This book follows twin sisters, Ami & Olive, who share their looks but not their luck. Ami is the one who always seems to have things go her way and everything Olive touches basically turns to shit until she is gifted her sister’s honeymoon that she isn’t able to attend. After all of Ami’s wedding guests, including her and her husband, get food poisoning she grants Olive permission to go on her honeymoon that she won for free (of course). Olive for once beats the odds and doesn’t get sick along with her nemesis and sister’s now brother-in-law, Ethan. The catch is Olive isn’t the only one on her way to Maui… Can we guess who she’s joined by? No one other than Ethan himself. If you’re looking for a cute, light and super mushy read this one is for you. It was a little too cheesy for my taste and extremely predictable but still fun to read. The little twist that occurs to stir the pot wasn’t my favorite but it did the job. ☀️ REZENSION ☀️ [ unbezahlte Werbung | Nennung ] „The Unhoneymooners“ von Christina Lauren Inhalt: Olive ist ein richtiger Pechvogel, ständig passieren ihr seltsame Dinge, während für ihre Zwilligsschwester Amie alles super läuft. Sogar für ihre Hochzeit hat Amie kaum einen Penny bezahlt, weil sie fast alles durch Gewinnspiele ergattern konnte. So auch die Flitterwochen nach Hawaii. Doch wie es der Zufall so wollte, wurden fast alle Personen am Hochzeitstag durch eine Fischvergiftung am Büfett krank. Alle, außer Olive und Ethan. Die beiden mögen sich absolut nicht, doch erklären sich dazu bereit die Flitterwochen nach Hawaii im Namen der Frischvermählten Mr. & Mrs Thomas anzutreten. Persönlicher Leseeindruck: Was für ein unterhaltsames Buch war das bitte?! Vom ersten Satz an war ich komplett von den Charakteren fasziniert und steckte mitten in der Geschichte. Für mich waren die Charaktere sehr facettenreich und ich mochte auch die Unterschiede der Zwillingsschwestern sehr. „The Unhoneymooners“ ist ein lustiges Buch mit dem Enemies to Lovers Trope, den ich immer sehr genieße und auch hier toll umgesetzt wurde. Ich hatte große Freude daran diese beiden Streithähne bei einer romantischen Paarmassage zu begleiten, während sie sich eigentlich gar nicht mochten. Schön war es auch zu lesen, wie sich im Verlauf die Dynamik der beiden immer mehr änderte und sie zueinander gefunden haben. Natürlich konnte das Buch auch die ein oder andere Überraschung aus dem Ärmel schütteln und mir tolle Lesestunden bescheren. Großer Fan bin ich außerdem vom Setting. Hawaii ist definitiv eine Location, die zum träumen anregt. Aus diesem Grund durfte mich das Buch auch direkt in unseren Urlaub nach Griechenland begleiten. 🇬🇷 Von mir gibts eine dicke Leseempfehlung: 5 / 5 ⭐️ 💭 In welches Land würde dein Traumurlaub gehen? You know that feel good romance comedy movie that you just know will become a classic and you’ll be watching it over and over again for years? This is one of those! The Unhoneymooners will give you the classic feel good rom-com, with all the perfectly executed cliches, hilarious and heart squeezing dialogue, well developed characters and character growth. OH…and enemies to lovers!! I’m a sucker for this trope. Ms. Lauren does a great job developing the main characters relationship. It was realistic, believable and smooth. I highly recommend The Honeymooners to anyone looking for a fun, rom-com that will stick with you for years.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 2024 📚: 30 The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren This was my first Christina Lauren book and it definitely won’t be my last ☺️ I liked almost everything about this book. The plot was interesting, I liked the characters, I liked the setting (the Maui setting of course, but also the Minneapolis setting, as I live in that area 😊). I thought the book had the perfect amount of humor, and the perfect amount of emotion (which is not too much, I do not enjoy sappy stories 😂). I liked that it wasn’t super spicy (a couple open door scenes but not overly descriptive). There were only a couple things I didn’t love and they were fairly minor and didn’t really detract from my enjoyment of the story. Definitely recommend 💛

So ein tolles Buch für den Sommer🌞🌴 Es hat richtig Spaß gemacht zu lesen und hat mich auch aus meiner Leseflaute geholt. Innerhalb von 2 Tagen bin ich durch die Seiten geflogen und die Geschichte von Olive und Ethan hat mich immer wieder an den Film „Anyone but you“ erinnert🤭🩷 (Deswegen hatte ich auch ständig „unwritten“ im Kopf) Der Humor hat mich mehrmals zum Lachen gebracht und auch das Sommerfeeling wurde sehr gut rübergebracht🫶🏼 Eine Leseempfehlung von mir für den Sommer 🌞🌴 4,5/5⭐️

I LOVED The Unhoneymooners, and I was delighted by this mini-sequel audiobook. The sequel focuses on Ami, who you may recall is Olive’s twin from the infamous wedding in the first book (NO SPOILERS HERE!). The Torres family crashes a planned private ceremony in Maui, where Ami and the best man of the wedding are tasked with working together to make the day perfect. This has enemies to lovers, island vibes, more Torres family hi-jinx, and all the lovey feels you can expect from Christina Lauren. “The Unhoneymooners” by Christina Lauren @christinalauren Genre: Romantic Comedy (RomCom) My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ • Book summary: Olive is used to being the unlucky twin and is pretty sure she is jinxed. In contrast, her twin sister Ami seems to always have the best luck and wins a lot of free things. Olives luck changes when her sister and brother-in-law get food poisoning at their wedding and are unable to go on their honeymoon. Olive decides to go on their free vacation with her brother-in-laws brother, Ethan, who she’s hated for a long time. Her good-luck moment changes when she runs into her new boss and spreads a little white lie about why she is there and sucking Ethan into this lie as well. My thoughts: 👉🏻 A quick and entertaining read 👉🏻 Loved the enemies-to-lovers storyline 👉🏻 Had a lot of laugh out loud moments (and some roll your eyes moments) throughout the book 👉🏻 The plot twists were a little predictable, but still good 👉🏻 I love that Olive was able to change her outlook on life throughout the book and be slightly less pessimistic about her life and luck. Would I recommend this book: Yes! The sarcastic, snarky, witty banter between the characters had me cracking up. 🤣 I typically find romance novels to be cringy and eye-rolling, but this one really worked for me. Apparently, I enjoy the 'enemies to lovers' and 'fake dating' tropes. This book is perfect if you're looking for a lighthearted, fun summer rom-com. 🌝 ⬇️Synopsis⬇️ Olive is always unlucky: in her career, in love, in…well, everything. Happy flashback Friday!! 🥳 I read The Unhoneymooners last year and it was such a fun and quick read. I loved Ethan. He is such a sweet and grumpy character. Olive is a smart and sassy person who is always “unlucky” lol. There were times that Olive bothered me a bit, but not enough to not enjoy the story. Even though Olive believes she’s unlucky, that luck is what sent her and Ethan to an amazing trip to Hawaii. Her sister Ami had won a honeymoon trip but after getting intoxicated with the wedding dinner, the only people that didn’t get sick was Ethan, the best man, and Olive. The only thing wrong about this trip, besides impersonating her twin sister 😂 she hates Ethan. The tropes for this book is one of my favorite ones, enemies-to-lovers AND fake relationship!! And then put those 2 tropes together, win win for me!! And the best part of this story.. Olive is Hispanic!!
