Achievement….. Yesterday I achieved something I thought wasn’t possible given all the set backs I’ve been having when it comes to running but more so in the mountains I took a big step out of my comfort zone and decided to do a long run in the hills to see how my body felt and if I can start to do this more often….. thankfully it held up well but it wasn’t the easiest run coming back and I did feel like it was the first time I had ever ran in the mountains Luckily I had @hebski_trailswithdogs with me who kept me going by how strong she is and making me more determined to keep up with her….. it really made me keep focused and not give up! We couldn’t have chosen a better day with the weather and route choice was definitely a good starting point with more gradual ascents and descents but that didn’t stop me getting DOMs on the last climb Overall a good learning experience as I am definitely not as mountain fit as I could be and I only have one gear at the moment but I know with more specific training that will come overtime, for now just knowing I can go into the mountains without any issues is the confidence I need to keep building

SWCP Day 18 - Gwithian to Hayle, bus hop to St Ives then hike to Zennor 🥾Hiking Distance: 19k , 12 miles 🌫️Weather: low cloud / mist almost to sea level ☕️Breakfast: instant porridge and a bit of bread and goats cheese 🪶Wildlife spot: Cornish choughs The weather is so changeable in this part of the world. Yesterday brilliant sunshine, today no sight of the sky, just low mist and cloud all day. I packed up my sodden tent and headed down the enormous stretch of sand that is Gwithian/Towans beach and into Hayle. I passed the famous Phelps Bakery, who make the best Cornish pasties according to absolutely everyone. Disappointingly, I had to give them a miss as I had a steak and stilton pasty yesterday, and nearly vommed it up climbing out of Portreath. I’m now totally off pasties. Great chats again, including guy from Yorkshire on the beach with his dog and new metal detector looking for pirate treasure. There were many shipwrecks on this part of the coast, including apparently those of the Spanish Armada carrying looted treasure. I’d decided yesterday to jump on the bus at Hayle into St Ives to miss a less interesting piece of trail and to not to have to stay in St Ives. Apparently, this is a legit move according to Paddy Dillon, the author of the authoritative guide to the SWCP. I dodged all the unsmiling, meandering tourists in St Ives and headed out on the coast path to Zennor where I had a room booked at The Tinners Arms (sorry Paul Mower). 7 miles I thought, piece of cake. Never has 7 miles seemed so long. Twisty, rocky, up and downy. Nothing difficult, but my head hadn’t accounted for the nature of the trail and I expected a little stroll. Perhaps I should have read the guidebook. My reward is a stay at The Tinners Arms, a Grade-II listed traditional Cornish pub in a remote location dating back to 1271. Gili Trawangan🏝️ Crystal clear water, white sand beaches, and amazing snorkeling opportunities. It’s the largest of the 3 Gili Islands but still only 3 km long by 2 km wide. There are no motorized vehicles allowed on the islands so the only way to get around is on foot, by bicycle, or by horse-drawn carriage.

Being a human is painful. I have this perverse benefit of having been through so much awful pain in my life that I can write this ⬆️ (in a text in reply to my friend) and feel that it is true. So much of what we’re sold is really ill-disguised attempts at saying: “hey! I can make your pain GO AWAY if you do/buy X Y Z!” Which is why I can’t ever say that. People have asked me for guarantees - I haven’t ever given them. But what I DO know is this: doing work such as that in a programme with me, WILL help you: 💫 see yourself more clearly… 💫 with more acceptance… 💫 more kindness… 💫 more love.. 💫 more peace 💫 learn tools to help you navigate the tough stuff 💫 which will result in more self-belief. And THAT ⬆️ feels like what we sometimes call ‘confidence’. And from THAT place, who knows what might be possible for you? There is nothing quite like the feeling of riding round the country lanes and hills where I’ve grown up, knowing that I’ve wanted this for so long. ☺️ I’ve played on motorbikes and scooters here and there over the years, but mostly in other countries. Its taken me over 10years before I had the real F*** it moment and started getting my bike qualifications last year. Do you find yourself trying to please everyone to the point where you lose your own voice? This reflection hit home for me during our Beyond Trauma workshop. As a group leader, I realised I was carrying the weight of guilt for not doing 'enough.' But then, something shifted. For the first time, I let go of that burden. Images from my past surfaced, wounds and traumas that needed release. It felt like a mental and emotional 'defrag,' clearing space in my heart and mind. With the group's support, I granted myself