When I Blamed My Husband It took some time for me to realize that God loved my husband as much as He loved me. When i pointed out my husband's flaws, namely his sin of drinking, (when he knew God wanted him to stop), I didn't even consider the possibility that I had wrongs too. It reminds me of the scripture in Matt 7:3, "“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?" I remember well, hearing Joyce Meyer teach on this in a manner that convicted me. God sees all of us who are saved through the spilled blood of Jesus. We are white as snow, not condemned. When we accuse our spouses before God, we are in essence siding with the enemy, being the accuser. Because of Jesus, and what He did for our believing spouses on that cross, God has no choice but to stand by His Word and sees them as blood bought and righteous. This puts us at odds with the Father! It took some time, but I eventually realized, as Joyce taught, that the plank in my eye, was slamming against my husband, beating him down at every turn. I first had to get the plank out of my own eye. And the funny thing is, once I did, the animosity toward my husband began to turn into empathy. I could feel Gods love for Him. Because I now had a vessel where Holy Spirit could dwell and love my husband through me. "Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart." (Psalms 37:4) I took delight in Him (spent time with, fell in love with, found everything I needed in the Lord) & He gave me (placed inside me) the desires of my heart. And this included a newfound ability to love my husband...even at his worst. He will for you too. If you have anger, animosity, or even hatred toward your alcoholic spouse, God can and wants to fix it. It takes surrender to His will & His ways & giving up the blame. Let God in to work on you so He can get to your husband. You may be the only Jesus he ever sees. While on the bridge I prayed to God that I wanted a picture with a blue butterfly, after I finished my prayer a few blue butterflies flew over my head and I soon caught one. I wanted another picture so I prayed again and asked for a blue butterfly and my prayer was answered once again. Although it was a small gesture the Lord answered and that’s a word in itself. “When we turn to Jesus Christ, we are able to do things we never dreamed were possible. Or survive things we wish we never had to face.“ I will always walk with God. When times are rough or when times are amazing, I will always pray and have faith in Him. From someone who has seen rock bottom, to becoming a strong, motivated and unbreakable woman I am now. The amount of healing I’ve done through Him is insane. ❤️‍🩹🙏🏻 All I genuinely want is peace and love and just pure happiness. Following His plan and having faith in Him, I’m already there. Surviving my worst fears and becoming the best version of myself. I’m extremely proud of myself. Nowhere am I near perfect, but everyday I will continue to hold my head high, do my best and to do the right thing and continue to knock down whatever is trying to hold me back. As my dad had always told me.. Just keep moving forward. I still and will always thank God through the good and bad. The Lord has helped me heal and has given me such strength, I will forever be grateful. I pray for you reading this as well. My hope is in Him... . "For our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers." - 1 Timothy 4:10b NLT . Have you ever imagined what it would be like to be permanently blind? Imagine not knowing how to read, being able to drive a car, or seeing colour, or enjoy watching your children playing. Imagine what it would be like to have to get around with a white cane or a seeing eye dog? . I can only imagine the benefit and support something like a seeing eye dog brings someone who is blind. The dogs don’t just keep them company, they become their eyes, they protect them from unseen dangers and so much more. There is a huge amount of trust placed in those dogs, and there needs to be as the person’s life is in the hands of the seeing eye dog. . Well, how different would our lives be if we placed our trust in Father God like that? How many bad decisions could we have avoided if we sought out Father’s advice first. Our Father doesn’t want us to pray only when things are going wrong and we are desperate. He wants to walk with us every single day. He wants us to lean on Him, to trust Him and seek His advice in all we do. . Imagine He made an appointment to meet with you tomorrow morning. What questions would you ask as He sits in the chair opposite you? Why not make a list and then tomorrow just ask Him. Let your trust be in Him daily. He will never lead you astray. . You don’t need an excuse, or covid lockdown, to say no to things you don’t want to do. You definitely don’t want to have an illness or accident to blame for not going to a family function, hanging out with people who make you feel bad, or as a reason for spending time on self care. A lot of people have told me that one of the positive impacts lockdown was staying home rather than doing things they felt obligated to do without having to give an explanation, make an excuse or share their true feelings. Can you relate? Did you make any changes to your habits after lockdown? Lots of help with setting healthy boundaries and expressing your feelings in my book. 💖

