該就不是那麼簡單。當一個看似絕對正確的觀念病毒似的在你整個周遭蔓延，像是愛國主義，那你理所當然，或者說不得不的會被感染，因使我們會沒有意識的變得盲目，變成風向儀。 為甚麼是風向儀呢？ 我想，風向儀的存在是為了要測量風向，但其實風向儀轉向哪邊完全就是被風的走向所直接的影響、改變著。當我們完全仰賴著媒體替我們監督著政府、社會，但媒體正是被這些所操弄著，我們只能看到風向儀呈現出來的結果，那就是所謂媒體報導的「真相」了，那難道我們真的那麼無能為力，我想是否定的。 這部片用近乎詼諧、諷刺的手法敘述了整個桃色風雲的起落，整個媒體操弄的手法及荒謬，科技使畫面真實，任何煽情的元素動幾根手指頭就加進了畫面，幾個小時就可以燃起好幾百萬人的情感，周邊商品的熱銷看似充滿熱血卻流進了圖利的口袋，媒體的真實，所謂的第四權在這裡被諷刺的體無完膚。電影製片的角色更是畫龍點睛，媒體及電影，一個本是客觀的觀察紀錄者，一個本是藝術創作及娛樂，但現今卻模糊了界線，有做出來的假新聞，有紀錄真實的電影。但我想我們還會稱之為「假」新聞，代表我們對新聞的看法及期待是帶有真實性的。 最諷刺的我想莫過是對手結束了戰爭的那則新聞，戰爭被憑空製造出來，就像故事接龍般，將故事頭丟給了觀眾，不過媒體是公用的，誰也可以當下一個接棒者，將故事繼續接龍下去，誰也可以為故事下個註解或結局，畢竟，誰都可以是說書人。大眾主流媒體的荒謬，在這部電影裡面確實地被放大並讓人深刻的省思著。尤其當故事遇到難題卡關了，編導故事的人總是可以想到另一個反轉，讓故事可以不至於結束，像是八點檔那樣，劇集還沒結束，壞人總是可以一再的復活，好人也總是可以一再的報仇的，多麼諷刺。 另外我比較注意到的是製片這個問題，在這部片當中也許不是主要的理念或有意的傳達，但我對製片的定義及工作一直是模糊的，究竟一部電影的產出，製片負責了那些，是負責了全部大大小小的事的，但為何製片在電影圈裡卻不被藝術肯定呢？奧斯卡獎獨缺最佳製片，難道是將製片摒除在藝術之外而是將其視作行政了嗎？可能是的，但我又為製片的定義感到暈頭轉向，到底所謂好萊塢的大製片，擁有的對劇本的敏銳度及感官，豈不是藝術的鼻子嗎。說來說去我自己又模糊了。 回到這部片很有意思的比喻。狗搖尾巴，是因為狗比尾巴聰明，但要是尾巴比狗聰明了，那尾巴就可以搖擺狗了。 願我們都能成為聰明的狗，即使尾巴再怎麼聰明，終究是要跟著狗向前走的。 #WagtheDog #桃色風雲搖擺狗 #1997 #BarryLevinson #巴瑞李文森 #DustinHoffman #達斯汀霍夫曼 #RobertDeNiro #勞勃狄尼洛 心得於2015年看完時寫下，雖然有些地方我想重寫，但猶豫過後還是不修改了，就保留當下的感觸吧。
