Ya boy in the dad fit. Day 29 Brutal Leg day workout. I absolutely smashed a beautiful leg day. Upped the sets. Upped the volume. Introduced new exercises into the routine. It was good to be back in the gym after an extended rest period. Still felt the aftermath today while I was cooking. The daily reflection was consistency. In life, in the gym, at work, giving the same effort every day even if itโ€™s not 100%. Making sure youโ€™re able to come at it with the same energy every day with longevity in mind. First and foremost, letโ€™s work on being more mindful of what you eat. Mindful eating is really just being fully aware of what you eat and choosing things intentionally rather than mindlessly. There are a lot of ways you can do this and everything we talk about this week could be classified as mindful eating. But here are three basic tips to start eating more mindfully. ๐Ÿ‘Œ 1๏ธโƒฃ Eat when you are truly hungry. Food is meant to be fuel for our bodies. Pay attention to true physical hunger cues and try to avoid emotional eating, eating out of boredom, or eating something just because itโ€™s there. True hunger comes on gradually and creates a desire for a full, balanced meal (protein, carb, fat). However, emotional hunger comes on suddenly and is usually a craving for something specific (salty, crunchy, sweet, etc.) 2๏ธโƒฃ Take your time to eat. Simply slowing down is a great way to eat more intentionally and mindfully. When you rush your meals, you are more likely to overeat, it negatively impacts digestion and you canโ€™t recognize satiety signals. Plus, you donโ€™t get to appreciate and enjoy the food. Stop grabbing breakfast on the go, give yourself a true lunch break and sit down to enjoy a full, family dinner meal. And chew each bit at least 10 times! 3๏ธโƒฃ Stop eating when you are full. When you take your time to eat, your stomach has more time to communicate with your brain when you are full. This is an important part of eating more intentionally. Rather than eating until you feel sick, stop when you start to feel the first sign of fullness. You will continue to feel full over the next few minutes and then you will feel satisfied, but not miserable. Just start with these 3 things and you will notice a huge difference!

We tend to find more meaning when we are involved with and serving others and contributing to a greater purpose in the world. Serving only yourself and your selfish desires may give you immediate satisfaction, but will not lead to long-term fulfillment. We are not created that way! God created us for a life of service and loving others. Generosity also boosts your self-esteem and happiness and lowers stress and anxiety. Always keep the bigger picture in mind. Forget about material possessions and status. Instead, think about what kind of legacy you want to leave behind. How do you want to be remembered? Finally, before you get distracted and consumed by wanting more, you need to first be grateful for what you already have. Expressing gratitude has been shown to strengthen relationships, improve physical and emotional health, improve sleep and increase energy and overall happiness. ๐ŸŒŸ Week 1 of the HDOR ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ Iโ€™m thrilled to share that Iโ€™ve successfully completed the first week of the Hundred Days of Running challenge! Itโ€™s my first time sticking to a running routine for seven consecutive days, and I couldnโ€™t be prouder. Over the past week, Iโ€™ve covered a total of 35 kilometers, which is a significant achievement for me and the most Iโ€™ve run in months. Whatโ€™s even more exciting is the progress Iโ€™ve seen in such a short time. My VO2max has increased by 0.4 points, showing that consistent effort really does pay off. Iโ€™ve also noticed improvements in my sleep โ€“ on average, Iโ€™m getting 58 minutes of deep sleep each night, which is making a big difference in how I feel during the day. Of course, there have been challenges along the way. Iโ€™ve noticed that my heart rate tends to spike during faster runs, but Iโ€™m optimistic that as I continue to train and lose weight, this will improve. Looking ahead to the next 93 days of the challenge, Iโ€™m feeling determined and excited. I canโ€™t wait to see how much more progress I can make and how far I can push myself. How many new things have you started, that you never fully completed? How many new routines have you tried to implement that never stuck?