Are you struggling with any worries or concerns today? Take a moment to reflect on what you're grateful for and release any negative thoughts or emotions that will steal your joy. I know it's easier said than done. But I came across the slogan "𝙇𝙚𝙩 𝙂𝙤 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙇𝙚𝙩 𝙂𝙤𝙙" in my daily dose of Courage to Change readings this morning, and it's a phrase I use All. The. Time. Sometimes, we can get stuck in negative thinking or worrying about things beyond our control. If we're not careful, this can become a vicious cycle that drains our energy. "Let Go and Let God" reminds us to let go of things beyond our control, focus on what we can control, and let God handle the rest. I also find it helpful to recite the Serenity Prayer. And if someone hurts you, remember it's only temporary. Don't hold onto that negative energy. Instead, say this little prayer: "𝘽𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢, 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙡 𝙢𝙚." Accept the situation and move on. Accepting reality can help you feel more peaceful, and you'll be able to let go of the weight of that hurt that's been holding you down. #protectyourpeace So, let's focus on the positive aspects of our lives, such as our supportive friends and family, the beauty around us, and the challenges that make us stronger. Life is too short to waste time wishing things were different. Today, remind yourself that you're only responsible for what's in your control. Throughout the years we’ve been programmed to accept and even glorify negative emotions as if they will always be a part of us or who we are. Emotions and mental disorders are very real and very painful, but we do not have to live in this dark reality. We have a choice! Mental health awareness month magnifies a problem, but rarely offers the solution. It merely keeps people in an endless cycle of anxiety, shame, guilt, anger, depression, and a state of "acceptance" that years of therapy can't seem to heal. Letting go of the negative emotions that have been part of our daily lives isn’t simple, but it is possible. It takes bold prayer, bold faith, understanding, and full submission to God to see the abundant life he has for all of us (John 10:10). Healing requires letting go of “my anxiety” and “my depression”, and declaring this truth, "through his stripes I am healed" (Isaiah 53:5). In Christ I am more than a conqueror and an overcomer! As the timeless Proverbs 23:7 says, "as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he." Don't give up hope, trust God! I had a blast with my relentlessyrooted family last Friday night. One thing that I have realized about God is that He requires space in order to move. If there is no space for God in an area in your life then He cannot move there. God structures spaces, He’s an architect. He’s the best interior designer, because if you can give Him the space then He will fill it with Himself. Scripture says that He “inhabits” the praises of His people, He’s a gentleman so He can only dwell in the places where there is space for Him. I hope this helped someone. Thankful Wednesday! I am approved for massage therapy 😃 "Nothing beats the feeling of relaxation that comes with a soothing massage. Went to Charles Penzone for my 1st session, and I had a Mind +Body Melt CBD massage. All the inflammation of neuropathy and the healing process of my stoma today's massage ease some of the tension in my leg and around my abdominal area. Today, makes 1️⃣ month being at home: I can get dress by myself. I can drive short distances. I'm getting use to changing my ostomy bag. First pic showing my STOMA! This boy right here. 🩷 Becoming his mother is part of my testimony. That God’s plan is far greater than any of mine. That prayers are always heard but sometimes answered differently. That the only way is to let go and let God. That losing my way and my hope helped me find my faith and my relationship with God again. That I was worthy of the task and deserving of great love. So it comes as no surprise that God remains at work in my sweet boy. Much doubt and worry have flooded my heart lately as Joey becomes a part of a new (and wonderful!) family, and the fear of losing any part of him, who has become my very heart and soul, has me on my knees more than ever. But God always shows up. And as of late, He’s shown up in extra hugs and “I love you, mom”. In walks together and invites to the movies. In deep conversations and lots of laughter. Amongst my fear of losing or being without, God has overflowed my cup. Mother’s Day is certainly a celebration of the abundant and tireless blessings that mothers provide to their family. But for me, it’s also about praising God. Owner or tenant…? . "Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? When you own your own home, you have the freedom to paint, change flooring, hang pictures and move furniture as you like because it is your house. As the owner you have a lot of freedom, however, when you are renting, your freedom is limited depending on the agreement you have with your landlord. . Understanding the difference between ownership and tenancy should help us understand the principle through spiritual eyes. . Some people like the benefit of eternal salvation, but they also want the freedom to run their own lives, but it can’t work that way. Once we commit our lives to Jesus and make Him Lord of our lives, we no longer own our body. We transfer ownership to God and the Holy Spirit comes to live inside us. Jesus bought us through His shed blood on Calvary. . When you consider all that He offers us the price is very generous indeed. Father wants to lead us in all we do, but we still need to make a choice to allow Him. The simple question is, "When it comes to your life, are you the owner or the tenant?" . Sometimes, the best thing we can do will be to do nothing at all. (I admit it’s hard for this girl who tries to fix everything, including her people. Anybody?) Times when you will need to step back and choose not to join the conversation, even when you feel like you have tons to say. Deciding not to participate even when it is good things you want to accomplish. Letting what you want to do go undone simply because God told you to let it go. Pressing pause on a busy schedule to rest. Sometimes, the best thing we can do for ourselves and others is to do nothing at all. Let go, and let God. Rest in Him. Be still and know. There will be times when doing nothing will be the work of God we have been called to do. May we also do this great work well.
