Three years ago I looked at my abuser in the eye and told him he did not break me. While I believed that was enough for me at the time, it wasn’t. The hardest lesson I have learned is that you don’t always get the closure you want. A tough lesson, but one that helps me get through the hard times of when I constantly ask myself why and how this happened. The journey of healing has been the hardest part of everything, but also the most rewarding. If anything, I want my story to inspire not only children who are abused but adults who were abused as a child. It’s never too late to speak your truth and start your healing journey! Don’t be afraid to speak out against someone who has power over you or high community involvement. I’m always open to talk if you are going through abuse or are in the healing process. Good Sunday morning ya’ll. Today 76 years ago on a Wednesday at 2:55 am in the morning at City Hospital in Mobile Alabama I was born. Six pounds one ounce. I was my proud parents first born. I grew up in the 1950’s and ‘60’s before the Internet, computers, cell phones, GPS, and so much more. I rode my bicycle to school unattended and unafraid of being snatched. I attended school unafraid of being shot dead. The first president I remember was Dwight Eisenhower. I remember him building the Interstate Highways across America. I remember Sputnik, the Red Scare, backyard fallout shelters, duck and cover, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Kennedy and MLK Jr. assassinations, the Apollo 11 moon landing, and oh so much more. I am happy to be alive. Our pediatrician told my mom I wouldn’t live to see six. Failure to thrive it was called. I survived two deadly pandemics AIDS and Covid 19. I’m still standing. I proudly served my country as a commissioned U.S. Army officer for 20 some years. My military career was one of the best things I ever did for myself. Today I have good friends and a wonderful husband Steve who has loved me and who has been faithfully by my side for over 32 years. This old soldier has so damn much to be thankful and grateful for. Life is good. Jamai bezocht het afgelopen jaar 59 theaters door heel Nederland met zijn concert I’m Still Standing. Met zijn liveband en piano bracht Jamai een tribute aan zijn muzikale held Elton John. Vanwege de enthousiaste reacties van bezoekers en vele aanvragen vanuit de theaters, heeft Jamai besloten zijn theaterconcerten in seizoen 2024-2025 te verlengen. Kaartverkoop start vrijdag 24 mei. Jamai is ongelofelijk blij, tot nu toe zijn er 28.529 bezoekers bij zijn concerten te gast geweest. “Deze tour heeft me het meest verguld van alle projecten die ik de afgelopen jaren heb mogen doen!”, aldus Jamai. “Het is bizar om het leven waarop ik als kind had gehoopt, nu te mogen leven. Toen ik samen met mijn band met veel plezier en enthousiasme aan deze shows begon, had ik nooit durven dromen dat zoveel mensen samen met ons de muziek van Elton John wilden vieren. Heute ist es Jasmin Ajripour. „Hi - ich bin Jasmin und seit der Spielzeit 23.24 beim Theaterjugendclub. Ich bin richtig froh, dass ich dabei bin, weil es mir einfach Spaß macht. Wenn ich einen stressigen Tag hatte und dann noch zur Probe gehe, geht es mir dabei viel besser, weil nicht weiter daran denken muss, denn es wird viel gelacht. Und wenn ich lache, hat das oft kein Ende. Bei den Proben darf jeder mit entscheiden und dass wird auch respektiert. Ich finde die Proben auch richtig cool, wenn wir etwas Neues ausprobieren und mittlerweile ist der Theaterjugendclub auch wie eine Familie für mich. Es ist schön, weil ich neue Freunde gefunden habe und weil ich mich dort so anziehen und sein kann, wie ich möchte und keiner kommentiert das. Ich fühl mich einfach wohl und kann sein, wer ich wirklich bin und habe auch keine Angst mehr deswegen, weil alle mich gut behandeln und nett zu mir sind. Und worauf ich mich noch freue, ist unser Theaterstück, was bald schon anfängt. Ich sehe was, was du nicht und siehst…kein Spoiler, aber es gibt krasse Texte, die wir selbst geschrieben haben.
