𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚 𝐰𝐞𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞 There is no point to this post except, look how happy I am. My lovely friend Alison (@scottishmarathongirl ) said this to me today and I feel it’s true. I genuinely feel really content and I’m loving the direction my training has taken. After listening to the @press_play_and_run_podcast I have serious FOMO over not training for a spring marathon but I know and feel it isn’t right for me just now, and to be honest the face says it all! Running less but adding in the strength and conditioning and upping my yoga practice is paying off. Yes I’m still tired, but I sort of feel revived. I enjoy my workouts, they don’t feel as much of a chore and the variation has definitely improved my fitness levels. So not a huge point to this post, but if you’re feeling stuck in a rut….mix it up. Certains vêtements de fitness sont très jolis mais n'ont aucun maintien pour les gros entraînements intenses, sont trop compressifs ou pas assez confortables... Avonnaise 2024 / 5km / 2ème femme 20'32 mais askip il manquait au moins 200m ! Mais bon yavait le denivelé hein du coup ça va? 😜 Fière de mon mental 🥰 J'ai bien géré mon discours interne tout du long, j'ai réussi à bien attaquer dès le début... pas de panique, pas de "freeze" ni de "flight", que du "flow" et "fight", malgré ma cheville fragile. Bien contente ! Maintenant, il faudra faire pareil à l'hyrox, et ne pas paniquer 😂 10min avant le départ je cherchais encore quelqu'un pour lui donner mon dossard à cause de mon bobo au pied...(tendinite?). Mais l'adrénaline et l'envie d'envoyer ont été plus forts que le bon sens 😅 La grosse crêpe mangée avant "bouhou je m'en fiche je ne pourrais pas courir de toute façon" m'a rappelée pourquoi la diète avant une compétition était importante 😜 ☘️ Merci @course_l_avonnaise pour l'organisation 👏 j'ai apprécié le parcours, technique, avec du denivelé et de la forêt. Tout était clair, l'organisation était parfaite, merci au staff et aux bénévoles ! 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙯𝙤𝙣𝙚 The typical definition of a Comfort Zone is a behavioural state, within which an individual operates in an anxiety-neutral condition When we are comfortable and experiencing no anxiety or challenging stimulus, humans tend to become extremely sedentary, both physically and mentally We value comfort and convenience above almost all else, in fact, and we are very good at lateral thinking and finding shortcuts to simplify and ease processes, which means we are reluctant to make changes to these systems once in place. Routine, Pattern, Familiarity, Relaxation, static Repetition are all hallmarks of a Comfort Zone. That said, Comfort Zones are absolutely a good thing ! They provide safety, recovery, mental surety, and balance, and are much needed and natural parts of us. We should be balancing our time between comfort and growth; comfort is a physical and mental resting place. 𝙉𝙊 𝙀𝙓𝙋𝙀𝘾𝙏𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉𝙎..... I signed up to the HYROX Glasgow event a little under 4 weeks ago 😅😬 with no specific training up to that point simply because I wanted to go into this event as I am now , to see where my abilities lie and to experience something new I am the least competitive person you will meet, and I've embraced to expect nothing of myself during such events . My life is filled with "it is what it is" and I have stopped fighting things that are out of my control and focus my energy on what I can control: my own mindset, emotions and actions One way I'd describe myself is as an engine . I'm not good at anything in particular, but I can keep going and get through most things But what does it mean to Have No Expectations? In the most direct way, not having expectations means not expecting any specific outcome in a situation. But what it really means is to not be attached to any outcome. Often in such events it is assumed that these two concepts go hand in hand – if you expect to win or expect to do well, you can have a a confidence you will , but in some cases that expectation can hold you back from developing confidence And on this , too many of us forget our previous achievements, personal bests, small wins etc.... 4 things to remember for Hyrox Glasgow this weekend 🙌🏻 1. Any training you do from now > comp isn’t going to change much. Rest / continue with light work to remove risk of injury before the big day. Don’t over do it or feel like you have to keep going hard. You don’t & it could impact your race negatively if you keep pushing now. 2. Focus on how you fuel yourself pre-race, and don’t change it up too drastically from what you’d normally do / eat - we need your belly to be stable for this one. 3. Remember to enjoy it! Whether this is your first or your fifth Hyrox, make it count for YOU. Don’t beat yourself up just do the best you can do. 4. It’s going to be an adrenaline filled day - so be aware of that and make sure you know what you need to do beforehand to get yourself race ready. As another christmas and year comes to an end , i just want to thank every single class member , personal clients and everyone who has interacted with my account and also in person . My face when Coach James programs you 15km every weekend 😂 In all seriousness though, training in zone 2-3 is more of a mental battle than anything else. It’s long, it’s boring, it’s dull, but 5 weeks in I really am starting to see and feel a difference. The goal is to increase my aerobic capacity as I prepare to compete in my first solo @hyroxuk. I have to admit I am clueless so I am so lucky I have a clued up partner who is helping me! My long runs feel easier, my sprinting is faster, my strength is improving, I am able to be more consistent in my training, my recovery time is better, my DOMs are a SO much less. All in all, I am feeling good in my training, in my body, and in myself! So thank you Coach ❤️💪

🥇🥇🥇TOTALLY OVERWHELMED 1st Place Age Group 💪in my first ever HYROX RACE which was held at Excel London. Going into this I doubted my mental and physical ability... I doubted if I had trained with the right methods and hard enough...Was I ever really even fit enough to complete the course! I believed I could do it initially but as time closed in on Hyrox, doubt entered my mind... The only way to overcome this strong feeling was to 'Run my own Race', 'Me against Me' in my mind there was just no other way. The mind was settled & I completed my race of 8 x 1k laps & 8 grueling workouts only to finish and have massive surprise that I had achieved 1st place in my age group, podium 🥇……This has earned me a place at the HYROX WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS in LA VEGAS 2022... Am I going to go..Hell yess!!! Getting this opportunity at 50+ is crazy, 18 months ago I was just a regular gym-goer doing Pump & Kettles classes, so I guess iv come a long way in a short time...💪 I'm actually so proud of myself for the first time in my life!
