It was lovely meeting the educators @goodlifekcc Logan, Beenleigh and Park Ridge last night and facilitating a workshop on Supporting and Guiding Children’s behaviour positively in early childhood. Each child is unique, and it's important to tailor your strategies to their individual personalities and needs. Consistency, patience, and a supportive environment are key to fostering positive early childhood behaviors. Argh this one kills me! Acknowledging that emotional blow ups are often a result of something completely unrelated to the situation at hand is one thing. But then having to dig into that raw wound to find out what it’s really about is an emotional rollercoaster! Add in having to communicate that to the person you inadvertently off loaded onto 🤮 - cue the vulnerability hangover!!! I sometimes wonder if blissfull ignorance over self awareness is the better path. But then I’d be back to unconsciously corroding the very relationships I need most in those moments, stuck in a victim mentality of everything being someone else’s fault. There’s freedom in doing the inner work 💛 I promise you it’s worth it. It’s cliche, but things like the Enneagram and studies on Emotional Intelligence have been the biggest increase to my personal development. Of course it’s easy to get caught up in the memeification (I made that up), of the Enneagram - the pop culture of it all is endless. Yet, if you actually look it it you will find there’s a lot of wisdom and practical actionable advice. Many may see me and think- this is just the same Corey- doing the same things- being the same way. I admit I have my habits, but being able to recognize those patterns and see the triggers and what I need to do, internally is drastically different than the person I was. So, here’s to small changes that only you know you are doing. Changes that make you better today than you were yesterday.
