Di solito la reazione comporta emozioni negative atte a farci allontanare il più possibile da un eventuale evento doloroso di cui già abbiamo fatto esperienza. La risposta è però così anticipata che tende a chiuderci in una gabbia dorata e a tenerci lontano dalla vita. Proviamo allora questo esercizio, che ha il compito di renderci consapevoli delle nostre reazioni emotive, riconoscendo con il tempo quelle esagerate per l'evento attuale. Il 10 marzo è iniziato un corridoio di eclissi che si concluderà con quella totale solare dell'8 aprile. Come influisce questo nel nostro percorso spirituale? Believing you have to earn rest is a trauma belief that could be causing you to burn out. Do you feel guilty if you sit down, watch tv, or do something fun if everything on your to-do list isn’t done? Do you justify (I just sat down or I was about to…) if someone walks in and you’re not doing something? The “Rest as a reward” belief comes from being told you can’t go play until homework/chores are done. I don’t care if you’re tired, you need to do ____ first. Why are you in bed? You’re wasting the day. It can also come from having every minute scheduled. You get up, go to school, go to practice, other club or hobby, fit dinner in while driving, do homework/chores, go to bed. There’s no #timetorestandrelax So now you’re an adult and operating off the belief that you have to earn rest (except there’s no time) and you keep going until you’re burnt out and crabby. Building layers of ritual. The thing I hear way to often in our community is I don’t have time to do ritual. And when I am ip at 530am and returning home around 830pm for a job, I get it. But there are ways I have found to make ritual in the everyday tasks that we have to get done. My evening shower during the time I have an office job was my saving grace.
