🎬 DUNE: PART 2 (2024) 🎬 Review (spoiler-free!): Ok so this is a tough one. I liked the movie - especially the ending but it’s very complicated and long (which is not necessarily a con). You have to really pay attention, so this is not a movie for everyone. That said, it’s beautifully shot and I can see how this is a book adaptation - the symbolism, the character arcs. I really like the idea of the One and the whole negative side of prophesy. Austin was amazing and that last fight scene!! Looking forward to the last movie! Dune Part Two - 4K Steelbook What can I say about this movie which I already haven’t said in previous posts? You know my thoughts about it. Simply put this movie IS perfection! Now, the disc is a different matter. Besides the image and sound quality, both which amazingly are pure reference material and will literally blow you away, I have two complaints for @warnerbrosentertainment: - My first critique also blends over to Dune Part 1 - Warner, you know what us physical media collectors want: IMAX aspect ratio in full frame. Dennis Villeneuve has even hinted on it! It exists in your vaults! Release it! - Those Digital Exclusive bonus features? Warner? Really? Just spent those extra couple of Dollar Cents on an extra Blu Ray disc with ALL extra’s so we don’t have to download them (which, if you think of it, is the point of buying physical media) and what you DO deliver doesn’t take up any precious space on the 4K disc, which will be an additional win for the image and sound quality. I love the packaging. This is a gorgeous steelbook that fits great next to the steelbook from the first movie. Totally recommended for fans to buy immediately. . Dune: Deuxième Partie - Réalisé par Denis Villeneuve (2024) . Synopsis: Paul Atreides s’unit à Chani et aux Fremen pour mener la révolte contre ceux qui ont anéanti sa famille. Hanté par de sombres prémonitions, il se trouve confronté au plus grand des dilemmes : choisir entre l’amour de sa vie et le destin de l’univers. . Mon avis: Après la première partie sortie en 2021 qui fut ma plus grande claque et mon film préférée de cette année la, Denis Villeneuve nous revient avec la deuxième partie de cette épopée ensablée. Et que dire… c’est d’ores et déjà mon film préféré de l’année et de loin, et sans aucun doute l’un des films les plus époustouflants que j’ai vu de ma vie. Je pense sincèrement que l’histoire du cinéma a été marquée à jamais avec la sortie de ce film, et qu’il sera référencé pendant des décennies à venir comme un certain Empire Contre Attaque des années 80. Rares sont les films qui marquent à tel point le cinéma que leur impact changera littéralement la façon de concevoir des films, et je pense que la saga de Villeneuve rentrera clairement dans cette catégorie. Car, là où depuis plusieurs années les blockbusters ont tendance à s’uniformiser en proposant toujours le même concept sans âme servie avec une bouillie numérique, la saga Dune sort clairement du lot. Ne serait-ce pour ce qui mettra tout le monde d’accord: le côté esthétique du film. C’est tout simplement éblouissant et le film enchainent les plans iconiques comme par magie, c’est une pure jouissance visuelle tant ces plans relèvent de la perfection, et j’appuie mes mots. La photographie, maîtrisée par Greig Fraser, atteint de nouveaux sommets. D’autant plus que Villeneuve a un sens du rapport d’échelle hallucinant. Que ce soient les vaisseaux, les vers géants, ou tout simplement le désert, le film ne cesse de nous rappeler à quel point ses protagonistes ne sont que de simples grains de sable et il propose des plans ahurissants... Tout d’abord, ceci grâce à une utilisation des effets spéciaux parfaitement intégrée à l’image. Même si c’est une œuvre de SF, tout semble palpable, crédible... C’est d’un réalisme bluffant et l’on croit à tout ce qui se passe sous nos yeux. (…)

Natalie Wood and Robert Wagner were the Brangelina of their day. Wood, a child actress ("Miracle on 34th Street") who successfully transitioned to go on to have a storied career as an adult ("West Side Story," "Gypsy," "Splendor in the Grass") fell in love with Wagner ("Hart to Hart", "Austin Powers") at a very young age and they existed in the public eye as the world's beautiful, perfect and sparkly couple. So, Wood's sudden and tragic death at 43 sent shockwaves around the world. To celebrate the Thanksgiving in 1981, Natalie and "RJ", as Robert was called, invited Natalie's "Brainstorm" co-star Christopher Walken to accompany them on their yacht, the Splendour. Also present was skipper Dennis Davern. The only facts that are agreed upon about what happened are that sometime after dinner on the harbor on Saturday evening, when the trio returned to the yacht, a fight broke out between RJ and Walken. Natalie disappeared at some point, and her lifeless body was recovered the following day floating in her flannel nightgown, socks and overcoat near Blue Lantern Cove. Nearly 45 years on, there is no official consensus about Natalie's cause of death. Originally ruled an accidental drowning, the case was reopened in 2018 and Robert Wagner was named a Person of Interest. Wood's death certificate was amended to "drowning and other unknown circumstances." This was partially a result of Captain Davern coming out to accuse Wagner of being responsible for Wood's death and then demanding that Davern and Walken cover it up for him. Wagner and Walken have been conspicuously silent since Davern's accusations, and Wagner, who has been asked multiple times by the LASD to come in for questioning, has declined. Being that he is "just" a Person of Interest and not a suspect, he is under no obligation to do so. Ya hya chouhada! Long live the fighters! Movie #13 of the year is Dune Part Two! This is the perfect payoff to the beautiful but ponderous and exposition drenched Part 1. It’s a classic Hollywood epic filmed through the lens of bizarro sci-fi and theology. There are some truly remarkable set pieces spread throughout the film’s nearly three hour runtime (which truly flies by.) Chalamet cements himself as a great and dynamic leading man, and the film surrounds him with a next level supporting cast. Javier Bardem brings a fierce but charming Anthony Quinn vibe to every scene, while an almost unrecognizable Austin Butler is captivating as the freakish arch villain. Zendaya feels a little adrift in the film, not because she’s bad per se, but her more subtle work is frequently outshined by her charismatic co-stars. Director Villeneuve and his production designers have constructed a unique and captivating world that builds on writer Frank Herbert’s writing and takes it even farther and more expansive than imagined. The final scenes are bold and surprising in a way we rarely see in most movie, blockbusters and smaller budget films alike. If Villeneuve decides to continue on with this franchise, we’re in for one of the more unique cinematic epics we’ve seen in years. Dune Part Two is in theaters now!
