Avere vicine persone che hanno fatto tutto quello che potevano per rendere il mio giorno speciale. Persone che hanno preso per mano le mie paure, delusioni e insicurezze e le hanno messe in secondo piano, ricordandomi che festeggiare è importante, che se sono arrivata fin qui sono stata brava. I love the interactions, pining, and tension in Enemies to Lovers, but I also find it so sweet to fall in love with your best friend and already knowing them for who they are because you’ve been friends prior to dating. 💙Fake Dating or Age Gap? Personally, I do like an age gap but the max, and I mean MAXIMUM AGE GAP is ten years (books only lmao not real life😅). Also both MCs have to be 18+. I also really like when this trope goes hand in hand with the inexperienced/experienced trope. It’s just *chef’s kiss* 💛Grumpy x Sunshine or Who Did This To You? Ooo this one is also a tie for me because it could easily pair really well with a good Enemies to Lovers story! 💚Second Chance or Brother’s Best Friend? Brother’s Best Friend ALL THE WAY! There’s just some added drama there that is just UGH SO GOOD! 🧡Emotional Past or Rom-Com? There definitely needs to be a balance, but I also think it just depends on what mood I’m in. Sometimes you want a book that’s just strictly a cheesy romance, but then other times you want to ball your eyes out the entire time😂 🩷Spice Before or After They Fall In Love? This one kinda just depends on the characters and their storylines. I also like when there’s a GOOD AMOUNT of buildup in the stories before the characters even do anything remotely intimate. 𝒫𝑜𝓌𝑒𝓇𝓁𝑒𝓈𝓈 𝓇𝑒𝓋𝒾𝑒𝓌 Alright, controversial opinion time. I did not love this book. Honestly, I didn’t even like it. Conceptually, it was two of my favorite YA series smashed together (Red Queen meets Hunger Games), but it didn’t feel particularly well executed and the writing was simply not great. It felt very unoriginal. The characters’ inner monologues were incredibly redundant. It was kind of boring to read as it was very predictable. One of my pettier criticisms is that every single character’s name was a tragadeigh. It was an immediate ick for me that I couldn’t get past. I don’t think I will continue the series. If you haven’t read it yet, I don’t recommend it.

This was a fast paced, exciting and completely gripping thriller that had me on the edge of my seat from the first page to the last page! AJ Campbell is a master of mystery and suspense. The suspense built up until we got to the mind blowing ending! I neglected everything until I finished this one. This book had everything I loved - short chapters, lots of twists and turns, well developed characters, and a plot that was delivered beautifully! There were multiple times that I thought I had it solved. There were multiple times that I thought the story was wrapped up. I was wrong on every occasion! Campbell does a clever job pulling us in at the very beginning and keeping up captivated right up until the end. She masterfully weaves in relevant twists and jaw dropping turns that kept me furiously turning the pages. I highly recommend this one! I have never had a book make me so angry, so happy, cry is sorrow and steam in frustration and laugh (actually) out loud as much as this book. The visceral raw emotion this book created within me means it can only be a five star. I cannot stop thinking about it. 🤍BJ & Parks 🤍 they are the worst and I love them. 🤍Julian Haites 🥲 baby boy needs his own happy ending because damn, what a thing he did for no other reason than her happiness. 🤍Bridgets one of my fav characters in book 1 and I truly think no one would have survived without her. But what the hell was that ending?! Because the next book is a parallel timeline to this book just in different POVs does that mean I won’t know what happens to her until the book after?! I’m so close to googling it because I can’t stand the unknown! 🤍There were some repeated issues and arguments as book one but this time we have so much context and damn didn’t it make a difference - not that it excuses any red flag behavior but also, you can see why they are the way they are. 🤍 I really want Magnolia and Daisy to become good friends and I don’t really know why. Just feels right and maybe like they will even each other out a bit. 🤍 Taura becoming Magnolias bestfriend feels like such a win for feminism. Title: Blindspot by @maggiesmithwrites Rating; ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ OMGGGG! This book was such a gripping and intense, edge-of-you-seat thriller! I was excited by the blurb, but I had no idea what kind of roller coaster ride I would be in for. Rachel is a district attorney and a single mother to a teenage girl. Rachel is very focused and dedicated to her job. She is a very busy woman that is accomplished and is in the running for a promotion. As if she needs something else to deal with, she finds out that she has a stalker. The police aren’t moving as fast and efficiently as she would like them to, so she hires a private investigator, and launches her own investigation. Rachel refuses to let her stalker get the best of her. From the beginning, the pace of this book is a speeding car. It starts off with an clever prologue, and I was presented with clever writing until the end of the book. On top of brilliant writing, the twists and turns were jaw dropping. Just when I thought I had it figured out, a twist would happen that made me gasp. The characters were well developed, especially Rachel. It was great getting to know her. I was rooting for her the whole way through the book. A brilliant, fast paced and gripping thriller that I definitely recommend. Betty by Tiffany McDaniel 💜 “Don’t let it happen to you, Betty. Don’t ever be afraid to be yourself. You don’t wanna live so long only to realize, you ain’t lived at all.” Synopsis Betty is a coming-of-age tale based upon the authors mother’s upbringing in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Heavily infused with the stunning storytelling and culture of the Cherokee people, Betty is the story of the Carpenter family. 