A lesson in patience - these two plants are the same! I started them from the same seed packet, in the same trays, same soil and conditions inside (you get the point) 🥦 I was getting crazy and OFP one day in April and planted a bunch of my seedlings and basically they never grew again 🥲 So I’ll probably be culling the things I planted overzealously - it hurts to do but it was a great lesson and I won’t do it again next year 🫱🏻🫲🏼 next year I will wait until Mother’s Day to transplant. This shed was on the property when I moved into my house in 2012. It was originally a greenhouse but hadn’t been used as such in a long time. Yesterday I took the first step toward restoring it to its original purpose. Took me 4.5 hours to pressure wash approximately 15 (or more) years worth of grime, mold, algae, moss, lichens, and even tiny mushrooms off of it. We're looking forward to a sunny warm weekend in Seattle, spending several days in the 70s (20-25C), with lows staying above 50F (10C) for the first time this year. Tulip season was so beautiful this year 🌷 Although I normally harvest every single tulip from the cut flower patch for my flower farmer business @pacific.floral . this past year I planted a bunch of perennial Darwin tulips in one of my garden beds I built to enjoy ourselves in the landscape. These beautiful white tulips were so stunning! My dad called them the white swans of the garden 🦢! They are still blooming today along with an assortment of other pastel colors. First harvest of 2024. Currently have radish, beets and carrots planted. I tested out planting potatoes in the ground last fall to save time in the spring. May 7, 2024 - it’s a beautiful evening and I’m itching to plant up my warm weather seedlings like tomatoes, peppers, ground cherries, golden berries and dahlias!! Thankfully they seem ok even though it’s still cool at night. I was fearful the tomatoes wouldn’t make it, but they’ve perked up (after removing yucky looking lower leaves.)