permission to let go. It was liberating, and I'm proud of taking that step. Today, I'm shedding the need to play small. I'm embracing my voice and presence, unapologetically. It's a journey, and not everyone will understand, but I'm finding my place as I allow myself to be seen and heard - for perhaps the first time. SWCP Day 15 - Treyarnon Bay to Newquay 🥾Distance: 22k 13.75 miles 🌦️💨Weather: showers, sideways rain, blustery and cool ⛰️Elevation: 492m ☕️Breakfast: instant porridge and Greek yoghurt at YHA, then Cornish breakfast (English breakfast in Cornwall) at Mawgan Porth Another day of blustery rain showers and jacket on, jacket off. Mostly on actually. Temperature felt very cool to this Pom very much acclimatised to Australia. I’m loving the gentler terrain and how that translates to ease of walking. Gone are those constant steep sided valleys, replaced by more wave like rolling of the land. I set off just after 7:30. No one in the youth hostel had surfaced, so had it all to myself for breakfast. People don’t start early in the UK, probably something to do with the lack of warmth in the morning. Arrived at Mawgan Porth just after 10 and looked for somewhere to get out of the rain and get food. The Merrymoor Inn was perfect and I got a front table seat with views over the bay (next to a couple ordering their second pint of Guinness 🙀). Mawgan Porth has a really lovely beach and apparently Cate Blanchett is building a house there. I reached the UK’s surfing capital of Newquay early afternoon and called it a day there. I need to cross The Gannel just outside of Newquay and the tide needs to be low to do so in order to avoid a lengthy walk around. Everyone loved this route! On day 3 we headed up Moel Siabod via the Ddear Ddu ridge - which is a great grade 1 scramble up to the summit. For me it was day 4 in the mountains (after being on a course on Thursday). We aimed to keep this a shorter day because of getting off the mountains early due to the thunderstorm forecast and we all wanted to be back home at a reasonable time. All in all, a great weekend of training for Tour du Mont Blanc. I finished the weekend on 44 miles and over 12,500ft of elevation and 75 miles for the week! I got the chance to practice some nutrition stuff and carrying heavy kit (with 3 litres of water). I also got to practice navigation, leading, route planning etc for my Mountain Leader log book! SWCP Day 14 - Padstow to Treyarnon Bay 🥾Distance: 18.5k 11.5 miles ⛰️Elevation: 415m 🌦️💨Weather: rain showers and really bloody windy Today was a relatively short day, much easier going and my legs were very thankful. After yesterday’s rest, I positively bounced along on the lovely springy grass of the low cliffs and headlands, until I got to any steps and legs flatly refused to bounce up those. I started at Padstow, which is full of eateries and nice shops and I’m sure is lovely to look around, but I’m not here to buy nice shit from shops, so off I went. The clouds were positively scudding across the sky, the wind was ferocious, one minute you had rain hurled sideways at you, the next the sun peaked through. One of those days where rain jacket is on, then off, then on again. Thought process was constantly, “is that cloud going to dump on me, or will it scud on by? “. Despite the wind and on off rain, I really enjoyed today. I decided to stop earlier than originally planned and booked in at the YHA at Treyarnon Bay due to the wind situation and my tent not being hugely compatible. The campsites I checked were a bit too exposed for my liking. Observations: Beach sauna contraptions seem a thing here. When did this start? And why? YHAs overlooking the sea and with bars are excellent. I love the beautiful herringbone stone walls with the plants growing all through them. My biggest fails in the conversion so far ⤵️ This whole ‘building a micro camper yourself’ isn’t always a vibe! And trust me when I say it’s not been bloody easy. I am learning as I go, and I am making a lot of mistakes along the way. Some of them mistakes are really making me question why on earth I am doing this. Things that have failed: 1. Window tint - BIG FAIL. My toxic trait was thinking it was easy 😅 2. Thinking I could get away with not spending money. I’ve already had to fork out for new wood because the pieces I had haven’t fit. I’ve try to get by with what I have but that has caused some serious patch work. 3. Not having the necessary tools and then having to wait until ordered pieces arrive. 4. Spending every spare moment I have on the van and then slowly loosing the will to live. I feel like my passion project is becoming something I’m getting frustrated with which in short is making me sad!! I know when it’s finished it will be something to be proud of by right now, I think I need a break. Paddling the River Wharfe 🏄♀️ We had great plans today to do a 12km SUP down the River Wharfe but, us being us we got very distracted by iced lattes, a beach we found and swimming that we ended up only paddling 4km because we ran out of time. 