💭 This is truly one of the saddest books I have ever read 😭. The author manages to explore a multitude of heavy themes including SA, racism, poverty mental health, through her beautifully poetic prose. There are many trigger warnings for this one so please check before reading. This book is sad. It’s heartbreaking and tragic, it will break your heart in two, but Betty’s relationship with her father is one of the lights that shines through all the darkness. Landon Carpenter and Betty will always have a place in my heart. My one issue was the animal cruelty that happened in this story. It really bothered me more than I expected. I had to put the book down for a a couple of days before reading it again. I decided on a 4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ on this read. Overall a harrowing, heartbreaking but very important read. 🍻 Drunk On You 🍻 + my monday morning reading ambiance which was perfection. this was my first @authornikkiash book and it won’t be my last. her writing is amazing and i quickly fell in love with these characters! the chemistry, the emotions, the banter, the spice... everything. *chefs kiss* these two started off both fighting for the CEO position, but in the end, it brought them closer together, a fake engagement turned real. Julian worked his butt off to get to where he is, brought up with nothing and now he’s making a name for himself, the determination of that man! 🧚🏼Book Review 🧚🏼 To spark a fae war Tessonja Odette ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2🌶️ This is the final book of the Fair isle trilogy and while I loved book 1 I don’t love where this series moved to and ended on. The fair isle trilogy takes place many years before the bulk of Tessonjas works which is a series of interwoven fairytale retellings. These books are hyped as the best of her career and the fair isle trilogy is not needed for those books to make sense but are a great place to start to get an understanding for the world building and magical component. Evie’s character arc went downhill and our strong, resilient human doctor who was able to hold her own against immortal fae males suddenly turned nasty and self interested. The other characters were much more interesting and I was glad to see more of them. Hopefully more of them in future stories as well. As I said in the review of book 2, I don’t think a trilogy should be just in a single POV. It was exhausting and repetitive at times. It is also hard to be happy when you know deep inside that you are still hurting. We tend to forgive easily but when it comes to ourselves, it seems like it’s too much to give. We always think other people first and keep betraying and letting ourselves suffer over and over again. Maybe now is the best time for us to choose and prioritize ourselves. It may sounds cliché but in the end of the day, we only got ourselves. Let us always remind ourselves that we are worthy and loved, and I bet that your younger self would be so proud of you. This is the first self-help book I’ve ever read and it feels like it was me who wrote it, From the introduction up to the last pages surely a good book to read. I will never get tired of recommending this book if you are overcoming insecurity, depression, loving yourself and healing from your past. Rereading this book because I can’t help not to give a proper book review and might need to refresh my mind and soul.

➡️ Restless Stars - Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti ➡️ Zodiac Academy, book 9 (yes, it truly is the last one!!) ⭐⭐⭐ / 5 ✅ Last 15% ✅ Sweet epilogues ✅ Lance Orion ✅ Ruthless Faes of the Zodiac cameos ✅ Action scenes ✅ Magic and magical creatures ✅(🆗) Characters (some are great, others felt more bland in this book) ✅(🆗) Multiple POVs (not as bad as in the 8th book) 🆗 Plot 🆗❌ Info dumps AND flashbacks mixed together 🆗❌ Unsatisfying ending ❌ Length ❗️❗️ Trigger warnings: deaths (like, a lot), death of loved ones, blood, mild gore have mixed feelings. This is a bittersweet ending. I will miss the characters dearly, but I am happy that the series is finally over because it dragged on for way too long. The beginning of the book was good, and the last 15% were great. Between that though, there were many pointless side quests, flashbacks, and random info dumps, and it felt as though the authors knew where they wanted the story to go, but they didn’t have the map to get there. I have to say that it was interesting to see some of the pairings for these side quests, and I liked seeing characters who didn’t usually work together being forced to collaborate. However, besides that, it still felt like useless complications. I loved the last 15%. The battle between the armies was epic, amazing, and full of death and magic. The rest of the book though was long for no good reason. I have to admit that I skimmed a few chapters here and there near the middle because I was getting frustrated with all the delaying and side quests when all I wanted was the epic showdown. Someone please find a good massage therapist for Lance, because he carried this book. Overall, I am happy that I gave this series a chance, and finished it. What has been your favorite May read so far? Avevo sentito dei pareri contrastanti su questa serie, tuttavia, i vari commenti non mi hanno influenzata parecchio, anzi hanno aumentato la mia curiosità a riguardo. ⌚️Alex Volkov è un ragazzo di 27 anni con un QI di 166, affascinante, di successo e scorbutico, tutto l’opposto è 📸Ava Chen, una ragazza solare, dolce, amante della fotografia e che vede in buono in tutto. 