POST 1 - It's been a while since we've done an FIP Stars update...and I'm happy to say it's all good news! Due to character restrictions, we'll do this in two posts. TEAM GOODY - G-Man is at Day 30 of his observation period, and his momma tells me he is doing really well and full of energy and eating so very well. He is still waiting for some of the other kitties to put on their play pants and play with him, but soon he will have another single kitty friend who will make a great playmate. We still have 54 days in the observation period, but I am happy to say Team Goody is kicking FIP's @$$ TEAM NYRA - This young girl will hit her 84-day mark in just a few days and all signs point to moving right into observation. She's full of life and energy and back to the best version of herself. She is enjoying being the queen bee to her new kitty sister Mayvis and takes an interest in everything the family does. Team Nyra is kicking FIP's @$$ TEAM RORY - This sassy calico is on Day 76 of her treatment and has just 9 more days to go. Her 8-week blood work is simply spectacular and coupled with her visible improvements, we are right on track for going into observation at the 84-day mark. Then she, her momma, and her kitty sister can celebrate the summer together taking in this massive win. Keep kicking FIP's @$$ Team Rory! TEAM DANI - I got to see Dani's mom and dad the other day to get them more meds and go over her blood work...and it was quite obvious why they were beaming from ear to ear. This girl has done 62 days of INJECTIONS and is leaving the vets speechless with her progress and kicking FIP's @$$. Her 8-week blood work was beyond spectacular and in 22 days we'll get 12 week blood work and make our informed decision about observation. My first replacement drill order was placed on May 13th and arrived today (May 16th). Thank you @diamondpaintingdrills for such fast shipping!! I checked the weight comparison between DAC drills and the new drills. They are surprisingly accurate, considering I went by drill count instead of grams. I'm going to attempt my first big color change to a kit. I'm changing the hair color from reds to browns. I'm anxious to get started, but I think I want to save this kit for Drills and Chills this year. I see that event every year, but I've never participated. Anyway, back to my big change...as you can see in the photo, I tried picking shades of brown that I thought would go well together like the original reds from DAC. I may have gotten two of the browns a little too close together, but we will see once I get started in Sept. This is a terrible photo but that little blotch of green is the beginnings of a dwarf palmetto. I planted it last year and nothing happened. It was “a live plant” when it went into the ground. It had no green fronds but that brown stick coming out of the ground. I decided a few months ago to move it to the other side of the pond. We are split many times by our practices,our ethos and our believed interpretation that perhaps working in collaboration may make us less. We are also stilted by the idea that if somebody has a “different idea“ or a different way of thinking that there may be a potential “war at hand. What if we started thinking differently? What if we started thinking that maybe the other person may have something additional and helpful to contribute to , no matter the size of the contribution? What if we actually met the other person, sat down with them, opened our ears and our hearts before we make the decision that we cannot ,will not,or shall not collaborate. This past week I was informed that I would not be welcome to the school as“behaviorism“ is not and wil not be tolerated. These people have never met me nor have I met them and I was so excited to be a part of this new creative team for a lovely human. Hopefully, I will be able to have a moment, a time,and space to be able to meet them And “share“ me so they can see. Perhaps I’m not the enemy, but yet another person to support guide and love this human into the next chapter of their life. And hopefully this is a good reminder to me that I need to never assume and always be open to meeting somebody prior to making a judgment. This might not make it perfect and in the end collaboration in fact in every case may not always work, but let’s give it a chance. Sooooo..it turns out that there was something wrong with the projection system. We waited for about 30 minutes until we found out it wasn't coming back up. How I stopped over-thinking so I could take action on my goals, and how YOU CAN TOO! Ladies, I have always been an over-thinker. Sometimes I have even been told I think about thinking which sounds hilarious 😂 but is actually really true….🤔💭 I was just the type of person that wanted to make sure I had a solid PLAN. I had to make sure I was READY. …but when are we really ready for everything. I mean things don’t always go as planned ALL of the time…I mean you might be perfect like that, but if you’re an imperfect person like me you can’t always be ready. This held me back tremendously and actually caused be to back track because as soon as I “messed up” in the process I would try to reevaluate. ✅ So here’s what I did…. ✨I just kept going… It’s really that simple.. nothing extravagant. I I got to a point where I made a decision to just keep moving forward. I stopped searching for PERFECTION because I am not PEFECT and NEITHER are you 🫵🏾 I stopped waiting for the perfect time and just started. When I made a mistake I would learn and keep moving forward with less thinking and more focus on my goals. Started Celebrating more of the small wins not the small obstacles. Which allowed me to give myself more happiness during the process. You made me snooze my mom for thirty days once when she was on a kick of sharing wonky, misleading political posts “to support” her friends. IG is always so pretty but you, FB, can be naughty. Yesterday, you decided to make me uncomfortable with a kick-him-when-he’s-down stunt, sharing my memories from two years ago. My own photos, yes. Point taken. A beautiful hike, sure. One that’s quite different from all the ones I do closer to the Pacific Coast. I loved that hike. So, yes, bat your eyes, FB, and feign innocence. Just a nice share. But you know the history in that hike, FB. I didn’t officially change my status or even dare post a picture of my hiking mate, but this was a hike my ex chose to share with me in our earliest days. Hours of driving and walking, two people taking a big chance, filling all that space with conversation and a shared love for nature and adventure.
