Happy Hump Day :) #12weeksout @barrienaturalchampionships Still here but taking time to dial into my prep which has not been easy this time around . I’ve been up and down physically and mentally and dealing with severe body dysmorphia . I’ve come very close to throwing in the towel but I’m not a quitter . At close to 53, my body is simply not responding the way it used to and getting this weight off has been the hardest thing I’ve ever done . I now feel for women who struggle to lose weight in peri and post menopause . I have high expectations of myself and will not step on stage until I feel I’ve beat my last package by a mile . THAT FEELING OF WINNING AT HOME▪️ - All week I’ve been trying to formulate how I would put into words the emotions I went through getting to claim the @detroitpro_am Figure Overall. Thousands of words from the English language sprang to mind but none of them were able to properly capture how I felt picking up that trophy or how I still feel today basking in the win days later. - The only fitting word I can think of to share is: joy. I feel so full of joy I think I could actually burst. Joy in the knowledge that all the long nights and early mornings of the past 16+ weeks paid off. Joy in knowing I was able to claim this inaugural prize for my city and help showcase what we in Detroit can do. Joy in hearing my name shouted in the stands from my friends and family who were able to come and see me on stage, many for the first time. - I’ve received a ridiculous photo and video package from @gilcoproductions and I plan on posting them all and annoying everyone soon, but for now, I wanted to share two that represent the feeling: joy. 🥹🖤 - Thank you to @fouadabiad and his entire team for putting on an amazing first showcase with the @detroitpro_am . I am so stoked to be able to volunteer in the future and help continue to make this an unforgettable show for both the athletes and the guests. 🤌🏻 - Thank you to @gilcoproductions for producing the most insane photos, videos and livestream for this event. Content that is so good I’m still confused as to whether or not that was even me on stage. I am extremely happy with the package we brought to the stage this year as this is by far my best look! My conditioning was on point, I was the leanest I have ever been and my posing has improved BUT of course each show is a learning experience! Feedback is more back depth and glutes, other than that they said conditioning is on point and I have a great physique for Figure! . I’m happy with how far I’ve come and I’m pushing forward!! . I have to take a moment to recognize my Coach @berryswole for being there and guiding me every step of the way! I started with Andrew back in 2020 and this is definitely my best package! His dedication to detail in getting his athletes to the stage is top notch and I couldn’t be happier with how I looked yesterday! .
