I saw this somewhere, and I thought this was a beautiful reminder, especially when we go through something we cannot control. Butterflies take a rest when it rains to protect their wings. It’s okay to rest during the storms of life. You’ll fly again once it’s over. What we can control is always being kind to ourselves and acknowledging that setbacks are a natural part of the journey. And they are just temporary. My recent setbacks were getting sick since before I got pregnant, and I was getting worse instead of better. It turned out that I needed emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder at 18 weeks of pregnancy. I was preparing for breathwork training to become a certified facilitator and mind and body coach. Still, I didn’t want my wings to get damaged if I pushed past my limits and worsened. So I told myself to rest, knowing that the time to rise again will come. That was challenging, but finally, letting it go and surrendering for a short while was worth it. I’ve spoken with a few people over the past couple of weeks, and they’ve shared with me how the last few weeks have been heavy on them, too. Because of a few life curveballs, they couldn’t do what they wanted or needed to do. So, I could relate to their stress and feeling overwhelmed. But if we learn to accept that there are some things we cannot control and continue to give kindness and compassion towards ourselves through life obstacles. It was T-shirt weather outside today ☀️ So okay, it’s only 46* out but it was sunny & I may have also had a hot flash or two but it felt amazing, so good for my soul! I have the pleasure of knowing quite a few people & when I’ve got to visit with a few friends lately, the common theme has been that life has been DIFFICULT. In some way, we are all struggling to a degree with something…illness, loss, tragedy, relationships & financial hardship. 😔 It gets heavy, I know. Going outside & feeling the warmth of the sun & soaking it in even with the cool breeze, lifted a bit of that heavy fog inside of me. I smiled more today & had more patience than usual. That benefits me & everyone around me! 😃 It doesn’t fix it all, but it gave me an attitude to approach things in a more positive way.