💔Essendo caratterialmente agli antipodi, il loro rapporto è disastroso già in partenza, e ad aggravare il tutto c’è il fatto che Alex è il migliore amico del fratello di Ava, Josh. ✨Con questi presupposti, sapevo che la storia mi avrebbe coinvolto ma non credevo così tanto da piangere o arrabbiarmi o ridere. 🔥Questo libro, inizialmente slow burn, comincia a incalzare a metà libro in cui emergono i traumi che hanno segnato i protagonisti da bambini e, anche se, con lo scorrere della storia si comprende chi sono i colpevoli, la narrazione è talmente coinvolgente da invogliarti ad andare avanti perché si ha la necessità di sapere come la storia verrà gestita dall’autrice. 🥵L’autrice è stata molto brava a creare la giusta tensione tra i due protagonisti, accentuata ancor di più quando le descrizioni di Alex sono dal punto di vista di Ava😏. 🌶️Non sono mancate le scene spicy, e devo dire che non sono state poi così male: Alex è il tipico ragazzo burbero e tutto d’un pezzo che non si scompone mai, ma durante la passione le sue inibizioni cadono e si scioglie mostrandoci un Alex affamato di amore e di affetto che compensa con delle frasi o azioni non proprio delicate e, per me, questo aspetto è in sintonia con il personaggio. As the MVP Violet B says, “He had the courage to ask”. Book and show, I loved watching Penelope step out with the determination to change her path. She was a woman on a mission!!! And Lady Danbury had my fave quote from the book. I truly felt like this was just as much a story of Penelope loving herself as much as she did Colin. There were some super cute moments and the story overall was fun, but it hasn’t kicked Benedict’s book out of the top for me 😅 I’m so ready to see the rest of the #polin story!!! Questo libro è stata una matriosca e l’ho divorato proprio come Sloane divorava libri vicina alla sua finestra. La ragazza che portava gli occhiali, quella che credeva che il vicino dai tormentati occhi scuri fosse fuori dalla sua portata, è cresciuta e il vicino è diventato un uomo insopportabile. Lucy Score è una maestra nel tenerti incollata alle pagine. Egregia sia nei dialoghi, che nella descrizione dei luoghi, emozioni e profumi ti trascina dentro alle sue storie lasciandoti incapace di realizzare che quello che stai leggendo non sia reale. Capace di svelare un doloroso dettaglio dopo l’altro, un “e se” di troppo lasciandoti la speranza che le cose sarebbero potute essere diverse. Tutti i modi in cui vuole proteggerla e tenerla al sicuro. Arrampicarsi sull’albero che affaccia alla sua finestra senza che nessuno se ne accorga. Le emozioni del primo amore. Mi ha dato vibes che non provavo da tempo e l’ha fatto piazzare tra i miei libri preferiti. Knockemout è un posto sicuro dove tornare. Lucian voleva era lasciarsi tutto alle spalle per far parte della famiglia che si meritava davvero, i Walton erano un’ancora per lui. Non mi capita spesso di sentire il dolore dei protagonisti, ma quello di Lucian me lo sono bevuto fino all’ultima goccia.Il fatto che ognuno di noi si senta indegno di quello che ha o di quello che potrebbe avere a dispetto di quello che siamo fin dalla nascita… Mi lascia senza parole. Non dobbiamo mai dare la nostra felicità per vinta. Genre: Thriller Rating: 2.5/5 🔪Imagine you grew up reading about a dreamy city, with a building that offers spectacular views from its flats. 🔪Now, 20yrs later you end up in that dream city, but jobless & one fine day you are recruited as an apartment sitter in the very same building that you've read about. And the amount you receive is more than your usual job could offer, but the rules you have to follow are insane. 🔪I'm sure you'd look for a catch in this, right? But, our MFC Jules, like any other MFC's in Sager's books (I've read 2) appears to never use her brains. 🔪On the very 1st night she has some eerie experiences & hears sounds & gets weird dreams. This part keeps the reader hooked. 🔪 Jules happens to befriend Ingrid on her 1st day & the next day she hears Ingrid has left the Bartholomew (the building) late night without informing anyone. 🔪The plot gets interesting as Jules starts suspecting that Ingrid hasn't left but something worst has happened to her. So begins the hunt & a little sleuthing by Joules on her own. 🔪 The reader is hooked upto the plot twist. The culprit was easily predictable & the twist, let's just say it wasn't twisting. It simply took a different route. 🔪This was my 3rd Sager & I have a ratio of 2:1 for enjoying the books. I don't think I'll be reading another Sager book. 🔪And, oh the title! I found no connection whatsoever with the plot. Neither did any of Jules dreams about her family make any sense to me. 🔪If you are new to the thriller genre, give this a try. Scotland’s largest second hand bookstore 📍Leakey’s, Inverness Last weekend I took a train ride up to Inverness to visit Leakey’s. There was so many second hand books including some contemporary novels, folio editions and there was also vintage prints.
