Abandoned by his parents as a young age, Red is known to have some pretty severe anger issues and a deep seated hatred for pigs (we don’t know where exactly that came from, though he keeps mumbling something about green ham and eggs). Thankfully he has discovered a rather unconventional anger management technique that involves hurling himself at nearby buildings and…well…that’s kind of it. Unfortunately for him, human structures are much stronger than the ones he’s used to in the frog realm, so someone please stop him before he finds that out the hard way! I miss my Jesus, Mommy! My daughter pulled out a book from our church bag on Sunday and asked me to read it to her. It was a children’s bible stories book. A lot of the stories near the end are about Jesus. In the middle of one story my daughter told me “I miss my Jesus, Mommy!” Little kids are so close to the veil and I think sometimes they remember more of the pre-earth life than we realize. Some of the comments my toddler has made, and the way my babies have stared at a picture of Jesus, makes me so curious what they really know. I’ve heard a few times the comment that babies can’t speak when they’re born because they know to much about heaven that we’re not supposed to know yet. So I’ll hold my girls close and cherish special moments like these. Your Blood, My Bones by Kelly Andrew . I thoroughly enjoyed every part of this book! From beginning to end, this book kept me enthralled. I love learning about Wyatt and Peters's past and the magic that her blood holds. The entire book I was rooting for Peter and Wyatt to survive the horror that is making its way through to the farm from the other side. Also, I'm sure it said it somewhere, but I didn't realize this was a young adult novel until it revealed that Wyatt, our main character, is 18 almost halfway or a bit further into the book. It was dark and twisty and filled with so much hope and desolation simultaneously and couldn't put it down. Wyatt's journey to accepting who she is and the power she holds was amazing, and I loved learning all about her and Peters's past together. While it didn't give me the ending I wanted or hoped for, it gave me the ending the story called for. And I would absolutely love more from this world, maybe following Wyatt's cousin. Recently, I was brought through the veil between the worlds, which was translucent and threadbare. The potential for the veil to tatter soon is eminently possible. The energies of the Spirit World and this world have never been so interchangeable. This is the Butterfly Effect in full force. Under this, there was a flurry of activity. The Grandmothers gathered in large numbers beneath the veil, like numerous koi beneath the surface of a pond. Grandmothers from all cultures joined hands in the Spirit World, working to shift the matriarchal energies, banding together for one united purpose. Many of us are being called to navigate through uncharted territory to fully embody ourselves in new ways. Patriarchal patterning that has been hardwired, and we have been steeped in a patriarchal tea for millennia.