🤦♀️ Ricoh had clearly forgotten everything I taught him about paddleboarding too because he just casually walked off the board about 4 times and wouldn't listen to a word I told him. 🐕 Great fun though and I don't believe it's going to rain tomorrow - it's just too beautiful right now to even consider that! What is true for me? This sunshine reminded me of a saying that bugs me... (often prevalent in the outdoors/adventure world): “there’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad kit!” Big, giant, fat YAWN to that 🥱 It comes from the same genre of nonsense as “no pain, no gain”. It usually comes with a side dose of superiority from the one uttering it. You know what? I bloody love sunshine 😎 [even though it tries to kill me, thanks skin cancer!] And I love loving sunshine. I love having weather which makes experiences more enjoyable (& have MANY things in which the weather has been SHITE!) I love being a positive person & enjoying fun things. If that makes me ‘basic’ or ‘soft’, bite me. It isn’t toxic positivity - we can’t put a positive spin on everything, & that is NORMAL! (There is a neutral way to view things - a post for another day) This rather Puritan “one must m suffer & earn good things or else they don’t feel as good” is BULLSHIT. Believe me, I’ve had more than my fair share of life-crap, & there are some things NO amount of spin will change. 💫 there is NO shame in enjoying life. 💫 NO shame in chasing joy. 💫 You DON’T have to suffer in order to DESERVE wonderful things. Many wonderful things might require work that might be hard, or need us to get outside our comfort zone - & THAT is 100% ok. Adventures often involve a challenge & adversity element, but it is not the ONLY thing which makes the experience worthwhile Growth is NOT suffering (growth can often come from suffering - but it isn’t essential or even always possible). Many wonderful things do NOT require that it must be uncomfortable. It is SUCH an unhealthy mindset that we must EARN joy. Or without an element of suffering, an experience isn’t as valid. I’m claiming back the pursuit of joy, & not enforced suffering or self-flagellation. 💫 Leisure without having EARNED it 💫 joy without guilt 💫 activity without PURPOSE So, what’s your version of this?
First camping trip of the year. A lot of sun, witnessed a proposal in my favourite place, cried a little (lol) and tired out the little Bebe 🐾🫶🏽 I missed my trips alone, but I think I’ve outgrown them. Sometimes I over share, but I do it because maybe someone else resonates with it. Theres times I come across intimate details of someone’s life when they’re being vulnerable, and it makes me feel less alone, ya know? But there’s people who use information against you sometimes, or what they think they know, and I feel really sorry for those people, because their lives must really lack something in order to do that continuously. Hello Instagram…….it’s been a minute, but I felt this deserved its space on the grid. I can now say that I’m a fully qualified Mountain Leader! 🥳 After a very stressful few months preparing, and a very stressful week of assessment, it’s great to be able to say it out loud, although I’m still not sure it’s sunk in. I am so unbelievably pleased after months/years, of putting it off. 🤦🏻♀️ It’s nice to have a qualification to validate all the experience, training and prep. A very stressful week of navigating in the mist, pointing out random flora and fauna and ropework all whilst demonstrating leadership skills, made so much better by sharing it all with such a fab bunch of folk and lovely assessors. 🥰⛺️⛰️ Who knew traipsing about in the mist could be so much fun. Now just to decide what next, but before that…….time to compleat those Munros. ⛰️🏴 And a genuine, heartfelt thank you for all the genuine support and help over the past few months as I was prepping. I’m so grateful to have so many people believe in me when I struggle to believe in myself sometimes. So thank you. 🥰 xx

There is nothing quite like the feeling of riding round the country lanes and hills where I’ve grown up, knowing that I’ve wanted this for so long. ☺️ I’ve played on motorbikes and scooters here and there over the years, but mostly in other countries. Its taken me over 10years before I had the real F*** it moment and started getting my bike qualifications last year. Day 43: At 1am we pack up our gear, maybe for the last time. We're 20 miles away from Kotzebue, our endpoint. We will either arrive today or tomorrow. We know that the headwind has died down by the amount of mosquitoes on our tent: hundreds of bloodthirsty insects wait for us. We begin paddling. Swarms of mosquitoes surround us, DEET is not working anymore. Again and again tears stream down my face. I dream of fresh food and a shower but the thought of this adventure ending feels bittersweet, a bit like losing a friend. At 8am we reach the delta. There are no more camping spots, if we can’t do the ocean crossing, we have to paddle upstream to find a spot to spend the night. We take a quick break, stuff food into our mouths faster than we can chew to not lose time. The wind has picked up considerably. We assess the situation. The crossing seems manageable. We tie our boats together - that way Ricardo won't be blown backwards every time he is waiting for me. Two hours later we pull up our boats on the rocky beach of Kotzebue. We have reached our final destination! I am overwhelmed. I can’t believe that this is the end of our adventure. For months we have walked and paddled towards this destination. At times it felt so far and unattainable and now, suddenly, we are here. We pack up our gear. I feel lost. Everything happens too fast. I knew that endings are difficult and never really satisfying but this one feels harder, it feels as if I’m brutally thrown out of a bubble I’ve been in for a long time and am not ready to leave. We have talked about this moment many times, but it feels so different. To me, it does not feel joyful, I don’t feel proud, I just feel a profound loss for this adventure that has become a way of life. Ricardo hugs me in an attempt to console me and also reminds me that he’s hungry. An hour later in a restaurant, we feel out of place and dirty, struggling to pick a meal from 40 different options after eating the same meals every day for over a month. Some California memories… 💕 This weekend we will be on our way!! It’s crazy to think it’s been almost exactly 10 years since I moved down here, fresh out of high school! It kind of feels like I’ve had so many different lives in SoCal… Starting out acting and modeling, to now writing and filmmaking (which I will very much be continuing to do up North!) and of course, all of the INCREDIBLE adventures and places I’ve seen. I feel really very lucky that I got to see so much of this beautiful state. I’ve felt ready for a new adventure for a while now, but that also always comes with a lot of mixed emotions. I’m SO excited to get out, but this also happened so quickly that there’s definitely a part of me that feels like I didn’t do everything I set out to do down here. But that’s ok, things never go really the way you plan… So goodbye for now SoCal! I know I’ll be back for a visit soon 😉 PNW… HERE WE COME!

Such a fun weekend spent in Utah. Tiffs parents drove in from Michigan to do Angels Landing. They asked us to join them and of course we couldnt say no. After a disappointing stint in Portland, I found my true bliss amidst Oregon’s stunning natural wonders. 💫 I mean I really tried to love it and went in with an open mind, as I do with any city but it really just wasn’t doing it for me. All I really crave is some fresh air and outdoor adventures, and the nature surrounding the city made up for what the city itself lacked. Colombia River Gorge, now THAT is where I should’ve pitched a tent and called home for my stay there but as with everything that comes with this life, it was a lesson learnt for next time. WAIT! there’s more to this quote ⬆️ than you think... Many people might take this as a rallying cry to get ‘more, more, more’ & ‘be more, have more, do more...because of the you’re worth it’ type messaging... Or shaming you for not ‘hustling’ hard enough in your life. That is NOT what I’m about. Sure, if you want or need more of something that brings you joy or peace or sets your soul alight then I’m delighted to help you do that. HOWEVER...settling isn’t bad, per se. Settling & comfort can feel wonderful. Sometimes it is necessary. It can feel safe. We ALL need to feel safe. HOWEVER... often we’re settling because we don’t feel we CAN reach the place where we yearn to be - & we just KNOW that it is meant for us. But we don’t know HOW, we think it isn’t possible or, worse, that we don’t DESERVE it. THAT can be down to imposter syndrome. We might even get to ‘there’ & then feel that we don’t belong, or that we’re about to get ‘found out’ 😫 If we believe that we don’t deserve it - it’s possibly that we lack self-belief or confidence. When you address these things, you find that you DO believe that you belong. You show up with genuine desire, confidence and gravitas, and others also see that you belong. AND... you STOP settling for things which do not bring out the best in you, people who take advantage of you or cause you to doubt yourself. You stop wasting time because you’re not desperately trying to ‘earn’ what you want. You stop ‘hustling for your worthiness’. You see through these situations or people that you’re tolerating or settling with for that they are - no way a reflection of YOUR self-worth. That’s the work that we do. If you want more of that, and less battling the imposter syndrome or self-doubt, give me a call. Because you deserve to be in places and with people that bring you joy, peace and success. Even if you can’t imagine feeling that way or you don’t believe it is possible. You can, and it IS possible. Freedom awaits 💫
